2015 SE 2.0L hatchback 111,000 miles owner here. Can confirm, (dry) dual-clutch transmission is ridiculously stupid. Most of the time I just use the “powershift” buttons or whatever on the shifter to control the gears and revs. Relying on the computer/TCM gets you into dangerous situations. It was a major known problem by the engineers in production, but higher-ups didn’t listen bc it was too costly to backpedal and redesign the production line, etc. UGH. Dry dual clutch overheats faster than a wet clutch, so it’s programmed to upshift or go to neutral as soon as possible, leaving you in limbo when trying to merge on a highway or whatever. (Class-action lawsuit)
Also the motor mounts are notorious for not holding up and causing vibration throughout the car.
But the engine still runs great 👍🏻

We have a 2018 ford focus SEL with 80,000 miles and we owned it almost 3 years and it’s the sedan variant! I can confirm that my mom said she was having some kind of issue of when she was reversing the car wouldn’t go or that it wouldn’t move backwards so she ended up turning the car off and on to get it to work but then when she goes into drive and goes up a hill sometimes she’ll say that it might stall out or that it doesn’t want to go forward, ect.. but we bought it from carvana with 23,000 miles march of 2021 and now it’s almost 3 years and 80,000 miles. Only thing we’ve had to replace on the car so far was the battery and all 4 new tires that are matching and regular oil changes but the transmission is still working and going strong besides its flaw or hiccups every now and then. I’ve used my scan tool to read any trouble codes from the engine or transmission from my scanner and it doesn’t show any issues or problems but I ended up reflashing or resetting both just to make sure if that helps it out any better or helps it clear up so that it will work better but we’ll see. The engine is really strong and really reliable and smooth at 80,000 miles and no issues or problems from the engine. But the previous owner didn’t drive it that much and they only owned it for like 2 or 3 years and it sat at another dealership and then I guess somehow carvana got it in and then that’s when we bought it with very low mileage… it is a really nice car it’s silver on the exterior and it also has all the windows tinted black including the rear and front windshield and the 4 windows tinted too

You can easily find yourself in between 30-33mpg combined, hwy mileage 36-40+ under 75mph, and city around 25mpg.
