This was my dad's favorite song. He would turn the album on and play it over and over. He passed in 1999. A few years after I bought myself a little wind up musical horse. I brought it home without knowing the song was on it. I Wound it up and "Feelings" came on. RIP Dad! Xxoo

The mid to late 70s were an unbelievably beautiful absolutely insanely incredibly wonderful time to be alive. Such joyous experiences, the music , everything. Just such an awesome atmosphere everywhere. Maybe it's just because I was a child I dint know but I think they would've been as great a times whatever age I was . Everything was just so lovely . I'd give anything to go back to those days and be able to stay there forever. Nothing outside of my own country , no disrespect to other places , but all I needed was within my own country's borders.

In my opinion, I feel that this song would go perfect for the annual remembrances of the 9/11 attacks (including the one coming up for the 21st anniversary). It brings out all the meanings of sadness, pain, and basically all broken emotions everyone feels for what was done to those who died and perished on that horrific day back in 2001. Older songs like these and others have endless meanings that the newer ones of today don’t have.
My mom had a snow globe that had a music box in it. i broke the snow globe along time ago and the music box survived and i just was trying to find the original song. now i found the song it makes me cry its really deep to me ill forever cherish this song in my heart.

I've had this for over 10 years and the song on the music box has always moved me but i never knew the original song. It was around 1982 and I took a friend out for her birthday. She wanted to dance and this song came on. It was the one and only time we danced. A short time later, she asked if we could live together but I had to say no. I had known her for years and in that time, she had 2 boyfriends she lived with. Both times she cheated on them and knew she'd cheat on me, so I said no. She moved to Tacoma Washington to live with a guy she had met at a party. We kept in touch through the mail, then one day, her boyfriend called to say she was in the hospital with a broken neck. She had gone to her brother's wedding in Stockton California and met a guy who gave her a ride. He was horsing around, spun out and hit a tree. Her boyfriend said she was paralyzed from the neck down. I caught a Greyhound Bus that day to ask her to marry me fearing her boyfriend would leave her. Her boyfriend loved her so I didn't have to ask and dodged a bullet. This song always makes me think of her.

One of those songs I used to hear and liked in the seventies of last Century and that is still good to hear. We all have feelings whether we show them or not. Sometimes we can show them others we cannot or should not. But they are there within ourselves. And there are many times we feel something for somebody who either could not care less about us, or to whom it is better not to relate at all. Beautiful song and sung with so much feeling and depth.

The "Billboard Year End Hot 100" lists this song at number 46 for the year, but where I grew up, this song was THE BIGGEST hit of 1975! It was everywhere,...on the radio, on television, played on records, played at just about every wedding I attended by every wedding band. There wasn't any person in my circle that did not know this song. My male friends and I would even sing it mockingly to each other when we felt someone was being overly sensitive about something. It is rather amazing that a song that was so ubiquitous back then, has basically disappeared and now many people have never even heard it. Although I kind of grew tired of the song back then, I have fond memories of slow dancing to it many, many times at weddings, baby showers, parties, and various social get-togethers. Those moments were wonderful and fleeting, and sadly wasted on my youthful innocence.
Feelings something most of us have and sometimes can find no real explanation for. We love some people and no matter how convenient it may seem we cannot love others. Sometimes we feel happy others sas or moody and try as we might we find no logical reason for that. So we must accept them and live with them.

If you weren't around at the time, you probably can't understand how *massive and inescapable* this song was. Nobody would admit to liking it yet it was _constantly_ playing - radio, television, you name it. I remember a NATIONAL LAMPOON cartoon: a pianist in a piano bar, with a bored look on his face, and on the piano are two dishes. One had a sign that read REQUESTS $1, and the other said "FEELINGS" $500. It was that kind of a song.
I've often wondered about Morris Albert, the Brazilian one-hit wonder responsible for Feelings. It was as if the earth had opened up and swallowed him whole - that was how completely he disappeared after that. You would think he'd earned a king's ransom in royalties and spent the next 40 years on a beach somewhere, but the 70s was the heyday of the Crooked Manager and the Scumbag Lawyer, particularly in the music business, so - quien sabe?
