I much prefer Ray Chen directing the chamber ensemble with his eyeballs and physicality over being constrained by a conductor in a full orchestra. BREATHTAKING! 🤩
I've never seen it played this way. Ray prowling around the stage like a hunter stalking prey and then jumping in with so much intensity. It really set apart the elegant moments. It felt like more than music. It felt like a story being told. I've ascended.
It’s so awesome think of winter in the woods. The wolf stalks it’s prey. Stating his prey down, that’s what he wants. Always loved this piece. Phenomenal
To me the visuals and movements are always secondary, and I would honestly love a concert where you just hear the music and don't see anything, but it'd take someone playing like Ray here to actually make it enjoyable beyond belief. You can hear all of the movements, the elegance behind them and the emotions with your eyes closed

I just knew about you through suggested videos on youtube. I'm not a violinist and I've only been practicing piano for about 5 months. Because I started playing musical instruments when I was almost 30 years old, it was quite difficult for me. And actually I used to want to give up. But when I watch your videos, especially your performance videos, I feel very motivated. You have shown me your enthusiasm for violin and and this has made me want to continue practicing piano even though it's very difficult. Thank you very much for inspiring me. ❤

Amazing ensemble playing!!! The accentuation of the down bows is so sharp (not intonation sharp 😅) and really gives this winter a harsh, unforgiving feeling!
Beautiful. So much practise from such a young age has provided such a sublime, fluid and seemingly effortless performance. Vivaldi would have been happy to witness this.
