As someone who expects laptops, I am quite happy, now a high end laptop can run on only 270-300w. Many probably don't realize or even mention it within their “gamer is everything” philosophy, but this is “eliminating the need for gaming modes for high performance”, not only in games, but also for running code without the need for a remote server. Being able to work more than 5-6 hours on a high-end notebook PC is something many people want. Sure, I can worry about 15-17 fps more on a monitor that out of the box doesn't support more than 120-144 hz at 4k(lol). But I think paying the bills and not requiring an ultra-powerful base with ventilation so I don't lose the progeny is just as important.
