You are aware that the term "wildcamping" has a specific legal meaning in Scotland under the Land Reform Act 2003 and you cannot "wild camp" in a campervan under the law. For that matter you can't even pitch a tent by the side of the road near your car and "wild camp".
@@junehall2177 I think I have to agree. The ignorance to claim that the Scottish government makes "some provisions" is simply not true. There are *ZERO* provisions whatsoever in the Land Reform Act (Scotland) 2003 for campervans. In fact, they are explicitly excluded as is parking your car up and pitching your tent. Wild camping means using a tent and *walking* with all your gear in a *single* trip a significant distance. They should probably update it to exclude anything within 100m of a road to drive it home to these selfish individuals.
I know what it means and that's why the Scottish Government have strategically located various facilities such as water filling points, elsan points, toilets, showers and councils encourage overnight parking for a small donation. That is wild camping.
Is there a reason why you don't seem to use VW garages in Scotland, noted its always Oldham. Would it be best to travel to the nearest one in situations like these?
We spoke to vw Oldham and advised it was OK to wait to see them. The reason we use this garage is its the best garage we have ever used. The team there are amazing.

Yeah it's a term most people use and the Scottish government does make some provisions at various locations.
