I wanna ask, how do you guys get compliments? Is it like when you're going out and when people smell you they tell you that you smell good? I'm just wondering here because if that's how you get compliments it's somehow weird to me, or maybe it"s just because in my society people aren't social enough to compliment others for their smell
For me, the highest form of compliment in terms of fragrances is an unsolicited comment about how good I smell or when somebody discovers my scent and comments, usually by a comment like "somebody smells really good!". This just makes my day every time!

Omg, so glad Givenchy Gentleman Cologne made it to your #1 spot. It really is a fantastic fragrance. Just getting into Iris, and so glad that I did. It's perfect for this Texas heat mixed with those citruses on top.
Surprisingly the most complimented fragrance i even had is: Lacoste White!!! I used that fragrances just because my wife loves so much - sadly i don't like it, but i receive losta compliments whenever i wear it! I bought a bottle for my brother because he like to get compliments from ppl around.. It's a cheap fragrance btw

I do own. Givenchy gentleman cologne and coach platinum. You were right. Another flanker that totally surprised me with the amount of compliments i received is ARMAF HUNTER INTENSE. The perfect mix of Sauvage and Invictus. EVERYTIME i wear this fragrance i receive compliments. At work, outside, in the club (very effective in the club).

Every time I try edition Blanche in duty free I just can’t get my nose to like it. It’s very citrus. I used to feel the same way about eau extreme and it grew on me. I love the guerlain but gosh the longevity is crap. I have started using bdp edt as a hot weather scent/gym and I find it works well
Trini Flyer868 I don’t like Blanche as well. L’homme ideal Cologne or Dior Homme Cologne are way better and don’t pierce my nose like Blanche with the aggressive citrus....

Believe it or not, one of my most complemented Summer fragrances is YSL Y EDP. Works great for me. Fantastic performance and projection. It's actually my SOTD! 😊

If you like Guerlain l'homme ideal Cologne.. you should check out l'homme ideal cool. It's quite minty, but has good performance and sillage. I like it
You should check out Gucci Made to Measure. It's not a loud fragrance or a performer but it's nice, I think since you like Dior Homme you might like it. It's not similar to that but maybe the same way or reason you would use Dior Homme, you could use Gucci Made to Measure and it be different (though it's not a unique scent) you can pick it up $40 to $60. It's a subtle scent. Maybe 5 hour scent, 2 hour projection but a subtle, close projection

Ambergris and ambroxan definitely give off a very oceanic vibe. As far as the dead fish and dry seaweed, I’m guessing you are thinking of the coastline of an ocean and maybe one that’s not the cleanest or maybe does not have the most healthy ecosystem. If you are out from the shoreline you should not be smelling dead fish and dry seaweed.
Idk I live in île de ré (ré Island, France) at 100 meters from the Atlantic Ocean and I can tell you this smell is not something you would want to find in your perfume
Thanks for the great list! I’ve been planning on adding Coach Platinum to the collection for this fall. Thinking about grabbing Boss Bottled Intense EDP as well. And Marine Aqva is a killer for compliments for me too. Totally wouldn’t expect it, but last week got an insane compliment on it.
Love the Coach Platinum. My gf hated it on me on first spray, said it was too feminine. Later we walked out to the car to leave, the wind kicked up and she asked if it was the same cologne. She loves it now.

Man I’m having a little trouble. How can I spray and where can I spray I’m trying to make it when I walk by somebody they smell me I’ve tried everything.
I really need to smell L'homme Ideal Cologne on someone because when I got a sample and sprayed it on a cotton pad to test it out I honestly almost threw up from the smell. Almond, almond blossom and heliotrope are all notes that smell so gross to me in perfume form, but I can handle those notes in hand soap and lotion form for some reason. L'homme Ideal Cologne smelled like sickeningly sweet playdough mixed with orange bathroom cleaner to me. Shockingly bad coming from a venerated house like Guerlain.
Brother you are spot on. It's all subjective. Some of the most bomb ass fragrances I believe Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme, Aqua Di Gio Profumo etc my wife can't STAND. So I just tell her she smells like shit and doesn't know what she's talking about lmao 😂

If you get compliments wearing Sauvage, you should go ahead and buy you a bottle of Brut and try wearing it. Sauvage is bascially Brut with molasses added to it? Their names are similar too. A savage is a brutish person.

That's exactly how it happens. I had a lady a few weeks ago stop me to ask what cologne I was wearing because she loved it. It happens.
Facts: If you're ugly it doesn't matter how good you smell, you won't get compliments. You'll still smell good though.

Same. For me it smells great when sniffing the atomizer but on me it's a dirty sharp orange. Surprisingly my best compliment getter.

Eau doesnt really work tbh... it smells like a tamed down version of Fierce. Also it reminds me of a cloudy dark rainy day for some reason.

No! The Dior is actually much different in the dry down and actually smells better to me. And I love Prada l'homme
Eau is more lipsticky and l‘homme is more powdery. I prefer l‘homme but I am quite young
