Wilhelm/Vasyl von Habsburg was born of all places in Lošinj, Croatia! A fantastic figure who really did love Ukraine. I hope Ukraine, along with all the Habsburg lands of Central Europe one day stand as a bloc to protect our interests because noone else will! Viribus Unitis!
As a Ukrainian, I support the Habsburg restoration above all others. They had strong ties to Ukraine, have Riurik blood and, most importantly, the love between Ukrainian people under Habsburg rule and Habsburgs was mutual! Long live monarchist Ukraine! Многая літа Королю! 🇺🇦👑🦁
I just recently discovered the history of Wilhelm of Austria. I am genuinely curious and so I would like to ask you. How widespread is monarchist movement in Ukraine? Is it something specific to some areas of Ukraine? Can we say there exist anlink between uniatism as a religion, banderism as a political ideology, and Wilhelm/Vasyl? Not judging. Just extremely curious.
@@husseinbonaud1883 first, there's no such thing as "banderism". Second, monarchist movement here is pretty much dead. I mean, I know plenty of people who'd support it but the majority of the population is either completely indifferent to the issue or is completely ignorant about the cause (they still believe in Soviet lies about the system and equate monarchy to feudalism). The question is simply never being presented at the state level, nobody takes it seriously, no major movement supporting it.. I do believe though that it is going to change with our victory in the war, but there's still a lot of work to do, a lot of people to educate
@@andriy8797 wow I wasn't expecting an answer anymore. How influential was Wilhelm of Habsburg in the construction of the ukrainian identity would you say? Did he actively contribute to building it or did he just hope onboard the wagon? I'm asking for your opinion as a Ukrainian. It is quite hard to find complete information about this character online.
@@husseinbonaud1883 he was fighting for it alongside regular Ukrainian people (who gave him his nickname in the first place). He was very vocal for Ukrainian rights, but the Soviet propaganda made it sure that he and his heroism would be forgotten or underestimated. I mean, he is viewed favorably here. If only he actually was a King and if only did he leave heirs.. (TH-cam doesn't notify me of replies, just likes. Lol)
I think you’ve missed somebody out on the family tree, Karl Ferdinand was Archduke Wilhelm’s grandfather. Wilhelm’s father was Grand Admiral, Archduke Karl Stephan.
Thanks for noticing, just double-checked video against the "Lines of Succession" by Maclagan and Louda. Not sure how this slipped! Will make sure to address this in future videos on Habsburgs.
Can you make a video on the countries who are most likely to become monarchies in near future...... Perhaps there wouldn't be a lot but who knows......😁
Ukranian monarchist movements declare Gregor Rozumovsky direct heir to the last Hetman of first hetmanate and a political activist an heir to ukranian throne
My wildest take is to make Volodymyr Zelensky king of Ukraine as King Volodymyr I, obviously as a constitutional monarch. Oh, and someone better set his daughter up with some prince or noble boy as her future prince consort.
Maybe Archduke Wilhelm von Habsburg would have been a good king for Ukraine. But I think if Unkraine suddenly want to become a kingdom again, the people shouldn't choose someone from a family of foreigners (like the Habsburg for exemple) like the western powers had done the new countrys of the Balkan region. In my eyes the most promissing candidate would be Volodymyr Zelensky. After all who would be the best fonder of a new dynastie than a man who would probable become a national hero for all the efforts he mades (and participate in doing) to save Ukraine against the tyrannical Putin and his dangerous army. But I doute he would accept the offer.

Also I kinda started looking at Glucksburgs as a possible substitute of the Habsburgs. But, that's a topic for another discussion

Would you rather a Dynasty that hasn’t ruled for 1000 years or a dynasty that represents a man who devoted his life and eventually death to Ukraine
Honestly I'd pick both by just having the heirs bang

There is the option of choosing the Skoropadsky dynasty, descended from the last Hetman of Ukraine.

@@themonarchistchannel No problem, he was a candidate for the Polish throne, you could maybe use that in a “who would be King of Poland” video.

There are numerous families that go back way beyond the Habsburgs and the Romanovs, and that are cadet branches of the Rurikids. Pick one of them.

There was also the Hetmanate possiblity
If the Habsburgs rule Ukraine, then Ukraine and Austria will unite as one big country, reviving the Austrian Empire.
Romanovs also oppose Russia
Whoever will be restored Monarch of the Romanovs of course. No questions needed
If Ukraine wishes to restore its monarchy, the monarch should be Ukrainian, not an Austrian-Hapsburg...

There is no king of ukraine, there is king of Poland
A relative of Bandera 🤭🥱 would suit best for king of Ukraine lol
