Well done guy's a good vid, we are lucky to have an area like the Pin to fish, flathead in Summer Bream through winter, keep up the good work Liam. cheers mate.
been wanting to land a big croc on a lure for quite some time now and im keen as to start making youtube vids and even a series searching for monsters flatties so this has given me plenty of inspo.
Hey mate i went and brought the bp50 aka bream prawn 50 was chasing bream and ended up with a couple of flathead they cant seem to get enough of the bp50. I watch your videos and saw you them and catch stuff so i tried and they are amazing
Liam Fitzpatrick absolutely I haven’t found a fish I enjoy more for a long while now. Hope you enjoyed your feed from this one although a few more might have been better for you 😀
Also have you moved houses or something? Closer to cabbage tree, because you've been doing a lot of videos lately around my local area and waterways which is great because I can learn off a better fisherman. Keep up the great work mate! 👍🏻
@@LiamFitzpatrick yeh even though it's just up the we haven't really hit up the water near jacobs well and cabbage tree but definately gonna go there more often from here on out. But also I've really wanted to catch a jewie on a lure but never had the chance, after you've conquered the big flatty could you do some videos targeting Jews? Thanks for the info and reply really appreciate it 👍🏻
Great video. I love that you had a go using a glide / swimbait for flathead in the shallows. Its my goal to catch a metre flathead in the shallows. Its a hunt and it takes perseverance. I have had some early Spring success using Lucky Craft Pointer 78 suspending in water under a metre. The wind can be your friend in shallow but its a pain for casting.
Yeah I have no doubt I’ll encounter a big fish over the next month using this technique mate. It’s just time on water and confidence in what you’re doing.
Haha yeah that’s the way. And when you have those big epic days sometimes if you play it right you get a few videos out of it. Cool man enjoying your vids, making me miss Ozzie while I’m stuck in NZ. Though if you’ve seen any of my stuff, the trout and kingfish here are somewhat keeping me occupied. Tight lines bro
There are a few as it one of the creeks we stock and is part of the creek closures. Problem is it’s one of those shallow, rocky systems with only a few deep stretches that hold fish and very little public access to fish. It’s good for a few big breeding pairs to do their thing and hopefully the progeny can spread though out the catchment.
@@LiamFitzpatrick awsome to see you guys putting in the hard yards to help maintain healthy bass populations in creeks and rivers systems. Really admire your work mate
@@LiamFitzpatrick i usually come up alrght running 14lb fc for jerkbaits and placcies, those teeth can do some damage on 6-8lb leaders, anything over 10lb i find they struggle to rub through. again depends where they are hooked though. a lure that has been working really well for me of late is the bassday sugardeeps, get a few if you havent already, have saved some sessions brah !
Try trolling for them along the edge of the deep, it is quite affective, especially to find them. Some big girls around your area, wish I could come up that way
Yeah I’ve always trolled my old mans lures for flathead, that’s always a sure fire way to catch a feed. Chuck out a Lively Lures Micro Mullet and sit back and wait, it doesn’t take long.

Liam. cheers mate.
Thanks for watching mate. I know we’re a lucky bunch here in Queensland.
Good vid mate makes me keen to hook into some flat skulls now that Spring is here! 🤙
Stay tuned mate. Big flat ones on glide baits coming soon.
@@LiamFitzpatrick Sounds good mate!! Keen as. I just bought a savage gear glide bait to use on the flats 👌
Can I ask which video transition you use ? So good ! Almost matching both clips perfectly!
It’s just a cross blur mate.
@@LiamFitzpatrick cool

That’s awesome mate. I rarely set goals but the goal is set and big flat ones are coming.
Great video Liam and good to see you actually keeping a feed
Yeah I don’t mind keeping a few every now and the.
Another great video lots of info and a few target fish caught. Loving your videos thank you.
Thanks for watching Rad Zac 👊🏻
Ever use the holt prawns ? Herd they good for flatty and other fish. What size line u use for them ?
I got a heap of packs mate. When fishing plastics for just legal size stuff I throw 10lb braid and 12lb leader.
Awesome as always mate !!!!!
Cheers mate.

Yeah they go alright mate.
Cracking intro into the video. Has me motivated to get out again. Been too long since I visited the Logan for a feed of flatties..
Yeah I’ll be doing this for the next few sessions I reckon mate. Couple of flatty tails don’t go astray.
Liam Fitzpatrick absolutely I haven’t found a fish I enjoy more for a long while now. Hope you enjoyed your feed from this one although a few more might have been better for you 😀
Those ones went to the old girl. She’s been hounding me for ages for a feed.
Hey mate, what line are you using?
For my plastics I’m running 10lb J Braid on one rod and 10lb Kairiki on another.

Na just putting in a bit of time down that way over the next month or so mate. Going to crack a big flathead on a glide bait so it’s the place to be.
@@LiamFitzpatrick yeah good call, caught an 80cm on logan just on a little slim swimz. But yeah cabbage tree is a great spot
I know a few key areas from over the years but just never really put the time in to only target them.

Have you thought about doing much tailor fishing before they fuck off, me and my mate have had a couple of good sessions on the plastics with em
Not really mate. Not a massive fan but I am keen for a session off some rocks somewhere chasing anything that’s about.
@@LiamFitzpatrick yeah they're bloody pests with their sharp chompers
Great video mate love then should have a video out soon mate
Nice one mate.
Bro. I’m beginning to wonder how much you work v fishing lol! 3 a week man the editing must fill your nights lol! Good shit keep it up man
Yeah you know it mate. I figured just pump it while I can and fish as much as I can, whenever I can.

Wheres the bass content liam, I'm missing the creek bashing vids, however I still love the saltwater vids btw, keep up the good work
I’m staying out of the creeks until the cod season wraps up. Even though I can legally fish my local for bass its just not ethical.
@@LiamFitzpatrick yea I spose your doing the right thing by letting the cod breed, good on ya. Any fish in canungra creek?

Sick video, where in Aus are you based?
South East Queensland mate. Gold Coast hinterland pretty much.
You keep hunting you can find the illusive flathead the. Like the one you caught at Fraser Island
I’ll get the dog 🤣
Liam Fitzpatrick yes you will
Hudgy Boys Cheers for the confidence boost mate.
drag is worse then timmys ;D
Light leader and I’m pretty sure I say I’m backing it of as there is no need to horse em mate.
