Hey Ross, you should compare Vulkan Siege to DX12 siege. Cause in next season Vulkan option is being removed in favour of DX12. Would be nice to see a comparison to see if both give similar results or Vulkan is better than DX12 or vice versa.
on dx12 my 99th% / 1% low fps dropped from 240+ to 140- during movement so there is degraded performance on an amd system at least. it feels like unstable framepacing and frametime spikes aka microstutter while moving the mouse or shooting. dx11 also has this problem but i never cared because vulkan ran smooth but now they removed vulkan so I'm afraid performance will drop for everyone, unless it's a ryzen and or radeon problem. avg fps dropped from 300-400 to 250-310ish but that isn't noticable on a 240hz monitor but the 140 low fps is definitely noticable and makes me quit after a match or 2 :/

Motion blur has been in Siege really long time, it's just hasn't been inside the game. It has been possible to turn off for years, just only from gamesettings files.
I wish the screen didn't get quite so intensely colored from just taking a little bit of damage, the vision darkening effect is only really needed when you're low health
Motion blur is when a object in the world moves, a blur effect will happen on that object (this of course includes the players camera). This is not motion blur, I would assume its a shader effect (for those unaware what a shader is in games, it is a bunch of code that does cool stuff. stuff like this, the easiest way to make it is a shader. please do research shaders if you are interested, they can get complicated and hard to explain). they should change this and call it "Damage Shader Effects" rather than "Motion Blur" edit: i see it effects actual motion blur as well. so maybe it should stick to motion blur. but again, the hit effect is not motion blur, its a shader.

If you're being shot at like that you're being suppressed it should fuck your vision up and if you think about it in real life if a bullet was coming by you,youd definitely be panicked. Motion Blur in r6 isn't new..... It's the game settings ini. Been turning it off over the years of having to reinstall r6, they just moved it to the menus.

I have mixed feelings about this, on one hand it was annoying every now and then and I wished it was removed back in the days, but later on I came to realization that it is a part of gunfights and being the first to hit would give you a gunfight advantage blurring enemy vision which in it's turn created layer of depth to the gunfights, in a game where oneshot-headshot is a key gunfight principle disorienting enemy's eyesight had been quite important, as I see it, this change is not as one-sided and positive as it was with screen-shake. Better alternative would be to give players "reduced" feature, but that you wouldn't be able to disable it completely.
The fact that people desire literal distortion of the image you are seeing that also hinders peripheral over a new setting that just hinders peripheral is insane to me. Genuinely baffling.
I honestly am not a fan of being able to turn these settings on and off: I would prefer to keep it on for gameplay sake, but I’m essentially forced to turn it off just to be on an even playing field 🤷🏻♂️.

Even Overwatch which was already competitive decided to change to 5v5 instead of 6v6 for more “competitive team structures”. This shift in the gaming industry to having no middle of the road PvP FPS is quite disappointing tbh.

Siege was much better when it was more oriented on realism and immersion than on competitiveness and fancy aesthetics. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate when there's an option in-game that makes things more comfortable for each individual (I wish they could add an option to locally deactivate skins), but with all these little changes, the game lost his personality as a tactical shooter (no more night maps, big nerfs, embarrassing operator skins, weird op abilities and so on) and everything is being shaped to accommodate high level competitiveness. Operation health was the last cool step from devs to really take care for the game. The rest was just a big downfall.

All these have done is give toggleable advantages that slowly strip away at the game until everyone is using the same settings and every little effect is basically removed from the game. If people could disable directional hit indicators they probably wouldn't even if it could overstimulate them, so I do find it quite ironic saying I have a skill issue yet you probably want a minimum of 120fps and every effect turned off to compensate

@@little_error295 I don't need it, but it's really annoying that the "best" players seem to have all the accessibility options disabled like they get a headache from them. All these have done is give toggleable advantages that slowly strip away at the game until everyone is using the same settings and every little effect is basically removed from the game.
If people could disable directional hit indicators they probably wouldn't even if it could overstimulate them, so I do find it quite ironic saying I have a skill issue yet you probably want a minimum of 120fps and every effect turned off to compensate

Every new pc game i play the first settings i always hit are
FOV 120
FPS 140 or unlocked
VSync off
Motion blur off
And Depth of field off
