      Subaru is the safest and Subaru just overtook Toyota for most reliable Japanese brand via Consumer Reports. Awd system is FAR superior to Chevys.

    You’ll see this Chevy on rental lots & in the shop before 100k mi. You’ll see this Subaru running strong at 200k mi, probably driven by original owner. 😂

      I would tend to believe you but one of my employees bought a 2015 Equinox and drove it 260k miles with no real issues. It was leaking oil the last couple years but was still fully functional. He liked it so much he bought a new 2023 white Equinox again.

      I wish more automakers were like Tesla in that they’re not afraid to be creative and innovative to differentiate themselves. A lot of the Crossovers look like only slightly different flavors of the same Jellybean.

    Don't know how you can do a comparison with a FWD vehicle with an AWD vehicle! 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙄

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha 🤷‍♂️ Similar price, dimensions, and potential buyer population. The Equinox can come with AWD, but I do recognize a lot of people don’t actually need that.

    • @tommymas1
      @tommymas1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @AutomotiveAnonymous208 Comparison should include AWD v AWD. You're leaving out a major function and component, especially Subaru's AWD with X-Mode. You wouldn't compare a convertible with a vehicle that has a panoramic sunroof, would you? The functionality of AWD is huge to some. 🤯😱🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    The Equinox is far superior in the look’s department than the Forester. The Equinox needs to replace the 1.5 Turbo with the 2.0 Turbo found in the Cadillac XT4 with chrome exhaust tips. On Demand AWD is needed in Northern Climates. The Forester needs to adapt the roof rails with integrated cross bars found on the Outback. The Final deciding factor on these vehicles is price and residual value for most consumers. The Equinox needs to offer interior trim colors like Grey and Tan over the Standard Black on the LT Trim.

    1) Don't apologize for your shadow. It proves you're not a vampire!
    2) The Subaru gets better gas mileage because the larger non-turbo engine is not working as hard. It should theoretically last longer as well.
    3) My 2023 Forester was made in Japan. My wife's Nissan Rogue was assembled in the USA. Frankly, the assembly quality seems about equal to me.
    3) The second generation Equinox rear seat could be slid fore and aft. I don't know if that's so on the newer ones.
    4) The only things on the Subaru that I do not like are 1) the controls are like a video arcade, 2) the driver's seat goes forward when being raised higher (apparently the Japanese cannot conceive of a long-legged person, as my wife's Nissan is the same only worse, and 3) the Imbecilic, moronic, idiotic rear center seatbelt being mounted in the roof instead of the seat.

      I agree with the roof mount seat belt. I bought my 2024 Subaru Outback in the spring. I kept hearing a rattle in the headliner. I thought that they would have to tear into the sunroof mechanism. It turned out to be the seatbelt wasn’t fully seated in the housing.

    Very interesting and eye-opening review of the new redisigned Equinox and the new generation Forester. I saw the Equinox personally and it looks handsome and more eyecatching than the Forester. Definitely Chevy looks quite a bit better than the previous gen rather dorkey-looking
    Forester. I wonder if in the near future you'd consider testing both models in their top iterations. As for their infotaintment screens, Chevrolet did well in keeping the most used physical buttons in plain site and away from the screen. Subaru went too far integrating all functions into the infotaintment system. Some things, the basics need to be operated through physical buttons as you say to avoid lag. I believe that to prevent the driver to take his/her eyes off the road, separate buttons are crucial. wouldn't you agree? I find myself having to wade through the infotaintment screen to turn on the a/c or heating, something that it's dangereous. Thanks for the review! .

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I absolutely agree! I think the Chevy looks better, and its physical HVAC controls are much better. But I’d always pick this Forester over the Equinox due to the crash test results and powertrain/AWD system. It’s too bad we can’t have it all in one vehicle lol.

    Not being a Chevy is the Subarus strong suit. As well as safety, price, reliability, all wheel drive performance, gas mileage, storage capacity and resale value!
