Those are the true believers whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned. And when Allah’s Verses are read to them, they increase them in Faith, and they put their trust in their Lord.

Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 1
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ
I do call to witness this City(Makkah) ;-
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 2
وَأَنْتَ حِلٌّ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ
And thou art a freeman of this City;-
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 3
وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ
And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;-
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 4
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ
Verily We have created man into toil and struggle.
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 5
أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ
Thinketh he, that none hath power over him?
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 6
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُبَدًا
He may say (boastfully); Wealth have I squandered in abundance!
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 7
أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ
Thinketh he that none beholdeth him?
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 8
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ
Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?-
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 9
وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ
And a tongue, and a pair of lips?-
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 10
وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ
And shown him the two highways?
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 11
فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ
But he hath made no haste on the path that is steep.
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 12
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ
And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?-
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 13
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ
(It is:) freeing the bondman;
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 14
أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ
Or the giving of food in a day of privation
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 15
يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ
To the orphan with claims of relationship,
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 16
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
Or to the indigent (down) in the dust.
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 17
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ
Then will he be of those who believe, and enjoin patience, (constancy, and self-restraint), and enjoin deeds of kindness and compassion.
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 18
أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
Such are the Companions of the Right Hand.
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 19
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
But those who reject Our Signs, they are the (unhappy) Companions of the Left Hand.
Chapter 90 The City سورة البلد - Al-Balad: Verse 20
عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُؤْصَدَةٌ
On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round).
