i watched this video already, but never finished it til the end, because i was looking for the right lug nuts to get. Never knew you were into keyboards! I have a whole custom keyboard collection haha
I have the same lugs but in red. Very happy with them and bought mine for the same reasons you mentioned.
Your car looks very clean, high end and fantastic.. I really loved your style..
Just ordered a set. I originally went with sickspeed. But those things are a joke. The molding on the lock nut splines were cracked. I wouldn't want to torque them down on my TE's and have it snap off, then have to resort to cutting them off and risking scratching my beautiful wheels. Thanks for the video, these look to be much higher quality, hopefully I like them 👍
Just bought these for my 20 WRX, upgrading wheels and tired to enkei ts10 18x9.5 +35 wrapped with 255/40. She gonna look minty haha
Kyocei (aka kicks) lug nuts are of very good quality.
You can really imagine a lug sensei with 20 years of lug experience, making them. 😂
Jokes aside, they are really good. I also liked the fact that you can have them in black chrome, perfectly fitting the colour on Rays and Yokohama wheels.
I spent $75 on a oil cap for my Subaru and $250 on a shift knob…..my wife wasn’t happy even with how good they look
You are what matters and that’s final!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂
Your first problem was telling your wife the price 😂😂😂
they never understand what these cars mean to us
STi owner and a gamer, heck yes. Waiting for BF2042 here, sick of Warzone.
Dayum. A lug nut for your lug nut.
looks great chris!i have the r40 iconix but kinda think switching to yperiontitanium if they werent super expensive😂
Great lug! I thought about these as well.
May I check with you which lug nuts and sizing work best for a set of 20in Volk TE37 Ultra M-Spec Diamond Dark Gun Metal with locks? Would love to see a few options with different price points. Thank you in advance advance :)
thx for this video! also where did you end up getting plastic hub centric rings? need recommendations for my aftermarket wheels
Subispeed
Would you consider the TNR-1 Lug Nuts Spitfire from raceseng would look awesome with all the titanium finish you have on the car
They would, but they are $900 haha. Even I have my limits.
Project Kics here I come, after watching this I have to get me some! 🤣🤣 I now have one question for you, why no center cap on the rims to conceal a utilitarian OEM locking Plain Jane cotter and hub from view 🤔? Strictly speaking it is a simple look 👀, that follows your basic playbook. But when you consider the artistry of the lugs, and the calliper too, it appears that this area of a great looking rim requires the same level of attention by you.
The center caps that are offered for these wheels aren’t my bag. Yes, I have something planned for the axle nuts.
Hey Chris, are you worried at all about not running extended studs with the spacers you have in the front? I really would prefer to run closed lugs, but I will be running 5mm spacers and they will most likely need extended studs
Im only running 3MM spacer up front. Lots of thread on the lugs. Anything over that, I would switch to extended studs.
Did you add any anti-seize to the threads before applying the lug nuts? I'm being told online that since these are aluminum nuts, anti-seize should be used. If not, did you have issues taking them on and off?
I did not and I didn’t have any issues.
I have these exact lug nuts. They look awesome, pain in the butt to unscrew all the covers when taking it to get tires rotated because the shop will not know. For me they did not stay black. They turned to a faded bronze kind of color from the sun. That’s just my experience.
Luckily, I handle all tire rotations and oil changes myself so don’t have to worry about that. We shall see how they hold up, but relatively, all my black lugs I’ve had over the years have stayed looking good.
@@Scoobyfreak86 you definitely have a great set up there in your garage! I hope to have one like that one day to do all the maintenance on my wrx. I still love the lugs and honestly kind of digging the bronze look but I just thought I would let you know that unfortunately they do fade lol. All the best luck though.
I appreciate the heads up and kind words!
Just got my hyper black advan tc4 in. Debating about these.
They would look great with those wheels!
Nice!
Did you put anything on your main hub locking nut to keep from rusting? I have TE37'S and they don't make center caps (I also like the raw look anyways) but I really want to keep it clean and rust free.
I haven’t but I just hit it with a steel brush every so often. You can throw some paint on top if you want to keep it looking nice.
@@Scoobyfreak86 I want to keep the steel metal look. I like it. I just don't want it rusting. I'd love to find replacements in stainless buy I have no idea where I would find them.
Look into titanium works. They make titanium axle nuts. They will stay looking good forever. I’ll have a video on them soon.
If these fit my te37 Ultra I would like to buy from you, :)
I’m surprised you were able to get your hands on these lugs. I bought these since early May and I’m currently still waiting for them to ship 😪
They were in stock at subispeed. I usually shop around to find places that show them in stock and I ask to confirm. I can’t do the waiting thing haha.
Hey buddy I installed a aftermarket steering wheel it show everywhere just to unplug the battery terminal but when I got done my windows didn’t work normal and I don’t know what else and end up in the dealership nobody show after the installation everything when good
th-cam.com/video/hXEz1NSifpU/w-d-xo.html
Titanium lug nuts are perfect 👌😁 Titanium lug nuts are 29% stronger and nearly 50% lighter than steel which results in a decreased rotational wheel mass. I know where can you get it at a great price 😁😁
id love to know about to pull the trigger on some lug nuts for my new wheels ASAP as they came in early!
do you know if these lug nuts will work on stock 2020 sti?
Not stock wheels. Aftermarket only.
Will these work with extended lugs? I have the stuf conversion on my Jetta I believe they are 70mm and if they are closed I’m assuming the won’t work and my studs are too long
The caps are not open ended so it wouldn’t work.
Damn that sucks these things are badass
Do you have extended wheel studs or the stock studs?
Stock studs
What do you torque your wheels too ?
90ftlbs
Are looking to buy these, are they universal? Would they fit on my 21 Sti ? I got D9RS WORKS
LMK curious
They have different sizes available yes
@@Scoobyfreak86 I checked on subie speed bro and they only have universal ones, just wanted to make sure if those are the ones you have
How come you don’t run center caps? Does the hub centric ring prevent you from reinstalling center caps?
The caps that are available for the wheels aren’t the most attractive thing. Prefer to run them capless.
@@Scoobyfreak86 but they are still able to be installed? Even with the hub rings on? Thanks for your response btw! I’m all the wayyyy from Guam 🇬🇺
The caps for these wheels have integrated hub rings, so you need to remove the ones I have on now in order to use the caps that are available for these wheels.
What socket set are you using for your lug nuts? Kinda look like the Pittsburgh sockets that help prevent scratches
Yes sir. Harbor freight special.
@@Scoobyfreak86 I just picked them up the other day how are they holding up?😂
They are doing great. Haven’t had any issues with them. Great set for a good price.
@@Scoobyfreak86 for our cars only the 19 mm is needed right? I just started getting into doing maintenance and aftermarket installs on my sti so I don’t really know a whole lot but your channel has definitely helped a ton!
Yes 19 unless you are running aftermarket lugs
I'm looking at new lug nuts.. why did you get these (aluminum) over something steel?
The lugs are steel. The covers are aluminum.
@@Scoobyfreak86 ty for the responses.. I guess the size I need is just really hard to find 56.1-76.1.
also do you use metal or plastic hubcentric rings?
I use the project kics ones
@@Scoobyfreak86 oh man.. even that brand doesn't have the sizes
These look like my Work wheel lug nuts. Just wondering why didn’t you buy the work wheels lug nuts to match your car better?? Besides that feature??
I’m not running work wheels. They are wedssports.
@@Scoobyfreak86 🤣🤣🤣
I forgot! Good choice then. Now i feel stupid , maybe i should re watch the videos again.
what size tires are you on ?
265/35
You ever considered titanium works lugnuts?
I certainly have!
can you use a universal tool just in case you lost you outer key?
You need the specific lug key to loosen.
@@Scoobyfreak86 thanks man, now i’ll order one for me. And and extra key lol. I’m too lazy sometimes
The younger generation has a ton of car+pc gaming kids. This is a huge audience for either a joint or dual channel kind of idea.
For sure. I’m just after the chase of my perfect sounding and feeling keyboard. It’s a lot of fun!
@@Scoobyfreak86 Doing things that make you happy can always open doors. love the videos man. Also what are those switches, they sound juicy af lmao
Gateron red’s
How reliable is an 15’ sti with an intake and a intercooler. I’m looking at purchasing one with these existing mods. Would I need to get it tuned or is it safe to just use the car as is?
Intake you need a tune. Tmic you don’t. Fmic would do.
Hey bro, Was wondering if these lugs are a float design at the point of contact where your lug touches the wheel? So when tightening youre not scratching your wheels. Or is that not a worries with these lugs?
These are not floating hats.
@@Scoobyfreak86 no issues with scratching the wheel though?
@stephenculcasi never had that issue as I torqued them down slowly. No impact or aggressive wrenching.
@@Scoobyfreak86 thank you sir. Also one more question. I also don't like the red valve stem that come on the TE's. Where would you suggest going for a set of black stems for my 2011 sti? I don't know if I can use just any valve stem on TE's, do you happen to know?
@stephenculcasi they have black available. I got black stems on my current te’s. They came with red as well.
What wheels is that
th-cam.com/video/1oldUVVV5zg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zHmaNTDtEbajclGM
I wish these had the rotating base.
Definitely would be a nice added touch.
I'm almost leaning toward the Kics Monolith in Neochrome and black cap inserts to go with the Glim black ZR10 19x9.5 +30. With Works Flat center caps in black.
i need someone to make these out of steel
Looked into these lug nuts but personally wasn't sure how i feel about the chromoly construction. I know the r40's are really good, i dont know if these are similar.
and for next keyboard build go for a kbdfans diy kit. I reccomend the kbd67 mkii or something of the sort. if you like linear switches, try tealios, alpacas, or creams. current best stabilizers are the durock v2's, and you should also implement some case foam, stupidfish designs is a good source for that.
The chromoly is very strong. The r40’s are made of chromoly as well.
Yes, I was looking into other boards to build. I’d like to do something with a polycarb plate, alum case with foam mod, lubed creams, with the durock v2 stabs. The Glorious gmmk pro caught my attention as I like the layout of that board. I’d love me some red samurais too, but they are forever out of stock.
How are these lug nuts holding up so far?
Still look as good as day 1
@@Scoobyfreak86 awesome. gonna pick some up!
These can go on any make or model vehicle? @scobbyfreak86
Yes just need to get the right thread pitch for the vehicle you are using them on.
I see you have also been sucked into the keyboard world lol. Lube the switches its a huge difference feel and sound wise.
Haha yes I’ve gone down the rabbit hole. Yes, lubing and some proper stabs are on the list. Just wanted to try some basic mods first to get my feet wet. It’s just as addicting as cars.
@@Scoobyfreak86 it is, you can spend some serious money in this hobby as well if you let your self go lol
Only $200? I remember back in the day a set of kicks was close to $300.
ive accidentally been torquing the shell part 🤐
I need to stop watching these videos. Always want to buy stuff after watching them 😅
R/mechanicalkeyboards is leaking lol.
rgb keyboards give you a higher KD in Call of Duty 😂
You’re not wrong.
