Brother, your work is excellent. Don't pay attention to what people say. keep going..... They make a very wonderful sword. I love the Japanese samurai sword.
Metallurgy has always been fascinating to me but I never had the time to emerge into it as much as I wanted. I've worked construction my whole life, I'm retired now but it still find it fascinating. Thank you for your videos.
There are so many guys out there making knives, but you're the only one melting down various steela to make your own wootz billets. Absolutely incredible work and I'm absolutely fascinated by watching the various combinations of metals you put together. Will you ever dabble with adding specific adjuncts to your billets like vanadium, molybdenum, or nickel? I would love to see some experimental alloys to see how they turn out.
Hes really one of the only smiths on youtube that i have seem thats making TRUE damascus. Or at least the closest modern day smiths will come to true damascus
@@DirtRoadKing007 Agreed. I really hesitate to even call modern pattern welded billets "Damascus". Honestly, the only other smith that I've seen making their own billets like this is Bob Kramer. I'm sure there are others, but these are the only two I know of.
@@coltonthorpe7812 domt get me wrong with modern day machining and knowledge, the patterns and mosaic pieces that smiths like Ilya alexiav, kyle royer, norse forge, and multiple others on youtube have created are works of art and not to take anything away from that level of skill
Thank you for sharing. The blade is absolutely gorgeous. However, I have some concerns about the guard: its edges are likely to make it somewhat uncomfortable.
I've always loved the grain patterns in Wootz Damascus steel knives.. Awesome build.. You never fail in making sweet amazing blades... Thank you for sharing...🗡🗡🗡
Respect man. I'm the one person in the world who has gotten worse at knife making over the years instead of better. I just can't seem to get clean lines....you make it look so easy.

Amazing to see you work really enjoying the start all the metal into the crucible and then into the fire. That billet looked very hard even hot makes me wander what the Stanley blades be like being tungsten steel alloy. What you have made is beautiful that blade looks awesome

How do you make your crucibles?
Can you tel me what materials you use to make your crucibles?
Try to make knife from razor blades (shaving)
No one at TH-cam made it

One of the most beautiful Dirk's I've ever seen. It's got a bit of a bayonet vibe too, but a knife to be proud of
I've made 1000 knives, don't know how much of that was the video editing but that was fantastic
Замечательная концепция, исполнителю респект... Удачи...

@@TyinAlaska naww, I don't want to rely on those. Plus they only seem to work with basic blade shapes and then you still have to freehand anyways
