    The reasons for doing the passport checks twice is so you don't have to complete UK Customs in London and walk off the train as a domestic passenger. The first passport control is the French Border people stamping you out of the EU and then the British Border Force complete their checks so you have technically officially entered the UK. Hope that helps.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! Yeah, we figured that out once we got to London since they did not check anything there.

    • @grassytramtracks
      @grassytramtracks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Customs actually happens afterwards or onboard. In the EU, there was no customs, and there aren't agreements to carry out customs checks beforehand. You have to go through the red or green channel (something to declare/nothing to declare) at the end, and officers might do random checks on your goods at the destination or on the train

    Its not really a complete guide. Because the video isnt as detailed. How did you find your train? Which platform? Where is the area of security? What coach number? How did you find your seat? Which entrance did you use? And so many many things missing. Guess ill find it in somewhere else.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a lot of luggage because we carry our camera equipment and some other things we have to promote. So it's half business and half leisure trip. If we didn't have to take the extra stuff, we could definitely pack lighter.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
