BRO ( Border Road Organization) which maintains all these high altitude roads are the GOAT. They have built amazing roads in these harsh terrains when the government cant build good roads in mainland. And the shots are unreal. amazing!!

It's a high altitude desert with only water source of melted snow-water. It rains very little due to the Ladakh region being in Himalaya's rain-shadow.

One advantage you have over petrol bikes is that yours doesn't need oxygen so you have the same performance through out the climb. Great content love these nail biting videos. Respect for doing it on an electric bike. It would have been so easy to just rent a petrol bike and do this part of India but you chose the more adventurous route.
Huge respect to BRO. However, credit is also due to the labourers who work tirelessly in the harshest of conditions. I got talking to a few people at a place where they were clearing a landslide. The labourers come from as far as Bihar and Assam. They get Rs. 300 per day (back in 2016 ). They live in makeshift tents made from the drums, exposed to the cold and dryness and altitude.
On these high mountains Heavy vehicles removes their air Filter or something to get more power or Oxygen, I don’t know the proper thing But this is probably the Reason for BLACK smoke from exhaust..
