Things in the RC truck world have changed a lot since the days when I used to race my truck (an electric RC10T by Team Associate.) But back when I built my 10T people were encouraged to buy and build their RC's unlike the stuff you show on your channel that comes RTR. We could get RTR of course but it wasn't always the best way to buy and was normally more expensive. I think what your doing on your channel is great it as you have said time and time again gets people started. and there is always some company some where making aftermarket parts that will improve the RC vehicle. There is a lot to be said about a RC owner that chooses to build their own model kit over the owner that buy's the RTR version of the same model. A good example would be the two RTR model in this video. to start with the black one looks bigger than the silver one.and I bet if you pulled the wheels off both of them you'd find the black one has sealed bearing on the axles and the silver one has a brass bushing. my 10T had 27 sealed titanium bearing, titanium tie rods and matching connectors. but I built mine up from the basic 10T kit over time. these kits you show for $200.00 or more should have those things in them already if their a serious RC truck no matter what company makes it. Honestly Nate send that silver one back you deserve better get the pro version you'll be much happier.
I got my sport through amazon and rear bumper was bent same way called amazon they gave me 40 dollars off just told them it was damaged in shipping no questions asked instant discount fixed it with 2 small zip ties on each side straightend right up use the holes on bumper mount poles go around tower easy free wont even notice i was bummed till amazon discount so was 160 for truck love it
I just bought an Everest PRO (eBay $269) and have driven it in gravel, rain and snow in first 3 hours without issues. It's a very decent rig so far, ready out of box (+4AA), with a quality NiMh battery included. Realizing I wanted to keep this RedCat Everest Pro FOREVER (lol), I started upgrading it. First I bought solid stainless Drivelines $12, then a CNC Al Servo Horn $6, then a Light Bar (scale) above cab $11, then a new NiMh battery. The Transmitter is basic, but functional and applied Grip Strips to make it feel expensive. I ordered a new Axle set (F+R) of CNC metal construction, w/easily removable covers (not Portals). After that I'll have nothing to do but drive it and place decals on the windows. It's very mod-able RC with maybe 7 mph top speed unless you play w/the gearing. There's plenty of stock config. power for climbing, with run times way over an hour so w/ HexFly 3000 7.2v NiMh. If you've seen the prices on the 1/10 Scale 4 x 4 RC from Axial or Traxxas, you'll look at these again.
Hey everyone! I bought the Sport version aka the cheaper one, and a major factor that the RC Saylors didn't discuss is A HUGE difference! Apart from the awesome scale accessories and the flip up body with the roll cage (which are all really awesome), is the ESC and transmitter. The PRO version has an ESC that has THREE SPEEDS, which makes A HUGE difference in crawlers. The Sport version has an ESC that is non programmable, and only has one speed. You'd have to replace it to get the same performance that the Pro version has out of the box. I've done the math, and even though my Sport version actually came with all the scale accessories except for the mud guards, rack and spare tire, it didn't have the awesome hinged body with the roll cage OR the adjustable powered ESC built in. So unless you CAN'T POSSIBLY afford the Pro model, I wouldn't recommend the Sport version. Just wait a few months and save up for the Pro model, which is an incredible deal for its scale details, electronic options and awesome flip up body. If you bought the Sport version and paid to upgrade it to all the functions of the Pro version, you'd pay at least another $200, as apposed to an extra $80 to get the Pro version that's all set up out of the box. Just save up and get the Pro, it's still ridiculously cheaper than any other comparable 10th scale crawler. Either are a great deal, but the Pro is really a steal.
Great review, this was very helpful. I've been eyeing this lately as a cheap way to get into the hobby, I have zero RC's right now but crawlers really appeal to me. Before going all out and sinking 500 bucks into a TRX4, at $200 the 7 Sport was very appealing. However, this review convinced me the Pro is in fact worth the extra money. Previously I thought the PRO was just cosmetic mods, but knowing there's a few functional upgrades sells me on it.
great video! im a few years late to the party, but i recently got the Gen 7 Pro and the rear bumper was barely screwed in. So even five years later it still happens. Even funnier is that after about a month I stripped all the fender walls and scale stuff off, and now it is a Sport version. If I had to do it again I would not have gotten the Pro. Again, great video!
I have the pro version and love it, but it’s not perfect. One of the biggest complaints was the amount of steering with the truck. Now I’ve noticed from watching that yours Nate, (the sport version you have) has the UPDATED steering that gives it much more where the pro version you have is the original steering setup. You can tell the difference because yours has a curved steering arm, which is the updated high steering setup and the pro version has a straight steering arm which is the original setup. Another difference between the two is the sport version has dog bone front axle where the pro version has cvd axles. There are a number of vids on TH-cam that explain the problem with steering and how to fix it very easily. Overall I love this truck. It’s my very first crawler and I have a blast with it.
Thanks for the very awesome feedback about the steering set up. I'll be sure to mention this too in my next video with the Pro version, as I hit return on my Sport last night ;-)
Answering your question at the end the Pro is a total win. The pro used to have better tires and foam too, not sure if they still do. There are a significant number of upgrades on the pro. I say return the sport and get the pro. Cant wait to see videos of you guys running them. They are serious crawling machines.
I've been hearing good things about these Redcat Gen 7's. The red D-hooks are no big deal to add, inexpensive and easy to find. They come in black too. The snorkel (for going in water) is air intake into the carburetor, not for the exhaust. --- I think I would prefer earth magnets to secure the body rather than velcro. I bought a mess of earth magnets so I can get rid of the body pins on my trucks, but haven't put them on yet. --- What I like about having inner wheel wells, even more than helping prevent mud and water from getting into the motor and electronics, is they "block the view" when taking video from low angles, so you don't see the servo, battery, electronics, wires and stuff, or see up and through the windows (if they're clear). I've seen people make DIY inner wheel wells using Gorilla tape. --- I looked at the redcatracing.com site and compared the Pro and Sport versions and I think you spotted all the differences. --- Ya, send that damaged Sport back and upgrade to the Pro. More detailed body, inner wheel wells, aluminum shocks, metal differential guards. I had been eyeballing the Team Associated Ford F-150 ever since you reviewed it awhile back. But I just don't like the black windows, or the wheels. They just came out with a new one, using the same chassis, with a much cooler body, a Toyota FJ45 pickup. On web only presale right now on their website RTR for $199. (I like the looks of the blue body better than the grey one. But... in the few videos I've seen the sun shined through the blue body real bad (though an hour or two of masking, and paint the inside of the body black would fix that.)) www.teamassociated.com/cars_and_trucks/CR12/Toyota_FJ45_Pickup/
I was gonna get the sport and just add lights and wheels for a trailer truck. But when I heard about the plastic transmission gears that was the final nail. Went with the Gen8 V2.
I have 2 gen 7 pros and I will tell you that the 3000mah battery is stronger if your pulling and it gives more torque. The gen 7 pro is way faster with the 3s lipo but the 2s lipo is just about quarter step faster than the 3000 mAh . I broke one the first day I got them by hard take offs pulling big wheelies with my pit bull . So I'm going to strip it down and keep all gears and electronics for backup of my other one . I'm going to make a trailer out of the frame and wheels to carry my two Senton Blx 3s and my 6s . I'm going to have my gen 7 pulling both . Merry Christmas and thanks for all the wonderful videos ! Look forward to becoming a paid backer next year , you all are family and Thank You for allowing us to be apart of your family ! Peace , Love and Light To You and Yours P.S. Upgrade , Upgrade , you can't go wrong with the upgrade to the pro ! I wish I could show you mine .
It's a beast a 1/8 scale would need a real garage (lol), kidding but it's heavy. When you upgrading it you'll be lowering it's center of mass so it will become better at incline crawling.
Good video. I bought the pro. I like it. The important upgrades to me were the skid plates and the aluminum shocks the tire foam is different than sport I've seen in specs, and the flares and mirrors and getting a green one. I removed the rollcage and roofrack (roofrack sits on there for display after I made relief holes for body clips so it'll sit flat on roof. Display only.) and used the supplied parts to body post the body. with body still hinged, setup front posts with a paint dab to mark accurately hole location. Then when the fronts accurately done I removed the cage and posted the back accurately with the front holes done. I removed 400 grams with the rollcage and roofrack. All was weight above the door handles and would affect crawling slopes a lot. So today I take it out to rock and roll with a friend and his Gen 8 build. Thanks!
Thanks for the great video. I hope you returned the sport with the bent bumper in exchange for a pro. That was a great comparison and it answered a lot of questions because I just bought a GEN seven pro and I wasn’t for sure if it was worth extra $. Now I’m glad I opted for the pro 🤠
So just a heads up. Redcat is shipping the Gen 8 this December & January and it sells for $299. That has portal axles and just makes it hard to justify buying the Gen 7 Pro (which is great) for $279. Spend the extra 20 bucks. To anyone out there who has the Sport, if you look for redcat on thingaverse, they have free plans out there to 3d print the Fenders & running boards for the Sport like the Pro already has. Pretty good value for $200
Those ‘mud guards’ are inner fender wells. On older body on frame vehicles, the inner fender wells protected the engine compartment from the weather and rocks and, stiffened the fender/grill assembly. Another friendly FYI; the oil filled part of the shock is called a tube or body.
Hey Nate, I think the $80.00 difference is well worth the upgrade.Even better that yours came damaged.Hope you are within return time frame. Dave from OKC⚓️
Just checked last night, looks like we are within the return dates so that's exactly what I'm going to do and shoot for the PRO version :-) Thanks for tuning in Dave!
I just picked up the Gen7 Sport in the color orange.... I agree. It looks more maroon than orange. I watched a lot of your videos and now I have a rock crawler, I am looking to grab one more. Thank you for all the great videos. I love them all. Aloha
Great video! I've seen countless reviews and really liked your side by side comparison. I just picked up two Gen 7's with Gen 8 portal axles. I really like the style of the 7 but really wanted the portals....got really lucky.
I thought you did a fine job of explaining and showing the differences and for the guys who are more in the know you made the differences visible enough for them to form their own opinion. For my money the pro is well worth the small difference. It appears that the suspension is easily adjustable on the pro.
No you did a fantastic job reviewing both models and I was searching for specifically a red cat racing Generation 7 unboxing and didn't know there was two different models, and I had ordered the sport which I canceled on time from Amazon and reordered the pro. Thank you very much a great video very help full.
I just order my first rock crawler..getting it next week and can't wait. I'm getting the orange ish Pro. Your show is making me feel good on my choice. Thank you
I think you did the right purchase. That 80 dollars you saved can go to upgrades that other owners have posted it needs. The higher priced "PRO" has a hinge system and some additional skidplates. That would be stuff I would want. But the roof mounted stuff seems to make it top heavy. Have seen a lot of the PRO rolling over in trail videos. Maybe keep the base model and do the upgrades for getting it to preform better and then go for the style points. I have been interested in the base model Gen7 as a starting point for awhile. Both of them look great.
Hi. Feedback, certain details can cover quicker minus opinions and alternatives. Jump right straight what’s the stock had and move on to next detail. Thanks.
Yaaaaaaaayyy REDCAT RACING! Huge fan! On that bumper issue Nate.. contact RCR on their web page in the warranty claim section or give the guys there a ring. They will send another one out! Merry Christmas!
That tailpipe is actually a snorkel for the intake of the vehicle. In real like you dont want water getting into the air intake of the vehicle. I'm excited to see how this truck does on trails though! Never been a redcat guy but this looks nice
Thanks Nate! This is my next Rc . I'm glad I looked you up to see if you did a review on these trucks. I was wondering what the difference was. Now I know it's worth the extra $50 . Thanks again for another awesome video!!👍👍🙏🙏⛵⛵😀
Hey guys. The newest Gen series is the Gen8 from RedCat it’s the Scout. Check it out. I have the Gen7 Pro. I’ve upgraded servo, roof rack light bar transmission gears and shafts bumpers, spur gear and pinion gears. Have fun with it I have.
I know this comment is late to the party but the main difference between the sport and pro is the front axle shafts, the pro comes with cvd and the sport comes with dog bones
thanks question How long does it take to charge the battery? How long is the battery? The sport comes with a 2000Mh, is it enough? or buy another 2000 or 3000? Thanks for your reply.
pro has cvd front axles, steel ring and pinion gears also. Ive had mine for 6 months. A set of front cvd and driveshafts will be needed if your hard on it. Well worth the extra cash for it. I did a lot of looking before I got mine for first crawler, trail truck. Did go to 2.2 mudslingers, 35 turn motor after stock went out. 5200 lipo will run for a hour atleast. stock radio works fine. Stock servo is fine, I did replace with more torque but Esc voltage does not give it any more power then stock so waste of money unless you Do a BEC. There are some videos on my youtube page if ya want to check them out. You will have a blast with the trucks
One thing you're going to notice with your Redcat gen 7 it's the turning radius is not very good. But you can do what I did get a four-wheel turn kit really improves the turning radius. I have the Everest 10 that I installed the rear wheel turn kit on and I love it
During the video, you said you think the receiver and ESC are separate components. Can you confirm whether that's the case. I wish to replace the receiver with a six channel receiver to add a camera with a turret. Would like to confirm that possible without replacing the ESC as well.
$80 more the Pro is the way to go. I have a TRC MT10E and its an Awesome truck....not a crawler. But a great Recat product. Redcat is getting better every day.
I am looking at one of these for my son. I like the Crawler but would like to have more top speed than 5-7. Anything that goes 15-20 mph that is stable?
Great video! I have been a fan of you guys ever since I found this channel. Thanks for the in depth reviews and keeping it real. I think the green pro is the way to go. Great job and I hope y'all have a Merry Christmas!
What is the ground clearance on them ? I can't find the info anywhere on redcat's webpage. I hope its more then 1.4-1.5". thank you for the review answered a lot of questions I had. good job !
I would definately return! You could never know what else could be wrong. Something had to have hit it pretty good to be that bent. Love the video guys!
7:33 with the money spent on the velcro and the regular mounting system they could just include a pair of strong magnets and solve the issue once for all....
Thx for this one. I like RedCat. I like many other also, but have had many RC things and never a prob. I hear they have a gen 8 coming out if its not already. I love their street cars and even the sandstorm and other trucks, and the little 24th scale is awesomesauce , if I had the money for a new RedCat I'd probably get a streetcar with second choice being the 24thcrawler
Yes I would definitely go for the the $280 version of this, I mean not only for the refined look but the extra quality of the shocks and the mudguard and the roll cage and the velcro is cool with me - definitely and then go with a lipo battery for pennies more and they don't know if you mention the size of the motor or not I'm guessing it's like a 540 in that pup, so nice job!
I think that's waht I'm going to do. I mean, my Sport was damaged anyways so it's not like it'd be a total waste. Plus I had planned on upgrading this Sport a little and by the time I do any upgrades I should have just gone with the Pro! Good thinking George :-) Yes, 550 Brushed motors in each.
Hey Nathan. I'm sure other people have told you by now but that's not a muffler. That is a snorkel so it can get fresh air to the carburetor underwater. It's okay to get water in the tailpipe as long as the engine does not die underwater. I love Redcat RC I have a few of them. Hoping to get the Redcat earthquake Nitro for Christmas this year. Continue your good work with your videos say hi to Abby and Amalia for me
Seen where someone had mud get in diff and said it was defect. Also someone said wet sand can be a problem . With that said I will be getting one , by far I would go with pro version .upgrade are well worth $60 extra bucks.great vid as usual by u two. Thanks
Definitely return the sport one because of the rear bumper thing and buy pro forest green one. I think it is worthy to spend extra 80 bucks for some improvements under it, because these extra shields can affect that the truck might last longer than the sport one which doesn't have these guards. And by the way... Wishing you all beautiful and peaceful holidays :)
well I've bought the gen8 n Wendigo.. n had I given this a serious look.. i prolly wouldn't have bought either of them n had 2 of these pros I love that caged flip up body n that full skirting is really gonna save that body....
Thanks for the video. Was debating on getting my dad the pro or the sport. I have the sport but upgraded it a lot and such. I have the same RadioLink controllers. I bought two for another project but it didnt work out. Did you ever do that upgrade?? If so could you please show me how if you have a video?? Would love to use these controllers.
I actually like the bodies on these, it kind of reminds me of like a brand new suburban concept suv with like the Duramax 2500 hood and I think that's their inspiration, these look like a lot of bang for the buck, decent looking trucks
Merry Christmas Salors!! Great review. I am a novice so appreciate your "regular guy" style reviews. No excuses any more sir. These are nice. Would get the PRO and at $280, it seems that is the starting price for a good truck. Just got Vkar Bison truggy. Want a crawler next, so is perfect timing! Might even put FPV in it so get a different experience. Thanks so much for your time.
Definitely the pro. Silver one looks like a jeep. doesn't look off road tough💪. For the price I'd think they would have light's already. Headlights at least. The snorkle may keep the engine alive, but everyone inside drowns.😮😮. VERY good comparison. 👍👍.
i've always wanted to get a "high end" remote control car...how does this brand compare to a Traxxas? I have no idea the differences, i've only heard of Traxxas. But, I have came across a brand new Gen7 Pro for $180 locally, and tempted to get it.
First of all, we've been told we arent even allowed to SAY that name you mentioned above, so you can guess where we might stand on our opinion of that company. Most people have heard of them, but you'll notice most people that care where their money goes don't own or promote that brand. You should watch our driving video of the Everest just recently recorded and uploaded and I think you'll have your answer ;-)
I like the Redcat & both trucks are nice I like the pro because all the goodies lol . I recently ordered a jeep crawler by chase wind threw banggood & the metal upgrades, frame , gearbox & axle's still waiting for it to arrive. Reviews say it has steering problems ( weak servo ) like the UA Tamiya Bruiser Toyota deal LOL. I upgraded the servo & moved it to the front with some home depot hardware 💯after that ( Solid Truck ) like both of the Redcat Rc's you can always add upgrades 👍Thanks for your review's & dope channel 🙌Salute 😎
Gen 7 pro is awsome! Well worth the money.. I was excited to see them on your channel... excellent crawlers... I will have to send you some drive shaft and pinion seal kits for those two gems... 👍
If you upgrade them so much, then it would have been more efficient to buy the Traxxis TRX4 with the portal axles. That is $399 but with a 2 spd transmission and the portal, its much better crawler. You need the batt and charger but you want to upgrade anyway. I liked that at the end you admitted that the Pro is worth the extra $50. That is what I was looking for as I could not decide. Info - next time buy on Amazon and you can send it back and exchange to the Pro on a cheap.
Hey saylors,I would say if you plan on doing upgrades then I would get the sport version,if you want the plug and play than the pro,or better yet just buy the gen8
If we’re voting I personally would send it back and get the upgrade that upgrade look so cool in the functionality of the upgrade definitely worth $80! Ps. I thought you said the price difference was $200 at the beginning to❗️❗️ Thanks 🙏
Thank you guys this is just a review I was looking for!😁 I did get the hosim truck. 😁😁😁 Thank you I am a very happy camper this truck tears it all up with a quickness and it hardly ever flips over. Well my next project is a crawler. 🐼😁🕉️☮️☯️🌲🎄 Merry Christmas to all four of you kids. 🎄
Which one Should i buy? because the pro is more expensive, but it has ALOT of capabilities, the sport is cheaper, but i think it has the same performance..
I drove both before purchasing one , I like the sport betting , the pro seemed a little bit top heavy , I've had the sport for a little bit more than a year , still running grate , I also bought all the drive train up - grades , they're still in my tool box , I comp against trx4's , scx10 's , etc , ,, nothing has broken on my sport yet , , I feel like I wasted my money on the metal gears &- lockers ? It makes all my buddys a tad bit pissie when my $199:00 stock truck goes everywhere their high end trucks can go . Ever since I got my Gen 7 sport my 2010 scx10 hasn't moved off the shelf , I love my Gen 7 👍😎

Hey Nate, FYI...the item you called a "tail pipe" is actually a "snorkel". It's so the engine can breath when the vehicle is in water.
Ah okay, that makes complete sense. Just didn't realize it had it's own name. Very cool! Thanks for the tip Cameron!
@@TheRcSaylors If you would like more information, do a TH-cam search for "off road snorkel".
Oh, and I like the Pro version. Thanks for a detailed review of both of the trucks.
They raise the exhaust on real vehicles to but it's out the back. Just for your info. Great video again.
A snorkel cones from the air box.

They just came out with a new one, using the same chassis, with a much cooler body, a Toyota FJ45 pickup. On web only presale right now on their website RTR for $199. (I like the looks of the blue body better than the grey one. But... in the few videos I've seen the sun shined through the blue body real bad (though an hour or two of masking, and paint the inside of the body black would fix that.))
www.teamassociated.com/cars_and_trucks/CR12/Toyota_FJ45_Pickup/
I like look of the green Redcat Everest Pro better than the black. Plus it'd make it easier to tell yours from your buddies :>
I was gonna get the sport and just add lights and wheels for a trailer truck. But when I heard about the plastic transmission gears that was the final nail. Went with the Gen8 V2.
At the time of recording this, the v2 did not exist. Good choice! 😁👍😎⚓
Peace , Love and Light To You and Yours
P.S.
Upgrade , Upgrade , you can't go wrong with the upgrade to the pro ! I wish I could show you mine .
Thank you big help. Is the pro much heavier?
Have had my eye on these for a while. Can't wait to see you test them on the trail. Thanks for the comparison of models.
Agreed. The pro is a worthwhile upgrade
I would definitely go with the pro i just love the colour scheme black and red and with little detail addons definitely worth the few Bob more
I just picked up the Gen7 Sport in the color orange.... I agree. It looks more maroon than orange. I watched a lot of your videos and now I have a rock crawler, I am looking to grab one more. Thank you for all the great videos. I love them all. Aloha
The pro is now $250 on Amazon! A steal!
I just put 100 down on a gen7pro waiting for it to get from redcat to my local hobby shop and im glad seeing this video that i did
Great video!
New to The Hobbby.. and was looking for a good review of both .. thank you so much for the Video.. God Bless!
Glad this came in handy Jim! Have a good day 👍😀⚓😎
No you did a fantastic job reviewing both models and I was searching for specifically a red cat racing Generation 7 unboxing and didn't know there was two different models, and I had ordered the sport which I canceled on time from Amazon and reordered the pro. Thank you very much a great video very help full.
ill take 4! lol i like the new international scouts too, especially how they pay attention to detail
Hey does the radio come with the pro and the chargers and battery ?
The one through our link does, yes.
Thanks.
We just do this for fun 😃👍⚓😎
Yaaaaaaaayyy REDCAT RACING! Huge fan! On that bumper issue Nate.. contact RCR on their web page in the warranty claim section or give the guys there a ring. They will send another one out!
Merry Christmas!
That tailpipe is actually a snorkel for the intake of the vehicle. In real like you dont want water getting into the air intake of the vehicle. I'm excited to see how this truck does on trails though! Never been a redcat guy but this looks nice
Yeah, I think I had a partial brain fart when explaining it, lol. That makes way more sense than what I said.
Thanks Nate! This is my next Rc . I'm glad I looked you up to see if you did a review on these trucks. I was wondering what the difference was. Now I know it's worth the extra $50 . Thanks again for another awesome video!!👍👍🙏🙏⛵⛵😀
I hope you guys have a great Christmas season
Thank you so much Zin, you too!!
they both look great. the sport is great for a base, the pro is nice but its all show no go except for the shocks
Forest gran Pro. The inner wheel fenders help to keep most of the mud out of the insides. Skid guards on the differentials are nice too.
Thanks for the additional input! We are Always learning new things in the hobby. Hard to know it all 😉👍😁😎⚓
They also have 3d print files for the inner fenders and other parts. The Gen 8 version may be a step up when it comes out (about to be released).
thanks question
How long does it take to charge the battery?
Nice comparison, pro definitely seems worth the extra cost. Sport looks unfinished. Good job.
Great review as always. Favorite rc review channel for many reasons. Keep them coming.
When i push down on the front of my sport it hits the drag link or steering arm. Does your's have the same problem?
One thing you're going to notice with your Redcat gen 7 it's the turning radius is not very good. But you can do what I did get a four-wheel turn kit really improves the turning radius. I have the Everest 10 that I installed the rear wheel turn kit on and I love it
Thanks for providing an honest look at these.
I am getting a pro for my birthday, this video eased my peace of mind about whether the extra money is worth it. Thank you!
I hope its more then 1.4-1.5". thank you for the review answered a lot of questions I had. good job !
Hey guys! Thank you for doing a review on these two trucks, looking into buying one now!
You are very welcome Ryan, they are both really awesome. I ended up going with this one - amzn.to/2BCbTVN
You did great Nate! Awesome side by side comparison! Awesome 👏🏼
✌🏼😎👍🏼
Thank you very much :-)
I would definately return! You could never know what else could be wrong. Something had to have hit it pretty good to be that bent. Love the video guys!
7:33 with the money spent on the velcro and the regular mounting system they could just include a pair of strong magnets and solve the issue once for all....
I agree with that 👍😁😎⚓️
Thx for this one.
I have heard people complain about the velcro body mount on the pro as far as if you roll the truck it comes undone during the roll.
I noticed that the PRO had adjustable shocks but I couldn't tell if the Sport had that. Get the PRO Green. Can't wait to see it run on LIPO.
Its a 550 motor
Thanks
the snorkel is the air intake, not the exhaust. keeps it from sucking water into the engine.
Awesome review! Good eye Abby! Thank you both. Merry Christmas Nate, Abby, Amelia & Popeye!
The "tail pipe" is actually a snorkel. It's the air intake not exhaust.
It’s actually a non functional peice of plastic has nothing to do with how the motor breaths 😝✌️
Hey everyone! Awesome comparison! I think I would opt for the Pro version, myself. Take great care! JP
well I've bought the gen8 n Wendigo.. n had I given this a serious look.. i prolly wouldn't have bought either of them n had 2 of these pros I love that caged flip up body n that full skirting is really gonna save that body....
Very very cool. They have the scout 2 also that's basically the same but cool body. That gen 7 is amazing. I got it myself
Should I get gen 7 pro or gen 8?
Thanks for the video. Was debating on getting my dad the pro or the sport. I have the sport but upgraded it a lot and such. I have the same RadioLink controllers. I bought two for another project but it didnt work out. Did you ever do that upgrade?? If so could you please show me how if you have a video?? Would love to use these controllers.
The pro has steel gearing or lockers in a differentials which makes a big difference and also has cvd front axles
Are they water proof or water resistant
Does the Pro come with the extra decals like the wood grain?
Hey guys, is the tow hitch ball on the rear bumper of the pro actually functional?
Does it come with the thing to unscrew the tires off?
Looks like the pro is the way to go. Thanks for all the information.
How long do they take to charge white the charger included?
Great review Saylors. Have a Merry Christmas
Hey saylors,I would say if you plan on doing upgrades then I would get the sport version,if you want the plug and play than the pro,or better yet just buy the gen8
Pro version with Lipo for sure! ...and a winch.
If we’re voting I personally would send it back and get the upgrade that upgrade look so cool in the functionality of the upgrade definitely worth $80! Ps. I thought you said the price difference was $200 at the beginning to❗️❗️
Thanks 🙏
I wanted the gen 7 pro, but now i am waiting on the redcat gen 8, more of a steering angle better angle of attack and a ton of upgrades
I have been hoping that you would do a review on these! I have been looking into them as an affordable beast of a crawler. Thanks for showing these!
No problem Devin! Glad this video came in handy my friend. We'll be driving them on the channel soon, so be on the lookout for that video :-)
Cool Review! Merry Christmas Saylors!
Thank you I have been waiting for y’all to review this truck
So excited to run this truck :-)
Which one Should i buy? because the pro is more expensive, but it has ALOT of capabilities, the sport is cheaper, but i think it has the same performance..
Great video as always, looking forward to seeing them run. Merry Christmas.
Thank you very much for tuning in GrandPaul!
