Ivan Dixon starred in a fine film that nobody went to see and consequently nobody remembers called "Nothing But A Man"(1964). A wonderful performance by Mr Dixon, every bit as good as Sydney Poitier's in"Lillies of the Field"a year earlier(IMHO). But unlike Mr Poitier Ivan Dixon wasn't nominated for spit because hardly anyone in The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences knew of the film's existence or even Ivan Dixon's existence for that matter. Check out the movie and see what you think,I don't believe you'll be disappointed. But if you are, go back to watching tv shows about zombies and/or disgusting lowlife criminals and/or disgusting lowlife police and/or disgusting lowlife rich people.
