Wow, the stereo room IR is fantastic! I’ve got an Iridium coming. Have used Kemper, Axe FX AX8 and Helix floor and HX FX. Plan is to use Iridium with my dirt pedals before it and HX FX after for mods, delays and reverbs. I may also integrate my Strymon BigSky and Dig. I like the simplicity of using one unit like the Helix floor but there’s just something special about real amps and pedals. Hopefully the Iridium will fulfill the amp and cab needs. Thank you kindly. I’ve never been compared to Phillips or really considered myself similar but after you saying it I can definitely see some tonal choices that are reminiscent. I’m not a huge fan but even his more recent albums I guess share a voicing I’m predisposed to. A humbling comparison!

Decisons, decisions. Do I keep my Kemper (still within 45 day return period), or get the Fractal FM3 when it comes out, OR get the Strymon Iridium and a Line 6 HX Effects.
J Kept the Kemper, returned the Iridium. Had the Kemper around a year now and it’s wonderful. If the Iridium had a few, just a few amazing tones I may have kept it, but after using it to record several, like 40 different variations, it wasn’t in the same league as a Kemper.

@@ponderersounds3172 I do think it's included with the full version. I don't have any version of Kontakt though. I never could get my musical brain around Kontakt. Just never found it intuitive. Strymon "small" boxes on the other hand, exact opposite!
I am not very advanced with it either. I mainly just use libraries that are very intuitive and comprehensive so you don’t need to know much to use them. I’d love to learn how to sample my own sounds though... all in good time...
Was pretty much sold on getting this for guitar anyway, but this demo was great in that it showed other applications too. Strymon should be thanking you for doing an amazing job on selling this pedal! lol Cheers.
In a matter of speaking they are quite similar but there are some definite key differences. Iridium has MIDI, Presets, Expression over any knob and the Room reverb... Simplifier gives you direct outputs as well as outputs to your real amp at the same time, you can choose two different cabs for left and right, Stereo fx loop and mic positioning. So they’re geared toward slightly different scenarios I guess. They both sound incredible.
The Iridium has the highest amount of sample per second, meaning the response to your playing dynamic is as dynamic as possible currently out of any product. The room feel is absolutely crucial in feeling natural to me personally. I don’t really get into sims and IRs but this is spectacular. I like the HX and I think it is pretty damn good but to my ears and in terms of feel I give the Iridium full marks.
Ponderer Sounds I have and loved my Helix Stomp. Beautiful effects. However, the amps are not convincing and I’ve yet to be satisfied with the Helix plug in or Stomp for direct recording. I’m pondering using my Helix stomp for effects and the iridium for live and recording. The tones in this video are so beautiful
I’m fairly new to this so a noob question: Can I plug the guitar into this and use headphones ? Or instead of headphones straight into a DAW? Maybe even GarageBand on iPad (with the right cable)?

how would you compare this to Guitar Rig or other software amp emulations? I would manage to make usable sounds form software emulations that would sit good in a recording, but what always bothered me is that slight inevitable latency, that would make real time playing feel off... I was considering getting some hardware amp sim only to avoid that latency.
I’ve used some great programs recently that I can barely notice any latency at all so it’s hard to say, but I would say that I’ve never come close to being inspired by software as much as I have using this. It’s a really inspiring pedal, dialing in the room feel is easy and sounds amazing with headphones on.

They should have put a decent reverb in instead of the room ambiance which in my opinion isn't the best.
I’m all for big reverbs but to be honest I love that knob, perfect for a bit of width when I don’t need big verb tones.
