I have watched this before, and liked and commented, and I rewatched it now. I have applied some of these and I have forgotten about others. Thanks for these! They are amazing, and they do make a difference!
I've used double click for format painter for a very long time. It is useful if you are tying out data from the spreadheet to something else. You have format painter locked and loaded and you can highlight numbers you've match.
Greate content, Mynda, as alwasy! Here is one of my favourite: If in Excel Options/Advanced 'Allow editing directly in cells' untucked then double clicking on a cell contains reference to an another cell(s) we can jump right to the first referenced cell. Works not only trough worksheets but workbooks too. Even if it closed makes opening it the fastest way I know. On formulas referencing other cells only on the active worksheet, double clicking selects all the referenced cells.
Double clicking the dialog box instead of clicking "ok" is a game changer. And I have definitely had a few "double click" conversations with my parents :).
oohhhh amazing. double click to copy format painter its amazing jajajaja curious things, you are a master! i discover your channel yesterday... i have a lot of work to see all of your videos!
Nice video. The ribbon collapse shortcut was something new I learnt. There is one more pretty cool shortcut of copying the summary of values in the status bar and pasting them anywhere you want. Very useful.
Great! Been using a few of these but some I didn’t know about, like hiding the ribbon. I’ve currently got the Quick Access bar full of the stuff I use the most and the ribbon just hidden altogether, but it’s always tempting to see if I can make my workflow more efficient.
Thanks loads Mynda. I often use the Format Painter for multiple selections, but honestly, I really get tired of the double-click. I searched for a method to create a button that with one pick would simulate the double-click action. Could not find anything, even looking in Options. So, onward double-clicking soldiers marching to excessive format changes. If you know of a method to enable such a button without the use of VBA that would be great.
Very useful hints, Mynda! I've already heard of double-clicking format painter to format several cells or rows at a time, and to copy formulas to other cells in the same column. I loved the insert of that series, I guess it's "Modern Family", isn't it? Laughing a lot with the "double click"! 😆😅🤣
Formula auditing has a few double-click shortcuts: 1. Double-clicking on the line (arrows) to a precedent or dependent cell activates that cell. Double-clicking again jumps back (activates) the previously active cell. 2. Double-clicking on the dotted line to a precedent or dependent cell on another worksheet displays the Go To dialogue listing the relevant cell(s).
Fav - Contextual Ribbon Tab. Surprised double clicking Copy brings up the Clipboard (history) which can be essential for building formulas, especially LAMBDA functions.
Love that tip, Jerry, except it doesn't work for me. Clicking the launch arrow in the Clipboard group brings up the clipboard history pane in my version of Excel.
When i create a range with my mouse or arrow keys, the total sum appears in the status bar at the bottom (as is the average and total count) but is there a keyboard shortcut that copies the total amount to the clipboard so i can paste the amount somewhere else? Please without VB because that has been blocked by the IT department for security reasons. Such a shortcut would really be helpful. Thanks for your content!
Some would argue that the GUI was the birth of the computing revolution. There are those that believe it was the birth of the "techtard" (as demonstrated in the ending clip 🤣). Productivity necessitates the use of both keyboard and mouse. Great reminders Mynda!
Hello, Super useful as always - thank you very much! Big fan of the newsletter and channel here. Side question - do you know how to enable custom toolbars (activated by adding the script sheets in the XLStart folder) in the 365 version of Excel? I noticed that with the latest version my keyboard shortcuts I have made and other custom toolbars (i.e. for generating tables and formatting etc) do not work anymore.
Great to hear, thank you! Please post your question and Excel file on our VBA forum where someone can help you further: www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-forum
Hi I am very confused with my data. I have the same data(Pizza category, each pizza quantity, price) in two different sheets. in one sheet pizza with quantity & in other pizza with price but pizza name is shuffled. I want to match the pizza and their price. Any video
Hi Fayyaz, you can use XLOOKUP if you have Excel 2021 or 365 (www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-xlookup-function), or VLOOKUP if you have an earlier version of Excel: www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-vlookup-formulas-explained
Great teaching video (as usual), BUT Mynda goes from tip to tip too quickly for me to follow and absorb. I find this true of most, if not all, of her videos. She clearly is an articulate MVP, but I would never hire her except for in-person training, where students could slow the pace down with questions..
Thanks for the feedback, Elliot. Please try using the cog icon to slow down the playback speed if they're too fast, and of course, watch again if required. Don't forget the quick reference guide available from the video description.
This is the BEST "click bait"... Favorite? Would be like picking a favorite child. Each has wonderful properties that can be used at the right time in the right way. Thank you! Now double clicking would be like a chicken pecking for food...quick and stochastic...peck..peck...click click.

There's no way to do this without VBA, unfortunately.

Not a keyboard shortcut, but you can simply single left click the value in the status bar, and it will be copied to the clipboard 😉

Has Microsoft made a change or something recently because when I double click the Format Painter, it doesn't seem to stay. Any thoughts please? Thanks
That's very odd. It still works for me.

The double click scene in the end happened to me when I tried to teach my grand mother to double click with a mouse 😂
Too funny!
Double click on:
excel icon
empty zone on title
title of sheet
What else? 🤔
Nice 👍
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub Now we have light and i've noticed that there is no more icon in excel. It was system menu which you can call with Alt+Space.
I still have the Excel icon.

Not double-click secret, but you can switch between Ribbon tabs by using mouse wheel when cursor is on Ribbon

Glares accusingly at the format painter... "You told me I could only format paint things one at a time...."
😂 glad it was helpful!
I would double click if I could only find the any key !
😂 too funny!
Ahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Double Click !!! Not Two Clicks !!!!
😁
