I made myself a themed reading bingo (the theme is songs from my favorite band Joker Out) to diversify my reading a bit and read with purpose, but without big constraints. Some of my friends even joined when I shared the bingo :D
I want to read 200 books (as I do every year) and I don't really have any resolutions other than trying to read a lot of books from the library and my shelves. I also recently dedicated a page in my reading journal to all the series I'm in the middle of so I don't forget about them and I get to check a box once I'm finished with a book so that's satisfying as well
regarding finishing series: just do whatever works for you and don't feel pressured to hit a certain amount of points or whatever just to say that you did, it has to be fun for you!
I'm really excited about your conted this year! My goals are: 1. Building up a reading habit, since I would love to read more often! 2. Getting more creative with my annotations and dont stress too much of doing them perfectly. A few days ago I looked in one of my first annotated books, and it was sooo colourful and there were so many pretty doodles, I really miss doing them, so i would love to do more of this again. 3. Reading more digital/ from the library and only buying physical copies of books I enjoyed or definitely know I will love. 4. Finish books I bought before buying a million others. And finish series before starting a million others. :D Wish you all a great reading year📚🤎✨️
One of my reading goal is to read 12 classics this year. So one a month, maybe. This month I actually read 2. The Woman in White and A Night to Remember
Sooo excited for 24/48 hour vlogs, I don't know why but for some reason this type of reading vlog motivates me like no other! Have a fab reading year Emily :)
My main reading goal for the year is the same as last year, and that is to read what's on my shelves and not buy so many books. I'm not gonna do a buying ban or anything - I can still buy books I'm really excited about and new releases. But in 2023 I bought way too many books without really thinking much about what I bought and even though I read a lot I couldn't keep up. So last year I got my physical tbr down from 135 to 62 which I was really proud of! I don't want to go to zero, but if I can get to 30 or so unread books I think that is a good amount to still have lots of options but not be overwhelmed. And then I want to try to keep it there going forwards.
I read 375 books in 2024. I focused on authors and genres I love most and this really worked for me. You definitely saved me from some sub par books with your reviews and also steered me towards some wonderful books like Wedding People. My goal for 2025 is to read 300 books. I want to slow down and savor great prose like Serviceberry, the City of Night Birds, and the Lion Women of Tehran. So far The Midnight Feast, Fable, and Rental House were surprisingly good and kicked off a great start to 2025. I look forward to following your amazing literary journey in 2025.
I mostly want to continue my goals from last year: - read about 10% non-fiction - read from a diverse range of authors - continue to write reviews and be vocal if I have issues with books. I think it's more important than ever to be a critical reader.
I am trying to read more on my own shelves. I am doing a low buy year so perfect time to really shop my own home. Also trying to read Shakespeare's plays.
My goals are 20-25% nonfiction (so about one a month), five star February (reading books I think I'll give 5 stars to instead of letting them sit on my TBR), and shelf September (get through some of the books on my bookshelf). We'll see how successful I am while juggling 3 bookclubs!
I downloaded The Sound of the Mountain by Yasunari Kawabara on Kindle. I had no idea what it was except it was on sale and I had a credit. Now I'm hooked in this author and want more! Next I want to read Snow Country! Soooooo good!!!
I don't read many nonfiction... Could you maybe made a video suggesting some that are fun to read? Also, very random, but, wow, I never noticed how white your teeth are! Very pretty😊 Also number 2, always so great to hear you feel better and better health wise🎉🎉🎉
I have this one for beginners' rec (th-cam.com/video/OcUK-KYZsps/w-d-xo.html), this one for some favorites (th-cam.com/video/l3KywfJXHiQ/w-d-xo.html) and this one I review all the ones I read in a year (th-cam.com/video/nAE51gH6KQY/w-d-xo.html). You'll definitely be able to choose some to read there :) Thank you! I just finished my Invisalign so I've been looking forward to whitening my teeth. I swear the ring light makes them look whiter!
I'll try to read 50 books. Of those, I'll try to read more big books because I used to keep them for later. Well, this is later. And, maybe I'll try some non-fiction for a change. 🤷♀️ Good luck with all your reading resolutions! (No sarcasm. I really mean it.) ❤📚🐈⬛
My main goal is to get back into reading. I used to read 3 books a week at minimum. Nowadays, not so much. I would also like to read books outside of my comfort zone.
I wish there was a guide that the publishers use to categorize books so I could avoid certain book classifications. It would lower my DNFs and big disappointments. If you ever find it, let us know. I hope that you continue to feel good and have more fun reading new book favorites.
I read what I like, when I want and in the manner that brings me happiness, with the goal being to enjoy the book. I can’t image setting a number goal and have to calculate the speed at which I’d consume literature to hit that arbitrary number. Good luck though
I gave birth 2 weeks ago so I can't read as much as last year and I feel reading books i'm excited about is a must. I've read 3 books since then and they're all 2 stars which is a bummer .....
Congrats on the new addition. Just remember it’s okay to quit a book if you aren’t getting on well with it. I will keep going if it feels like it’s a going to be a 3 but if it moves into 2-2.5 territory, then it’s time to leave. I use Storygraph where they have 0.25 stars. I do sometimes end up with 2.75 (Ok but didn’t like it) or 3.25 (Ok but I did like it a little).
Tbh big books countind double makes sense to me. Counting each book maybe not so much... but maybe you could coubt each book, big books count for 2 and finishing/giving up/catching up could be sth like 3/4 points. You could even make it more of a game with a point sistem like this one!
Idea for your "read it or unhaul it" videos. Pick one genre/colour per video. Since you already have genres marked in your jar, why not pick a genre according to your mood?
Did you ever get around to The Eyes are the Best Part? It was really fun if you want a horror kind of "good for her" kind of book lol. I gave it 4 stars
My only genre goal is that 10% of my reads are nonfiction by end of year. Other than that sticking with fantasy, sci-fi, and classics unless something outside catches my eye.
I’m predicting that the third Book of Dust novel will still not be released in 2025. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that’s it’s been over five years since The Secret Commonwealth came out and the third book still hasn’t been released given how The Secret Commonwealth was received.
Do you have any reading goals or bookish resolutions for 2025?
There are certain books that I keep saving for later that I need to finally read. 2025 is the year for that.
Yes!! I think that's partially what I've been doing with my series (and Octavia Butler...)
I want to read more non-fiction.

😺 cat backup singers are so adorable.
I have a kitty cat glee club outside my Window almost everyday. They apparently like to rehearse there😂😂
They have so much to say XD I'm putting Clawdia to work in my next vlog!
i absolutely love the idea of implementing other things into the blog that aren’t book related but obviously still keeping it book centered !!

Also trying to read Shakespeare's plays.
Clawdia wants to be the star of this show so badly. lmao
She has her moment in my next vlog! Don't think it will satisfy her but I tried XD
“That sounded bad with my accent didn’t it…… we’re just gonna ignore that” 😂😂😂 love your humor!
Hs are so hard 😭

I'm looking forward to future videos and how you tackle your reading resolutions and goals.
I hope you'll have all the fun that you're looking for this year! 🎉
So your yearly theme is basically: Girl Just Wants to Have Fun!!
I downloaded The Sound of the Mountain by Yasunari Kawabara on Kindle. I had no idea what it was except it was on sale and I had a credit. Now I'm hooked in this author and want more! Next I want to read Snow Country! Soooooo good!!!
its gonna be a fun year!!

That's a good philosophy, 2025 is the time!!
LOL good luck always sounds so sarcastic when you're the one writing it
The eyes are the best part was my fav horror last year such a good audiobook
My library doesn't have the audiobook but I have the ebook on my waiting list!
Oops I saw this after I made my comment 😅
Lol, Claudia meowing sounds like my two a lot, and I keep checking to see what they want when I her.
My main goal is to get back into reading. I used to read 3 books a week at minimum. Nowadays, not so much. I would also like to read books outside of my comfort zone.
My only resolution for this year is to read. I'm in my last year of phD and the pressure has been a lot, so if i can still read, that is amazing
I would love to hear your non-fiction tbr!
I wish there was a guide that the publishers use to categorize books so I could avoid certain book classifications. It would lower my DNFs and big disappointments. If you ever find it, let us know. I hope that you continue to feel good and have more fun reading new book favorites.
There are definitely books that should be “labelled” differently. It makes it hard to adjust your expectations
Claudia omg 😂😂 I don't know how you concentrate to talk with all that meowing 😂😂😂
I edit out all the clips of me talking to her and sighing 😂
She’s relentless but only when I film/hide being a closed door
@BookswithEmilyFox 😂😂😂😂 cats being cats. And I don't mind if you keep the clips
I hope we will get a read it it or unhaul it video soon 😍
It’s already filmed!
I read what I like, when I want and in the manner that brings me happiness, with the goal being to enjoy the book. I can’t image setting a number goal and have to calculate the speed at which I’d consume literature to hit that arbitrary number. Good luck though
with big Fantasy books I switched to audiobook the last 1-2 years cause I found that that's the easiest way for me to get through them
My main goal is reading what I have and using my library for audio
I gave birth 2 weeks ago so I can't read as much as last year and I feel reading books i'm excited about is a must. I've read 3 books since then and they're all 2 stars which is a bummer .....
Congratulations ❤ good luck with finding only the best reads from now on!

Not the accent doing you dirty on "horror girly" 🤣
Hs are the worst 💀 I need a new word for that genre!

Not yet! It takes me forever to pick up ebooks but it's still on my waiting list at the library.
My 2025 challenge is to read 12 nonfiction books!
📚💙❄️
My only genre goal is that 10% of my reads are nonfiction by end of year. Other than that sticking with fantasy, sci-fi, and classics unless something outside catches my eye.
Hope you find some good NF!
@bookswithemilyfox thanks! it went really well last year so I’m very hopeful.
More cat clips sprinkled in to videos? Claudia clearly wants to participate lol
There will be plenty of kitties in the next vlog :)

Horror and mystery work better for me than thrillers. I’ve also stopped reading domestic thrillers because I never like them
The butt censorship 😂

Yeah it was really disappointing so I'm not waiting anymore :/
@@BookswithEmilyFoxDid you watch the TV series of His Dark Materials? I loved it.
I did! I grew up reading the series so I'm probably not objective but I liked it too
❤️📚🐱
Hi I recommend a book called let them by the amazing Mel Robinson ❤
“Horror Girlie” merch in 3… 2…
My goals for 2025:
1. Read 60 books
2. Buy 8 books in 8 months (February through September)
3. Give all my books a home 😅
100 books in a year it’s a book each 3,65 days, which means the count should be at 6-7 by now 😳😳
I've finished 7 so far and 2 I put down at ~33%!
Why don't you make a challenege to read top 3 books of 2024 from your favourite booktubers?
I have also discovered I really enjoy a lot of horror!
Please film home tour and cat videos and make up and clothing hauls and etc ❤😊❤😊😊❤😊❤📙📙📙📚📖📖📚📙📙📚📖📚📙📙📖📚
