A great guest on The Golf Ireland Pod this week as Stephen chats to Lahinch Chairperson John Gleeson on the week his club host the prestigious South of Ireland Amateur Open Championship.
During the interview John speaks eloquently about his beloved Lahinch, and how he and his colleagues are only the current custodians who hope it will be as strong a hundred years from now.
On the South of Ireland, John reckons any one of twenty could triumph and gives an insight into the unique challenge posed by a links course. He also looks ahead to the Walker Cup coming to the Clare course in 2026, the third time it will be contested in Ireland.
