this is what id think,when Liu Bei first began he was so focused on being kind,he let men like Lu Bu get away with anything, when he first came to Zhuge Liang Liu Bei was honorable, but always on the run and unsure of himself. Over the years of spending time w/ wise men like Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong and conquering new lands, he's probably realized, like any parent/leader those who follow you must have set rules or they never quite feel safe and secure! Same virtuous ruler only wiser.
Ma chao was responcible more for unity in han zhong a piece of land bordered by wei, Ma chao almost single handedly ensured this gateway into Yi was kept loyal to shu and dident invite Cao Cao to take over. He played a strange peace keeper roll amongst minority groups and familys rather than the Magnificent warrior hes more famous for.
The silk bag was hilarious, but you wonder, Guan Yu's fought so many battles, unless he tucks his beard in or has beard armour (beard armour idea has great appeal to me), he'd probably have had his beard chopped off in a duel xP
Zhuge Liang is a genius! This show left out the part from the book where Cao Cao gave Guan Yu a silken bag to put his beard in, that part always made me die laughing! Truly an amazing beard!
I spent a year -- when learning the Kwan Do form of my style -- growing a beard so I could perform the proper bow (it involves flicking the beard to the side; and over the shoulder if you can manage it); it barely reached the bottom of my throat. It had to take him a decade or more to get it that long. Of course, Asian hair is like silk: straight and fine, so he didn't have to straighten it like I did . . . definitely the coolest beard ever, it deserves praise . . .

This actually shows the increased intricacies of a company as it grows bigger. That ranks and posts are given according to the boss' discretion (especially in managing the politics of the new organization), and of course grumblings by dissatisfied veterans should be expected. Btw, Guan Yu's lack of political acumen would in time, lead to fall out between Wu and Shu... and then to Guan's own defeat...

I want to ask what they are talking what liu bei decied in his laws ? and i want to ask when zhuge liang saw liu bei while he were closking the door so he be alone he told that is so clear to him that liu bei..... have changed but hav changed why and to what ? Is it bad or good? plz may u help me understanding it and tell me so u can make all ppl understand this part i mean its really Fuzzy and thanks...
It's implied that the Riverlands are rather lax due to the guy in charge not being dutiful in his administration of the Riverlands. Liu Bei comes in and just being normal seems to be strict compared to the laxness of the previous lord. Laxness invites corruption and a slow breakdown of society.
