i haven't played mgo2 but i haven't seen anything in this video that can't be done in mgo3. Unless you are talkig about the indoors map an extra special characters
@@ricardomiles2957 Are you joking? I'll tell you about it. 1. The mode Sneaking Mission is not in MGO3. 2. There's no Solid and/or OctoCamo. There's Venom Snake, but you can't change his camo. 3. There are weapons available in MGO2 that are not in MGO3. 4. MGO2 had many more options for the hosts of games. You could lock certain weapons and so on. There's a lot more. But that might be all that's visible in the video.
@@DanSmeed Well i was talking about what i could see in the video but anyways 1- from the video i couldn't tell anything different about the game mode, give you that. @@ricardomiles2957 1. If you look closer I'm sure you'll get what Sneaking Mission is about from the video. You see, the other players doesn't see Snake when he's on the ground and has full effect of the camo. And depending on his position, there are different levels of transparency. Furthermore, how much you see him varies from map to map, since certain environments makes that harder. 2. They are still different characters, with different gear. OctoCamo's got nothing to do with MGO2? It's available in the game, in SNE and in other modes. Only in SNE does it have the invisibility/transparency effect. I don't see how it matters that it's in the base game. Still legit to compare I would say, since it has a large effect on the enjoyment level of the different MGOs. At least for people like me who played a lot of SNE back on MGO2. 3. I can partly agree on this in the way that weapons don't matter that much anyway. Not what you said perhaps. But, there are more unique weapons in MGO2 because there are more unique characters.
The Raiden and Vamp fight, then Vamp falls and Snake is juts there so close was quite funny for some reason. Also, I think shirtless guy was after you, maybe? Really need to play this game throught the SaveMGO. Still have my PS3 and my MGS4 copy so I will try that first. Awesome gameplay btw
*A custom firmware PS3. I miss it a lot as well. My mind is aching for this game from time to time. I could get a CFW PS3, but I often think that it might be best to leave some things to history. I mean, might not be a good idea to go back to a game I was pretty much addicted to. I wonder how many were like that. Like when it shut down, you couldn't enjoy other games because how many games have that frantic pace. MGO was pretty much constant action. Most remotely similar games are like you rarely get opponents in the spawn. You run for ages to get to the action, so there's breathing room. And of course, games such as GTA or MGS have a lot of breathing room because they're not necessarily online. MGO was slower sometimes perhaps. But most of the time it was chaotic.
2 teams fight in a basic respawning deathmatch with a set timer, but 1 player gets to play as snake on his own team sometimes accompanied by a teammate that controls a robot. Snake must steal the dogtags off a specified number of enemies (in this case 3) by either knocking them out or holding them up with a gun and searching the enemy. The 2 teams can win either by eliminating snake a specified number of times or just eliminating more enemies if the timer runs out. Aswell, the he reason so many enemies are running past him is because his camo % (indicated on top right) will make him nearly invisible for enemy players to see when positioned and timed correctly. MGO2 still has regular deathmatch gamemodes too, it does take a tough pc to run the emulation though.
1:23 AYO what was that canon fight bro lmaaao, Raiden isn't broken? And outstanding play at the ending dude, i assume Snake actually gets kinda transparent for other players POV right?
Snake is transparent based on how high his camo index percentage is at. At 99%, Snake is completely invisible, though he will still make noise or kick up dust when he moves.
@@darkishzapo1155From how the camo index changes colors, I guess the mechanics of Snake being less visible when people around are fighting each other, are also working in multiplayer?
@@adzi6164 That's right. When there is loud noises near Snake's position, he gets a bonus to his camo index. In some extreme cases, it could even allow Snake to be at 99% camo even while crouching and moving.
I don't really have that kind of pull with the others, haha. I can try to record a March where I am NOT Snake and try to showoff what it looks like from that POV, but I know that's not what you're asking for. I'm sorry :(

They cannot physically see Snake's body at 99% camo, but they can still hear him, see his footprints, or see any dust he kicks up from the ground. (Though the footprints are VERY hard to see without the use of ENVG goggles)
They can see his shadow as well. Can be useful if you look closely, because when he's up against walls you can see a slight shadow by his feet. And on the cold maps, you can see his breath unless he plays dead.
@@lzm82 Depends on the map I would say. On some maps the shadows are more visible and on others you can barely see Snake even when he's crouching. On Icebound Inferno you can barely see him when he's running. Ha!
In the outdoors maps, players standing in fully sunlit places (like many streets and roofs in the Middle-East) cast a very obvious shadow - Snake in such cases, even with maxed camo, would be easily found by looking at his shadow crawling around, or even lying still.
Lmfao no chance MGO3 could capture this feeling, they made the best online back in the day

what the hell do they see? Is Snake completely invisible to them, even when he is in the middle of changing textures/colors?
It's based in his camo index. The higher his camo percentage, the more transparent he is. At 99% camo, Snake is completely invisible.
Really hope they bring back Mgs4 online when they release the vol2 collection.
They didn't bother for MGO1 with MGS3, so I wouldn't get your hopes up, honestly
