This is by far the most beautiful and luxurious container home I have ever seen. Very nice interior design, very trendy. I am normally not a fan of the color orange but that fridge is gorgeous. The designers have put a lot of attention to detail. THe outside is as breathtaking as the inside. As someone like me who has worked nearly 25 years at sea, I feel more and more that a container home would be ideal for me.
I loved all the design except that ugly bathroom. I personally dislike (my opinion of course) the white wall tiles in the bathroom and it seems to be a trend because I see more and more people doing it. Is there maybe some other reason they are using these tiles for functional purposes?
The one flaw I never see addressed properly in these container homes, especially ones built in locations that see cold winters, is proper insulation. Being a steel exterior, they're going to soak up the cold. This is going to cause moisture problems inside of the walls. Wood studs would be a super bad idea in these locations. Metal studs would conduct heat/cold even worse if they're touching the outside steel wall. I just don't see these container homes lasting very long in locations that switch from hot to cold regularly. I see a lot of rot and moisture/mold problems inside the walls. Regardless if closed cell spray foam is used or not. The studs still present a problem because of the steel exterior.

@@mlk4life usually more per sqft than traditional construction, it is harder to find tradesmen who know how to work with metal etc. Also those beams etc are $$$$.
This is in MY back yard! (well 20 min away) I HIGHLY recommend that you all look up Old Man's Cave as a tourist destination in good ole SE Ohio! There are log cabin rentals, campgrounds galore and it's a beautiful place to visit year round!

Danielle Andrade I really like the one that has the guest house too, the only thing I didn’t like was how small the bedrooms were. I’d change that if I were to build that home, but everything else I loved. There’s also a beautiful one in Sweden that is rented out as an Air BnB it’s owned by a Swedish design company like IKEA. Have you seen the couple that built the 3 storey one in New Orleans? I’ve only been able to see a video where they show bits of it. I’d love to see the whole home from top to bottom.

From an article I read online, the owners said it costs $180,000 for the build. However, they also mentioned her father owns a construction company and they helped with the work as well. So I would think if you are hiring ALL the work out, it would cost you $200,000
Ok..., it is obvious that, yes, you can built a very nice house with shipping containers. My issue is, affordability! The question athand, can you built something close to this but how much will it cost? Am sure that very nice homes can be built for lot less, and of course, the owner doing 80-90% of the building.
Ahmed Caraballo It is my understanding that a shipping container building, in most cases, costs about the same to build as traditional construction. That said, they are also fireproof, earthquake proof, hurricane proof, and flood proof. In my opinion, better than traditional construction.

Just when I thought I've seen them all, a new one for me. I'm not a fan of spiral staircases, but they make sense in terms of saving space since property taxes are based on square footage.
Cost is anywhere from $1200 to $4500 a container, that isn't counting shipping containers and dropping off on the bought land you purchased as well. Numbers add up. Let us not forget the property taxes on the home you pay. If you paid off home which very well be, then you pay property taxes yourself and is to your local government then, so i read.

Being a short-term air bnb I understand the lack of closet space. To make it a long-term livable space closets need to be added and a laundry room. I love the look of this place though.
