Lime, there's actually a simple, innocuous reason for the shoes. It's an inland body of water that likely comes up from an aquifer underground, meaning there's no movement and, as such, the outer edge becomes an absolute mire of silt and soaked mud that swallows you up past your knees if you step in the wrong spot. Combine this with years of families going camping and losing footwear to the murk and there's probably a whole lot more in there still.
Lime is really the type of guy to get dropped into an apocalyptic scenario and run off into the wilderness, find a random lake, and barely sustain himself on fish in preparation to leave his secluded area in an attempt to get more resources.
Just realised the best setup in Project Zomboid is getting a fuckton of gas, a generator, fishing equipment, having a base near a lake. You basically have infinite food and water (purified water and cooked fish.)

No, you cannot break trees with blunt weapons, no matter how long you smash, but you can with any blade weapon, even a knife if you're patient enough. Source : That time I couldn't find any axes on a multiplayer server.
you can cut down trees with specifically a sledgehammer though, in fact it is the second best tool for doing it, behind the woodcutters axe, now, why would you use a sledge for that, I dont know, but it is a fact.
Fishing tip: The durability of traps reset if you take em out of the water and put them back in. They refill within an hour and break after around ~15h of sitting in the water. Just take em out every once in a while and you are gucci. If you haven't seen the other comments on this, also make sure that your mask and helmet aren't messing with your investigation area.
Speeding up breaks all your sticks when using the drill plank. Having all the bad moodles and trying to light a fire is still like 80% success if you just go 1x speed.

Remember from the trailer park challenge, that the axe's context menu for "Chop down tree" is bugged in B41 and uses up double durability. That's why they're breaking so quickly. It's better to swing manually.
There is a mod that fixes that called Tree Chop Bug Fix - There's also a more interesting mod called Woodcutting Skill that does partially fix the axe durability issue and adds some other features.

I wish even modded PZ had more options for survivalist sustenance. Like, young pine buds can be boiled for tea, wild onion, honeysuckle, black walnuts, several nutritious fungi species, and much more is native across the Eastern US which includes Kentucky, but instead the game is like "eat this can of beans you found on the ground in the woods and wash it down with some live worms" if you can't fish.
They did a great job on foraging but yeah there's always room for more. Keep in mind Lime is making a huge sacrifice to style on his already poor foraging skill by wearing that helmet and balaclava. Plus plenty of great wilderness mods.
You should cook all of your food into "meals" imo, they have a hunger bonus and stir fries and soup can easily remove any boredom or depression so you don't get the -10 percent work speed from being severely depressed
@@PocketWolf7642 meals are always a net gain of calories. I dont recal the actual gain but as an example 100 calories of raw ingredients could be turned into 110 calories of meals

it is better to use one chipped stone and branch to make knife and then use that knife to make spears. cuz if you use stone to make spear, it'll make only one. knife will hold longer.
Nah they weren't dumping the bodies in the lake, just the leftover clothes. The bodies served a higher purpose. Nothing wrong with hanging out in the woods for a long time either, have to take care of your needs first. How high of Fishing skill do you need to be to respool a line anyway? Doesn't seem like it would be that hard, just laborious.

Give him, say, a month or two in the woods to prepare as much as he can, but then he has to move into town and forage in the city. Still can't loot anything from corpses or containers, though.

Weight gain is capped, and you can only break that limit and get 'double chevrons' when you eat *Fat* or *Carbs* which act as multipliers for weight gain. Eat some oil, ice cream, butter, etc with all your food.
the number of times i've found a house bursting with TP has been a little frustrating, but i didn't know that it's such a good fuel source.....not that i ever had a chance to use it as one.....

Honestly, never even thought about TP having so much burn time in it, like you said, finding the toilet paper house would probably be what? 1000 hours worth of fuel? Maybe more? You could probably heat your home throughout most of the winter without ever burning a piece of wood.

My buddy and I were playing with the Ashenwood mod and at the lake there I caught a pike weighing 200+ units there was so much meat and such little storage
I like to take a few days break in normal play throughs to forage farm fish organise loot, it resets you and makes a loot run or extended trip away feel more intense
In one recent playthrough the toilet paper event happened in the Rosewood gas station. I was pretty upset at the time, but if I knew you could use TP in wood stoves, it wouldn't have been so bad lol.

You can also set up a sink plumbed to a barrel, which will make you not need to boil the water as long as you don't use all of your stockpile.

Tbf the location he's at lacks the necessary pots, frying pans etc to actually craft proper meals
good idea, if he had pots, pans and trays needed to cook
Sometimes its necessary to just eat the food straight to better gain calories to not go underweight since prepping them into meals removes some of it

My problem is that it becomes very monotonous to batch cook fish and cook them in meals separately! Tho ill keep it in mind when the going gets tough
