    I was just watching a JEM video featuring the late Rabbi Jonathan Sacks who said: “The most transformative moments in a person’s life happen when someone believes in you more than you believe in yourself.”

    This discussion is 🔥🔥🔥
    I have yet to hear such a clear explanation of the current era of chassidus as discussed in this Pod. Thanks so much to Bentzi Avtzon and Rabbi Pinson!

    Tali Lowenthal, in his book, Hasidism beyond Modernity, cites Zvi Telsner who heard from Leibel Groner that after the histalkus of the Friediker Rebbe the Rebbe requested that he be brought breslover seforim so he can understand how to be a chossid of a rebbe who is no longer here physically.

      Wow. That's wild. Remember, the Rebbe had a chavura with R' Tzvi Aryeh Rosnfeld z"l...

    @18:05 - difference between "becoming" or "revealing". Ishbitzer has a Torah in Vol. 2 parshas Kedoshim where he discusses that both bechinos are true; two kinds of kedushos; one that already is (kesher penimi) and that can be added to (kesher chitzoni). Also the bechinah (brought in Sod Yesharim) of Yaakov Avinu's vision - malachei elokim olim v'yordim; from our perspective we can fall and rise, "hashem nitzav alav", from Hashem's perspective the kedusha is kavua. Also difference between kedusha of shabbos and kedusha of yom tov. (This all aligns with the previous topic; "revealing" - level of yediyah/m'tzido/soveiv/iggulim. "becoming" - level of bechirah/m'tzideinu/m'malei/yosher.)

    @8:40 This sounds very similar to the Breslover paradigm of Ayeh/Meloh (LMT 7) or Ratzo/Shov (LM 6). This balance runs through the essence of the Breslover consciousness. [One may also suggest that these energies of process and presence are rooted, respectively, in the dual realities of yediyah and bechirah/tzimtzum (challal hapanui) and Ein Od Milvado.]

    The Mishna in Avos says אל תאמין בעצמך עד יום מותך obviously it doesn’t mean until one’s physical demise because then it’s impossible for a person to believe in themself. Like the story of ר׳ זלמן משה in the last 20 years of ס״ו when a person becomes a גארנישט that is יום מותך.

    I'm hearing "hishtadlus" but I'm pretty sure that's not what you're saying (5-9 minute mark). What word is being translated as "present"?

      Hishtavus - equanimity, correlated with presence in this conversation. "Shivisi - I have set Hashem before me at all times." (Tehillim 16:8) As they say in the conversation, the Baal Shem Tov brings it at the start of Tzavaas haRivash which is contrasted with the shaar blatt, the title page of Tanya which they describe as more 'process' - the long-short way

    עומק חסיד רבי. Which means as long as there is a חסיד there is a רבי.

    The Rebbe used very shocking words when the realization set in that his goals for the seventh generation weren’t realized. If everything that he did was להבל ולריק r then clearly it isn’t בשלימות, no?

      If you look at the sichos after that amazing sicha, you will see the realization of the Rebbes mission and goal.

    • @yochanangordon5981
      @yochanangordon5981 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The question was whether or not there was a lack of שלימות. There are possibly various connotations of that term in this context. I was using he Sicha to demonstrate on one level that there seemed to be a lack of שלימות and. Therefore a sense of urgency in the rebbes words.

      @mbenjamin9625 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no Dor hashmini! The 7th is Malchus = the culmination of the entire process -> into actuality. If you listened to the Pod you would get this.
