No privilege for race, religion, gender etc. An egalitarian country. We want an open rational discussion in adult and respectful forums. It appears that the natives and plastc faux maori do not want an orderly intellectual and informative process. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It appears that the natives want lots of show, bullying, shouting, threatening, and song and dancing in our secondary language. Lots of sabre rattling and demands. Hopefully this will settle down into an adult conversation But i am not sure the victim natives want a civilised debate.
Te Pati Maori do not speak for all Maori much of what Debbie Ngarewa-Packer has to say is divisive to say the least. Perhaps Rawiri should rein her in. The coalition government was democratically elected under MMP, move on and lets rebuild the mess left by the former government for all New Zealanders.
It is time that some Maori people faced reality. They are the minority. They have been treated for to long as a privileged people. Learn to take pride in having a job and supporting a family. The last government gave all to them. The Maori were never the native people of this country. There were other people here first. They think they are the only ones with rights. Let’s get some honest history. New Zealand is New Zealand. Many men lost their lives to defend uNew Zealand in two world wars. The treaty of Waitangi, has been abused and mis used now for two long.
Nobody's "attacking Maori." NZ spoke and simply want equality for all. TPM got 3.08% of votes! If Packer would listen to her Packer blood, she'd hear the call for equality for all. Not based on some % of ancestors who happened to be here before those of someone else.
I think the media, and Te Pati Maori actually believes that the government is accountable to the media and Te Pati Maori. I'm pretty sure that's not how it is supposed to work in a democracy.
The question of 'we.' When a white person agrees that 'we are all equal' in recognition of equal standing with other human beings, the white person is referring to the plural 'I' as in 'we' means you and I. This is not the same as as the 'we' for indigenous people who see 'we' (conveniently) in its plural contect i.e. 'we' means us. So for indigenous people 'we are all equal' means our tribe of 500 is equal to your tribe of 5 million, which translates into... we are more important than you. If you smell a rat in the indigenous interpretation of 'we' then you up to speed with the game they are playing. The 'we' means us is a con trick.
The Government might just be starting to realise this is a dumb move to have a go at Tangata Whenua. So who they gunna blame for this potential mess? The Palestinians or the Yeminis perhaps....
Tangata Whenua...meaning: "people of the land" if I'm not mistaken? I certainly consider I fit that definition. After all, what else would I be, I'm not a sky or sea dweller! Apparently promoting equality & equal rights for all is now "having a go" at someone....we are living in Orwell's Animal farm.
The sky is falling or so you think. Nzers of all different backgrounds are sick of the BS. Lets illegally stop a fishing contest up North. Shall we go back yo the wild west days before the treaty?
Everyone in this country need to know Maori didn't cede Sovereignty to the Crown or Government. They just came in and took over and now saying basically the Treaty gave them that right is a load of rubbish. First of all the translation from Maori to Pakeha was wrong/inaccurate done by Pakeha to benefit themselves not mentioning the stealing of maori Land by them. So you can't blame Maori for saying the Governments are racist. Maori have rights in this country which is not disadvantaging other people so where does the Government get this notion everyone should be treated equal. Just because Maori have rights doesn't mean they are treated better than other people in this country infact they're not and should be after all this is their country.
Please check your facts. The treaty was written in english translated to te reo. And there is more than one copy. signed. My understanding that the translation from the maori versions back into english were done by highly respected maori leaders. Time to have a discussion on the modern relevance of the treaty. By the way most us can read for ourselves on the govt. website.
Let the Maori govern New Zealand then we'll see the biggest cluster f**k the world has ever seen. Let them govern with the Treaty of Waitangi as their mission statement. Will New Zealand be any further ahead... we all know the answer. A few disgruntled and unhappy indigenous persons keep on trying to to rewrite history. The rest of us go...here we go again.
Past racism against Maori was based on a sincere belief by many white people that the Maori people were primitive and less civilised than white Christians, as evidenced by the fact that Maori were still killing Maori. Maori now like to ignore this key characteristic that helped form this profile. It is now accepted by the majority of white people that in this modern world there is no room for racism. But as white people have grown up and moved on, we find that Maori are caught up in a sort of catch-up dilemma that seems to demand that they too get a go at being racist. Still a touch primitive maybe?
Meanwhile English men were being pressganged to fight wars against their Kings enemies and how about Afro Americans being shipped across the seas to become slaves? Were the English ruling classes any more civilized than indigenous peoples who often get a rap as primitive or uncivilized? Look how the British, Spanish, French and Dutch have exploited indigenous peoples across the globe claiming they were savages whilst they killed and stole their way across Earth. Who are the real savages? You would think people would move on but take a look at our modern world too and how Israel is bombing in Southern Gaza after telling Palestinians to move to safety there right now. Is this the civilized thing to do after all the Jews went through in World War 2? Who is doing the ignoring ? I don't see Maori being so uncivilized. I see Maori reclaiming the rights they lost after signing Te tiriti o Waitangi . This is not Maori demanding they get a go at being racist. This is Maori reclaiming their culture, their reo , their tikanga and as a Pakeha who has the privilege of sharing indigenous ancestry through my Kanak Great Grandmother I would be proud to walk behind Tame Iti and hold a white flag at Waitangi.

To those who think Ngapuhi cede sovereignty to the British Crown and military better get a reality check. When you kill butcher and eat your enemy, dont ever think thats an act of ceding sovereignty, to bow down or surrender, to be fearful or be afraid. Dont ever think those warrior chiefs sold there souls to a foreign king and queen. NEVER!!!!! ake ake Amen. They died honourable to defend there land culture and family.
Maori themselves never had an abstract concept of sovereignty. They only understood Mana and Power. Which is why in the treaty they used 'Kawanatanga' meaning government and 'Rangatiratanga' means chieftainship as local tribal rights. Pakeha misinterpreted it as ownership, surrender, bow down, give in, servants, slavery, chickened out, you lost, we now own you and all your resources. We keep everything and you get nothing. Thanks for signing on the dotted line. Its called thieves, theft, swindled, repo, extortion, day light robbery.
Debbie really has no self awareness does she?
How long can they get away with HATE SPEECH where kate Hannah now i wonder
Cigmore campaigned against hate speech laws, this is his vision for NZ.
@@Kult365 but did the Maori party support it I'm big free speech.
@@robertjamesking5314 No idea, you can probably find that out, however I'd like to share this:
Free Speech:
Everyone has the right to express their thoughts and ideas. It allows open discussions and sharing different opinions. Encourages a diverse and free exchange of information. Protects people from being punished for expressing non-harmful views. Should be used responsibly and respectfully.
Hate Speech:
Involves saying or promoting harmful, prejudiced, or discriminatory ideas.Targets individuals or groups based on characteristics like race, religion, or gender. Can incite violence or create a hostile environment. Goes beyond expressing opinions and can cause emotional harm. Generally not protected under free speech when it leads to harm or danger.
@@robertjamesking5314 free speech means not doing harm. Does anything in this discourse look harmless to you?
@@Kult365 yep it harmless to me I'm maori but I really don't care what the government up to I fellow JAH Rastafari so god first so nothing matters after that my brother
National should not attend any of these gatherings as it only gives air time to Maori activists & their ilk & especially not Waitangi.
Could someone please tell me what the principles of the Treaty are? Thank you.
There are none, the treaty is 3 very simple paragraphs. Read it yourself
@@Kiwi_ecker I have. For Years. But please get some medical help. Your antagonism is showing.
The bone around her neck continues to grow
The bro looks like they had a drunk night and woke up with a vivid drawing 😳
Not going to listen to the cow who called Shane a misogenist and a bully for having a constructive respective debate.
If the voters wanted the maori party, they would have voted for them. Voters said 'no thanks' you are full of sh!t. we want a level playing field for everyone !!
Time for the maori party to realise that NZers' don't want their elitist divisive rubbish..
Luxon needs to stop wasting time with these people who never voted for him and get on repairing the mess ardern made. he will be judged by results. 1news forgot to turn off comments agin, so better get in quick.
Ironic how the co leader of a race based party refers to the government as racist
Good on Luxon and National for showing up to Ratana to korero kanohi ki te kanohi, face to face. Same for Winston and NZ first.. as for David Seymour, not a good look mate.
Why should he turn up? No one would listen and everyone would just scream hateful nonsense.
There is no obligation to attend. Why would he put himself in a hostile potentially dangerous situation? I watch with interest if Titanga is observed for the PM and WP
Well I will agree with that hope they show the full thing on TV otherwise it will look like parts are being hid from the public.
Better they all don’t attend Any Māori gatherings as gain little & given nothing.
Waste of taxpayer dollars & their time.
God her Colonialism has seriously affected her need for lovely manicured acrylics on her phalanges!
Have you noticed also a lot of indigenous food privilege people have losted alot of weight do to the colonisation of the health system 🤔
This person is a complete joke
Is anyone taking this ranting lady for real? Is the public broadcaster run as an advocacy show for one self-appointed tribal elite?
Not under attack. The coalition as directed democratically by the majority of New Zealanders wants a clear understanding of the treaty and the mutual obligations and agreements which government considers in governing all New Zealanders with equality of opportunity, fairness, embracibg meritocracy, rewarding hardwork and punishing criminals.
Hopefully this will settle down into an adult conversation
But i am not sure the victim natives want a civilised debate.
You would never understand 😂all that just to say you don't know farkn hell eah just say you don't know
@@Steven38790 Nice to see an articulate well structured and coherent response. I applaud your erudition.
Indigenous haha
Get over it Debbie ... the gravy train is over ... get used to it ...
Seymour's stance is interesting considering his mother is Maori.
Why? He wants everyone treated the same, why would his Maori mother change that?
Luxon is already proving to be a brilliant Prime Minister. Onwards and upwards for all of New Zealand 🇳🇿
😂
😅🤮
GO DEBBIE 👊
Did debbie packer (queen of hyperbole) have a freudian slip calling david seymour prime minister? He could be our first Maori Prime Minister.
David scared-more
The Minority doesn't Rule 😊
Hahahahahahaha you loose you lost.
Ha Māori we’re here first :p
Nobody's "attacking Maori." NZ spoke and simply want equality for all. TPM got 3.08% of votes! If Packer would listen to her Packer blood, she'd hear the call for equality for all. Not based on some % of ancestors who happened to be here before those of someone else.
I think the media, and Te Pati Maori actually believes that the government is accountable to the media and Te Pati Maori. I'm pretty sure that's not how it is supposed to work in a democracy.
Been asking these questions for many of years, and still asking the same question that fall into death ears this pm the last 6 to 7 pm's before....
How about tough questions regarding his friendship with Bill Gates and WEF.
Te party maori racist party are a joke
The maori party only represent 2% of New Zealands population, why does she receive SOO MUCH AIRTIME ?
Te Pati Maori only got 6 seats. They are a minority.
Sounds like self entitlement get over yourself
Maori seem scared. The majority voted for change and to take a different direction in the 2023 election. What do they
not understand?
Busu lady, acts with itimidation and aggression.
The Government might just be starting to realise this is a dumb move to have a go at Tangata Whenua. So who they gunna blame for this potential mess? The Palestinians or the Yeminis perhaps....
The Govt is not worried about a few fanatical radicals.
Wtf....
stuff the questions as Nats are for Kiwis not iwis as we elected them to be duh...there are no special groups as same rights for all ffs..
these jokers can't even represent all maori
🤔Its about "Obolishing Te Triity, the Treaty o Waitangi" 🤔Isnt it?
BOO HOO POOR LITTLE CRYBABY
Wrong again lady... Maori are NOT THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE TO NZ
By the way most us can read for ourselves on the govt. website.
They ceded yes but the other writer is clearly delusional.
MAORI are beautiful people and well educated people Will take no rubbish You wait till FEB 6th Ratana is only the beginning As part Kiwi / Fijian 🇫🇯 I believe the Maori are far too strong and if all tribes unite the government will listen Also don’t take the MĀORI people lightly well educated in the European system the law of New Zealand 🇳🇿 And their culture which too me is a very spiritual Also how many MAORI are in the NZ army And fought And died Under the NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿 🇫🇯/🇳🇿.
Its about the CROWN GOVERNMENT AND MAORI OK GUYS NOT ABOUT YOU KIWI FRUITS 😂
Everything Debbie says is right in regards to Maori and the Government. Tautoko her the kingitanga and the Maori Party. Hopefully this Government will listen and not do whatever they want without consulting Maori like it has happened so many times in the past.

That is not the truth. For the record, white supremacy existed in Maori culture too. Fair skin associated with high rank and darker less esteemed. Ngarewa Packer is wrong to use skin colour as a weapon. We are fellow countrymen.
