If you listen to Don't Be Cruel' and Karyn White' back to back, you will notice they likely were recorded around the same time. Both of those projects were their biggest success.

My roommate from virginia would have his stereo system blasting in the room with this cut on as we were getting suited & booted to hit the club. Man those were the days. Music back then had so much substance,creativity,passion,soul,vibe,funk ect. I just don't see or hear any of this in today's music. I know times change & so do people,but we old schoolers know there is a BIG difference. I wish we can all go back.

I really began to admire Karyn White musically from that point on and I have to say her 1989 songs were just as good as those from her follow-up album in 1991.
