The looks definitely scream "Hatchback Converted Sedan" but I do think is looks OK. And there are a few advantages with this design.
You sit higher than most sedans giving you a good view out and on longer journeys it is more comfortable with an airy cabin.
For a damn tall person like me the interior fits me perfectly.
The rear seats(apart from the lack of headrests) are the best in the Segment. Most small sedans will have a lot of legroom but no thigh or leg support. This has a low floor and high roofline. And it helps a lot for the rear passangers.
Visibility is close to perfect with big, tall windows, plus it's easy to just look around for traffic.
Most of all he forgot to mention the seats in this car are one of the best I've sat in. It's not bad at all.
However if Proton did a manual on the premium. I would buy that car. in a heartbeat. Because I've driven the manual and it was awesome

I like the manual too. The CVT here's better than in the Iriz though.
Kemayan Labu Oh definitely. I personally like CVT automatics as it compliments my driving style. And it gets good fuel economy too!
However I still prefer driving a stick compared to an auto anytime. No matter how congested KL may be. haha

as for me, the rear seat is one the biggest drawback. there are no adjusted headrest like in the Iriz, and the fixed headrest is a little bit low. plus, the leg room for rear seat also very small, probably because of the big size of the trunk.

Simple review . . This's absolutely not fair !
At 2.19,I think they pull the front seat all the way in front to show the rear seat spacious legroom, but what I see in Showroom is different,when the front seat adjust to driving position, the rear seat legroom is small like hell.
Proton car is like a little girl u know since childhood, u know she is a good girl, being bad and naughty during teen age. Now she trying to be good and mature. U like her very much, but u scare one day she will betray u. i think some consumer have the same feeling with proton, they know the car is well built and ride well, but with the past it have, some might just turn away and just look at the Japanese-Malaysian mixed girl

i'm undergoing the process of owning one but with the Persona standard variant. i've had my sweet experience with a Perodua myvi 1.3 basic, and now looking forward for an engine power upgrade. let's just hope it turns out for the better. might even make a comparative review on them.

loved the review. but personal point of view this persona looks very underwhelming compared to older one. i had the black one manual, that car felt heavy, powerful, great suspension and looked awesome on road,this looks like a toad and soft small car. perhaps a better engine and interior but older one was a beast. esp black and purple ones looked so good

looking at the exterior; the only thing I like about this car are those brake lights. I would say unique. Am I the only one?

Why the car does not come with arm rest? I think Central console is an very good feature in any car.
What's up with all the new Proton cars having their wheels be so small? It looks ugly. also what is up with the narrow and tall body styling? It's hideous.

You should try test drive first.
the review says there's the 'CVT clutch jerk' in the Persona. I personally think its a car trait that disappears with extensive use. As a driver, you get use to the clutch jerk and learn to get around it, reducing the jerk.

betul bro. As you drive, your foot responds better to the CVT. Hence, less/ 0 jerk felt. Its not a big issue, so am surprised the review sees that as an issue here

Proton doesn't understand the stickers that says, "QC Passed". They paste this stickers on every part of the car. Yet the car has lots of defects. Bad experience with owning one and will never trust buying another one.

What do you mean by it jerks? It's a CVT.
It's a clutch-based CVT means there slight jerking when it engages the gear to move. There's also torque converter-based CVT which is smoother in operation. Proton uses the former while most Japanese CVT's use the latter.

akhmuadz D'Zunnur this is premium. The one with body kit is optional which costs extra RM1k. Executive variant doesn't have push start button, nor touch screen head unit.

Afeeq Hasan without taxes the price just going down like 10-15%.Just use your brain man,with our currency exchange values,no hopping to get a new & great car below 60K.Unless we live in USA,UAE & England where you can find a car below 20K in their currency like the toyota Camry Hybrid.which is considered cheap.
That is why they can afford a car that cost like 100K-200K in our country like buying a super bike in our country which cost like 20K-30K.
Haha... I just wonder why new saga n persona got ugly design, who approve the design, really want to meet him/her..for saga they make curvy inward shape for the butt, n pair it with grumpy shape rear lamp which make the back of saga looks smaller, why we need 'A' segment car look smaller? Lol..
