Just like the US, but I think it is the political system that makes us poor. Who was the President in the Philippines that made the country rich? Singapore become a rich country where Lee Kuan Yew reigned for decades (1959-1990) same with China. Corruption is rampant, traditional politicians and dynasties proliferate that makes the country hard to achieve progress.

The reason why BBM renege on their agreement with the Dutertes is because they detect an ouster move after BBM did not hand over DND to VP. With regards to De Lima, Rappler, I think it is part of rehabilitating the Marcos legacy and there is no option but to go all the way with the Americans especially with international issues, the support he needed. The administration finds an anchor with its foreign policy.
