This one was very informative about some of the details about certain techniques that you use i.e. the white at the horizon and how to use it to create perspective, the brush work to create the greenery and how to apply paint to the sky to avoid mud. I've read other commenters that say we aren't "supposed" to copy the video exactly but in my experience doing so allows me to understand your techniques better. This one was a lot of fun...Thanks Stuart.
Splendid, Stuart. I love how, with a few strokes with the paper, you can suddenly make a bunch of trees move 50 feet back, or forward, in the middle ground of the picture.
You got a sponsor Professor 🙌😃!! Well deserved! I can’t tell you how immensely useful it is to see you showing how you use and you work from your palette!! Even watching how your load your bush is important. Thank you so much for adding this to your videos!!
Thank you for another beautiful and instructive video! And for Craftsy--I had not known about it before and will enjoy looking to see what they have to offer. Seeing you mix the paint at the beginning was a great help and was just enough to know what you are doing. The sound was perfect for me. I look forward to seeing each video it comes up in the notices!
Hey Stuart, amazing work as always, hats off to your talent, skill and ability to teach so clearly, and also for an absolutely devilish sense of humor!😅❤❤❤
What a unique and creative approach! It is amazing how many ways it can go at any given moment. You have a fabulous brush skill. Thank you for these insights.
What a struck of good luck to wake up unexpectedly at 4am (Pacific time)and happen to find your live demonstration video just starting. Love Tonalist Landscapes and trying to learn. Merci. Merci bien!!
Природа..божественно прекрасна..И как сложно эту красоту передать..Вам удается!✌️Только вот вода..разве не должно в ней быть отражения неба и персикового и голубизны?
@ Thanks for responding. Yes. The other TH-camr said that it is close to navy blue. I cannot find Royal Blue in local stores so it's frustrating when I want to emulate one of your paintings for practice.
Love your work.. Your studio is looking good. I'm looking for lights for mine. If you don't mind me asking, what brand name and where did you purchase them ?
There are now microphones you can clip on your collar that will pick up every word of more soft spoken instructors like yourself. they just need a Bluetooth connections to your video camera during recording and that's mostly all you need to do and you'll have much better clarity during your productions. Hope this helps, as you are still very quiet in this video, but that just seems to be your nature in speaking, not something being overlooked in your methods. I think it may be a great option for you as it is important as artists that we are still entirely comfortable while we produce so we can focus on our art. You are a gem and people wanting to hear you better are simply their way of telling you they value every single word you can spare for them.
@@StuartDavies I am so sorry to hear that. I know everyone loves your work and was just trying to be helpful but it seems I am a bit late for that. Great videos, by the way.
What brand of oils would you recommend for a beginner? I’m trying to get my confidence level up so I don’t get discouraged. I am on a limited budget, so I cannot afford the high end brands. I have watched a number of your videos and I have been inspired to begin painting (again). I respect your opinions.

Lovely demonstration Stuart a constable. You could just put a wagon in the water .Great stuff Great channel
Thank you for a lovely tutorial. On my tablet the pond in this painting looks far brighter than the sky. Is it me? 👍👍
It will eventually have a bit of sky colour in it when I glaze the painting.
Great video. One of my favourites. You said the oil is more viscous ie. more watery.
More viscous means thicker 👍
I am extremely capable of getting a word wrong, lol!
Color reflection needed on the water, or it could be a sand trap on the golf links.
Yes, it will eventually have a bit of sky colour in it when I glaze the painting.
Loved this, thank you. Would love to do a paint and chat but sadly I am on the west coast of Canada and 9am is midnight for me!
I'm mostly here for the debunnification. 🐰

Да, я добавлю цвет в следующем видео.
@@StuartDavies Отлично! Хороших выходных!
I question the Royal Blue because another artist said that Royal Blue is darker whereas that looks like light blue or sky blue.
It is Royal blue. people often think navy blue is royal blue.
@ Thanks for responding. Yes. The other TH-camr said that it is close to navy blue. I cannot find Royal Blue in local stores so it's frustrating when I want to emulate one of your paintings for practice.

Yes, I use a Røde microphone which is one of the best available. Sometimes I lose my voice and can't up my volume.

How long does a painting take to dry when using refined linseed oil ?
It depends on the amount of oil and whether it contains a drying agent. Linseed tends to the fastest.

third to create a Craftsy account. and couldn't access the offer, of $1.49.
Hmmm. I will ask them and get back to you.
More watery is LESS viscous
Yes, i get words wrong sometimes!
