We cruise Celebrity and Disney. Disney is like “camp at sea” for the kids…. for 10 and under it is worth it in my opinion. My kid loves the club and we have to drag him out of the club every day because there are so many activities and kids his age to play with. Celebrity is chill and has an upscale, laid back vibe. I’ve noticed a few small kids on Celebrity and I’ve wondered if small kids would get bored on Celebrity since we’ve never taken our son on Celebrity. I love kids and I have never had any issues with kids on any cruise line. I can’t say the same for all the adults we’ve cruised with! lol I personally enjoy multigenerational cruising and especially the little ones onboard and I am glad that Celebrity makes them feel welcome.
I love multigenerational cruising, too! It's such a nice way to bring the family together! We haven't done a Disney Cruise yet, but would really like to!
We have been cruising with our son since he was 4 years old and never had an issue. He now gets a little bit board because he is 21 and does not find activities for young adults. But I am sure he will have a blast when we board the Ascent in December. I do agree with the comment about the adult swimming pool. There are many options for kids and families onboard. When I go to the solarium, I want to enjoy with adults only. Some parents do not respect that and still bring their young kids to that area.❤
That's so amazing that you've been cruising for so long! I hope that you have a great cruise in December, I'm sure you will. And we're on the same page, it's so important to respect those quiet spaces for those traveling without children. Hopefully, the staff jumps in for those who don't respect those boundaries or aren't aware. :)
My 70 yo mother, 4yo son and I are going on a Baltic Sea cruise in two days. Thank you for your input! I would love to share our experience when we return! Thanks again!
Thanks for this! My family (with kids ages 4 and 6) is taking an 11-night Christmas & New Years cruise this year on Silhouette. I’m sure there will be TONS of kids and families so I’m expecting there will be lots of cool things for us to do. Our last cruise (also in late January) with Princess had 31 total kids onboard, and 11 in my kids’ age group. We still had an amazing time! Cruising is the best way to travel with kids in my opinion. With regards to the looks from other passengers, I totally get it. What I would say to them is maybe go on an adults only cruise or you can buy your own yacht. If that doesn’t suit you, then you just have to share this cruise ship with 3000 other passengers who all have the same right to be there as you do. So deal with it!! 😂
🤣🤣 buy your own yacht! I love it! I agree, if you’re going on a cruise ship, you can’t really pick and choose who else sails with you. Our family has a great time and I’m sure that your family will too. Where does the Christmas cruise go?
@@theexperiencefamily We're sailing from Fort Lauderdale and visiting Nassau, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, San Juan, and Puerto Plata. It's gonna be a busy one! Lol
@@jennasheppard4447 ooh, that sounds like so much fun! I honeymooned in St. Lucia and always said we would go back, but we haven’t made it happen yet. Some day!
@@pinkorganichorseCelebrity is great and I’ve been on 7 cruises with them and going on the next in two days! It’s best for 40 and over as there isn’t a lot of loud dance cloud vibes going on. I love celebrity!
We have an 11 yr old and 12 yr old going with us on a Celebrity cruise this summer. This will be our first Celebrity cruise after 1 Disney cruise. We intend to hang out with them and include them fully in the vacation and not just drop them off at a kids club and say cya. ;) I think we'll make use of the pools, basketball court, theaters, and activities if they're interested in them and I'm not really worried about it honestly! Thanks for this video!
You’re welcome! I am sure that your kids are going to love it. We were the same and hung with our kids the whole trip. It was nice that they had some family friendly activities that didn’t involve dropping the kids off, we really appreciated that. How did they like the Disney cruise?
Oh my goodness, that sounds AMAZING! Have so much fun!! I am sure you made the right choice. We are planning to do a Norway cruise in 2026 and I can’t wait to start planning it!
The scavenger hunt was a whole family event so we did not drop the kids off for that. It was cute and the kids seemed to really enjoy it (and honesty, I did too :). I think the food quality rating is definitely going to be a bit subjective. I generally don’t eat super-healthy while on cruises, but I also don’t go crazy either. I would’ve loved to have seen more plant-based apps. There was usually at least one plant-based main. There weren’t many low carb options unless you were eating a meat dish. I felt like the overall quality was good, but not fantastic. I know my answer was kind of all over the place, but I hope that helps in some way though!
So we had a neighbor climb onto our balcony from another room, 12 hours later someone woke us screaming because he got locked on his balcony (carnival) and I can say my teen know better. Because I sneak up and watch her when she doesn't know, so I know she is where she says she is and behaving herself. I wish everyone took this seriously, but I'm looking for a new cruise line because of bad behavior by ADULTS>
It was not cold for us, but that can certainly vary based on where you'll be going. We were in Key West & the Bahamas :) I would suggest bringing a cardigan and a few pairs of pants even for warmer itineraries just since it can get quite breezy on the ship.
I don't believe it is. There are a lot of older cruisers and I get the impression from what I heard and saw, they don't want kids around. Holland America is the same. NCL and Royal are much better options for families with kids.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and input! I’ve also heard Princess is great for families and I’m excited to compare the two cruise lines after our upcoming Princess Cruise.
Considering Celebrity for a Mediterranean cruise. What I’ve struggled with on any cruise line we might choose is that my kids would be in two different age groups. Do you know if they let siblings stay together? Mine would be 11 and 15. Could the 15-yr old go with the 11-yr old?
I’m sorry, I am not sure whether they would allow it or not. I agree, it does complicate things. I just went on a Princess cruise and my kids were in different age groups so we ended up not using the kid services.
They were a few on our cruise, but definitely not an abundance of little ones. I would say if you have a toddler with a mellow personality, I’d say go for it. Otherwise, one of the other cruise lines like Princess, Disney, or RC might be a better fit for now.
@@williamlyons3947 she doesn’t have living grandparents. Why would we want to spend time away from our child? The whole point is to have a family vacation. You should mind your own business.

I assumed the scavenger hunt was club staff run where you drop off kuds and staff takes them around. Is MDR food very good quality? Healthy?

Wow, that's wild! I don't blame you for looking for an alternative cruise line.
