You should look up Pastor Muthee, another Kenyan preacher. He gave huge support for Palin when she was running with McCain. He frequented my parent’s church in Wasilla, Alaska. The lastor was Ed Kalnins

When I was a kid; we donated to the 'angel tree'. We decided it was not enough. (Rambunctioisess ensued): we straight up robbed. We took everything. In a menace, we took it all. And then.... we took it all to an 'angel tree'. They asked no questions when we donated. I really hope our efforts met some kid.
Edit: the crew and I knew. I know it's wrong now. Hell, we liberated a shit ton of toys for kids that year. I was young. Stupid. Seemed like the best way possible to donate. Remember: theft is not a good idea.....
But also... I am dam sure we made some kids happy.

Edit 3: we specially panhandled. Asked for spare change, In troves, specifically to donate.
We never stole from a human being. Just establishments.
Bought what we could, took the rest.
In the end?..... we braught garbage bags full of toys. Bicycle, Legos. Etc.
That was one of the greatest feelings I've ever had .

Well...if you weren't just a little ol' Robbin' Hoodwinks, of Halowood Forest, creating smile after smile upon who even knows how many less-fortunate youth from a wake containing countless frowns, and curses galore the likes of damnin' you all to Hell or to suffer oedipal complexes, both accompanied by many a-raised shaking fist, maybe even an uncomfortable call, or so, with the fuzz reporting the losses! Hence, in the end a Band of Merry Minors out of Prince pricechecker John callin' Sheriff of Naughtyhug despite the contraband already all long gone, all already having been _"Paid" Forward_ long ago and are already bein' cherished or enjoyed, by those well-deserved: once upon a time... LmMFaO!!! ;) :P :o)

The YT channel 'Leaving the Message' goes into detail about the William Branham story - and how the ripples go wide. A variety of sects followed Branham, who ended up declaring him as anything from the ultimate 'Voice of God' to 'Christ' himself. This Kenya cult was one of the branches and threads of this network (surprisingly effective in African contexts considering Branham was the prodigy of KKK leader - but selective translation / access to the Branham sermon archive)
Branham influenced Jim Jones (of Jonestown infamy) though they parted ways when Jones was pro racial integration. Others who began their ministry under the shadow of Branham were Oral Roberts and others that became the fathers of the prosperity gospel. Teaching about being 'little christs' with the ability to speak things into being (religious version of manifestation/The Secret) is way beyond the Azusa St theology and the pentecostalism of that time.
Pentecostalism is a lively pattern of worship (compared to the liturgical patterns of Catholic and Anglican/Episcopal traditions, nor the 'shut up and listen 'controlled congregations. The Pentecostal church gave people permission to be emotional in their faith, I think this was a good balance.
But toxic theology is in all branches of the church.
