NEW Adria Astella! Tiny House, Cabin, or Caravan?

- At Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2020 there was only ONE product that EVERYONE was talking about, and that was the new Adria Astella.
It was so popular I couldn't get near it, but the kind folks at Adria took pity on me and gave me five minutes to have a quick look at this stunning...er... cabin? Caravan? Tiny House?
With an MTPLM of 3000kg, it can be towed by a regular car in some countries, but in the UK its body length of 7.6m means it would need to be towed by suitable commercial vehicle.
There is talk of the Astella coming to the UK but this is not yet confirmed. We live in hope!
So what do you reckon? Is it a caravan, is it a cabin, is it a tiny house? Either way, it would make for phenomenal Air BnB accommodation.

Finally a decent interior design concept for a trailer. No more 90s cabinetry. Would love to see the toy hauler version of this.

I'm going to call it a land yacht. The design is very reminiscent of modern sailboats, like Jeanneau or Bavaria. Clean, sleek, and efficient.

Looks like Adria have taken the idea from Bailey when they dabbled with the Retreat range, and made it so much better. The Retreat was launched in 2012 and was marketed as a seasonal pitch caravan modelled on a static

Not a touring caravan really - but a beautiful studio to stay in if you have a pitch to put it on. Wonderful! I'd move in tomorrow. A lovely writing cabin just for me and my dog :)

Home from home. .it might be heavy, it might be long, it is expensive but it's always nice to dream! Only 1 thing missing though doggy bowl !
Ah, the good old "if you have to ask what it costs, you can't afford it" category. :) Very swish. I'm not a caravan guy but I can change my mind. Except of course for not being able to afford it. And of course the size and space means it's more transportable than fully mobile. But really, the interior of that is basically what you dream about isn't it? Very high end, spacious, absolutely perfect for a solo dweller or a couple. None of that "family of four nasty compromise" nonsense here.
To me the Astella is THE highlight of Caravan Salon👍❤️
So modern and if future touring caravans are going to be like this then I’m looking forward to it.

Andrew , this is a wonderful carava, great features,,and the bed in back, can be there all day, what a concept for a Caravan, Cheerio, From NJ, USA.
I think it is great for someone who has vacation property and wants a seasonal home to use while they can take their time and build the permanent structure they wish. When the permanent structure is built, this can serve as a guest house, pool house, and / or destination trailer. It is large for European standards but the smaller unit is quite manageable.

It is a tiny loft on wheels! It is the most beautiful caravan I ever saw. I’m normally not interested in caravans but this one is amazing 😲
I go specially to Dordrecht Open to see this beauty. And of course the other great stuff of Adria.

Nice one Andrew, you are in the know! thanks for the private tour it is lovely, though cleaning all those mirrors would be time consuming but a nice time on rainy days, love the reclining lounge, and I could easily slide into this luxury living cheers from Australia.
Think your probably right, seasonal pitch. Definitely an aspirational one. Might but dream.
Interesting to see a new take on a caravan door too, bring the outdoors in. (A bit like caravan meets panel van motorhome conversion?)
If Adria made a conventional caravan based on this exterior and interior look, style and layout - I would be one of the first to buy it.

I like it, Andrew. Mind you, I like Adria designs overall. I can see this being popular in the UK and fuelling the AirBnB market and attracting seasonal pitch devotees. I could live in one too! 😀

Lovely- only negative is all that space wasted behind the sofa with the plants in...there must be about 2 extra feet there!
I think that's where the bed base lives. I only had 5 minutes unfortunately.
It seems that there is front storage here. A panel outside can be lifted to access the propane tanks and two side compartments.

I love the layout, especially the double doors. Shame its so heavy. I would like those doors combined into a "normal" fixed double bed caravan.
Been looking forward to seeing this version. Thank you. Tried to find a 2016 model a couple of years back but this is unrecognisable to the former Astella. Totally agree this is more for seasonal pitches or permanent living. Let's hope we get a peak at the NEC next month (doggies on tour)

Beautiful styling but I was a little disappointed with the interior I was expecting it to be more spacious. Lovely engineered, I’m a Swift owner but I love the Adria finish and detail. Think I’d miss towing though.
This is good. Love this. It is a new concept to caravan.
Oh I love it. It is a caravan companies response to a tiny home. It would be great for young people who can't afford a house but could perhaps live in this cheaply till they can afford a house or land. It looks very comfortable.

Long time no see Andrew. I am pleased to see you again. How is Dougal doing? I hope he is fine. I see the new Adria Estella, what a nice caravan! It's top notch. I wish I could live in one like it and travel around Europe! Actually, I lived in a caravan in Kingfisher Caravan Park (Gosport, Hampshire) at Browndown road. It was such an amazing time!
It’s lovely. It doesn’t look like it’s aerodynamic so I would use it as a cabin.
Only 5 minutes, very generous of Adria. Surely they don't have so many 'influencers' queueing up to look at it that they can't give you half an hour ho have a real good look. I'm a camper van chap so not directly interested in this but it looks nicely done.

Liked it a lot, but didn’t get the planter behind the sofa.
If I had a patch of land (5 acres or so), very remote and away from it all , then this seems like a great solution. It is not permanent so no planning permission needed to put it there.
But not as a seasonal pitch on a regular campsite ... it is way too beautiful for that ... not ?
Great idea and Adria's in house modernist design approach is perfect for this . A little unadventurous on layout and use of space though . They could have been a bit more creative with this. love the concept though

Its perfect solution for my garden to keep it there and use it all studio flat all year. Just wonder what is it like dragging this little house on the wheel behind car and what car I need to be able to make it.

Typically German precisely engineered hopefully it is more reliable than any of the new BMW range. That is very elegant as no doubt the price is.

Saw 2 of these at the introduction in the Netherlands. They have all kinds of layouts I guess because the one we went into had the kitchen in the back. Though they were 60k and 70k so expensive! Wasn't busy at all, but I guess it was because it was outside and raining :p

Looks swish but reservations on the practicality of using/living in it... Dining? Visitors on a cool day? Aerodynamics? Tow handling? Shiny surfaces and fingerprints (lol)! Would love you to have this for a few weeks and report back!

An interesting concept...1/2 tiny house, 1/2 caravan. I like how the finishes echo a residential home more than an RV we would see here. Andrew..where would you be allowed to legally park this other than a seasonal pitch? Here they have a “Z” code meaning they are only allowed in trailer parks. I did have a delightful modern park model that was four season but could only be in an RV park. Required wide load towing. So many building restrictions here 😖 Were Dougal’s feelings hurt when you said “I could live in one of these...” 😢

When you consider that most larger livestock trailers (fully laden) are heavier than this, there is really no reason why you wouldn't be towing this in the Outer Hebrides. Especially if you are as familiar with the roads as you are Andrew. I think the width of the caravan is much more of an issue than its weight. Obviously, to tow this Astella, a large and powerful vehicle will be necessary. Your pickup should manage it i would think. I like this Astella, but its a caravan for those who are experienced towers only. It's also only for those with deep pockets.
You'd need a commercial vehicle and licence to tow this in the UK due to its length Andrew.

Andria is always clean sleek modern, With an excellent color Pallet and coordination ... *Andria is My Favorite* .... All! .. this mimi cabin needs, is a WASHER/ DRYER COMBO ..... AND A BIT OF ADDED CLOSET SPACE ... FOR FULL TIME LIVING ...
WITH AN ADDED 2 1/2 FEET LONGER CONCEPT ... and, WITH A BEHIND THE BED AREA, Adria please create a type of walk in closet running behind the BED WITHE THAT
RUNS THE FULL WITHE ACROSS BEHIND THE BED AREA ... FOR A LONG WALK IN CLOSET .. WHICH WOULD CREATE A FULL TIME HOME ... And or full comfort travel experience

I visited this exact "camper" in Wevelgem, Belgium (at DKW Caravan I think the dealership is called) only yesterday. Adria, funnily enough, is not known for being top of the line as far as quality goes though - quite lower down actually but this just blew us away. We had no intention of buying one (way too dear for our budget - we bought a 2020 LMC 520 K) but it was soooo gorgeous! The width (252 cm) of this is too much for driving in most EU countries and we mostly take our caravan down to the south of France so a definite no no.
