I will 100% do a follow up 🙌🏽. We are at the 4 week stage now in real time, I have delayed the “after” video as up in Scotland we got hit with 10 days of freak snow and frost 🤦🏻♂️. Since then I have went back for an over seed just incase. Hopefully I will get a video up in the next two Weeks for the follow up now the weather is better 💪🏽🌱
Thanks mate ! Hopefully the temps Pick up nicely after this unforeseen cold spell we are due to get. Your doing great stuff by the way mate, loving the content 👍🏼🌱
Great vid pal, did the same to my lawn last weekend, 👍🏼 hopefully it will still germinate with this cold weather coming. Looking forward to seeing the progress 👍🏼
Nice effort Ian !🙌🏽. Yes as long as it doesn’t last for too long there is a good chance it will still germinate afterwards, if not then just overseed when the temps are back up 😄🌱
Great video. I’ve scarfied and aerator my lawn and raked in a layer of top soil I put my seed down but still no germination after 8 days! Would it just take long her to to weather
Yes Charlie, I’ve noticed the germination rate is very low at the moment ! Sounds like your doing everything right, you will probably find after 1-2 weeks of decent weather it will all of a sudden come through, if not then just simply give an overseed and keep up the watering 🙌🏽🌱. It will come 😄
Thank you Joseph & thanks for commenting ! 🌱. Honest review - absolutely brilliant. Loads of power, no blocking, good on fuel and does a great job. Only thing that took me a while to get right was the height adjustment but now that I’ve used it a few times that’s no longer an issue 🙌🏽🌱
Thank you very much Michael😄🌱, I cannot remember the exact make but it was one from my local garden centre, roughly around £15-£20. But to be honest I really don’t rate it, and would suggest a garden fork would do a better job unless you have something below 30 m/2 and can keep unblocking it.
Cheers jay have been contemplating the yard butler or the Kent and Stowe version I can’t justify the £100+ for the swardman was wondering if cutting into the tines and welding the tops might make a difference so the cores come out the front of the tines like the swardman
I believe that would be the best choice mate, definitely something I’m going to try when I get time, just leave enough so it can plug an inch and then the rest can be the ejector 💪🏽🌱
Looking to purchase this weibang scarifier myself for my business but just doing some research on it first. I see you have had it a while as this is an old video, can you still recommend it? Any niggles or problems? Great content thankyou as always, Barry.
Hi Barry thanks for commenting ! I’ve used it quite a bit since and I really do love this machine ! It’s fantastic and everything I need in a scarifier, if you check through my videos there is some larger properties which it has taken skip fulls out of 👍🏼🌱
Hi Kevin ! Thank you very much for commenting. I have rough prices on how long certain processes take. - Scarification is roughly 3.5 x the grass cutting amount - waste removal + time - fertiliser, seed & top dressing all gets priced by their gross price + a little extra for myself for buying/ storing/ transporting/ organising materials. - I then look at how long each process takes and add a Labour charge alongside. - this small garden isn’t a good example as it was so small it was nothing but if you look through a couple of bigger ones I have done with their follow up videos in the description 🙂. A garden around 250m/2 can easily cost in excess of £400-£800 to the customer depending on materials etc. Which should bring a £200-£300 profit +
Excellent video! Very informative ☺️
Thank you !😄🌱
Amazing how much moss comes out of one small area. Look forward to the follow up video mate.
Definitely ! Considering it’s only 21m/2, always surprises me for some reason 😂. Fingers crossed that this frost passes quick and stays away 🤞🏽
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance snow for Scotland mate 🙈
@@scottellwoodgardening287 oh I know 🙄 this time last year we had a heat wave and less than 2mm rain, typical !
Can you please do a follow up video after 4 weeks and again sometime during the summer.

Grand video jay may I ask which manual aerator your using ?

This was a top soil mate just to aid germination
После третьего внимательного просмотра , решение принято: ПОДПИСЫВАЮСЬ !!!
Thank you!😄
How did the lawn turn out after one month .
This was only filmed just over a week ago, I’m going to do a follow up video once it’s came through 👍🏼🌱
Hey Sam, how do you price these lawn transformation jobs?
Hi Kevin ! Thank you very much for commenting.
I have rough prices on how long certain processes take.
- Scarification is roughly 3.5 x the grass cutting amount
- waste removal + time
- fertiliser, seed & top dressing all gets priced by their gross price + a little extra for myself for buying/ storing/ transporting/ organising materials.
- I then look at how long each process takes and add a Labour charge alongside.
- this small garden isn’t a good example as it was so small it was nothing but if you look through a couple of bigger ones I have done with their follow up videos in the description 🙂.

Thanks so much for the detail! Appreciate it. Really enjoying all the content.
That’s brilliant Kevin, hopefully I can continue to bring more your way !
