    This is the first I've seen of these boats. They look incredible. More exciting than sailing Hobie cats. Subbed.

    Great race, but why no footage from onboard Record Point showing how they ended up upside down?

    Euroflex are back! They weren't in the last series, good to see that sky-blue rocket ship sailing heads above the rest. Does anyone know why there might be an advantage to using a smaller mainsail? It was clearly the wrong choice, but I'm not sure why there would be a tactical advantage.

    One of the commentators is a living pun. Getting loads wrong but entertaining all the same.

    Another great race. And I have a question: Why is wind called a “pressure”? I’ve heard of lulls, lifts, backs, gusts and steady but not pressure until (rather knowledgable) Australian commentators used the term.

    • @stujd1539
      @stujd1539 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just another term used to describe more wind, i.e, a gust, coming.

      Just another wank word. It's just wind ...

    • @davechilling8139
      @davechilling8139 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very common among racers - what's the pressure like? do we have more pressure on the left or right? Good pressure. See Terry Hutchison tactician on TH-cam to see example of it being used on big boats (tp52)

    • @oneskydog4401
      @oneskydog4401 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wind only happens with a pressure differential blowing from high pressure to low pressure seen as isobars on the map. They are trying to surf the pressure wave between the air masses.

    If you watch from 1:20 you'll see Tech2 is to leeward, just, and overtaking, therefore did not have any luffing rights. Bad call by the umpire.

    • @170221dn
      @170221dn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If they are leeward then they are not clear astern so windward boat must keep clear. Before the start so there is no proper course so tech 2 could luff head to wind (so long as they let Euroflex respond). There is no such rule as overtaking boat.

    What's with this new habit of calling wind "pressure"?

    Great sailing. However the skill required is no different from sailing slow dinghies or yachts
