Hat tip to all the artists who worked on this and pulled so many visual motifs through from beginning to end. Communicating on so many levels. Brilliant as always!
Last night while in bed, I actually was looking deeper into the topic of mountains and who went onto the mountains in my Bible study and its significance to each of the different people who did so! So it’s so ironic how this popped up in my YT feed this morning!
So, after going through the Sermon On the Mount with you guys this past year, I took the Lord's Prayer and turned it into a 7 part study for a retirement community I teach at once a month. This past lesson was focused on Matthew 6:10, Your kingdom come, Your desire be done, as it is in the skies, so also on the land. And the focus was the cosmic Eden mountain and how life, the spring flowing from the throne of God (the peak of the Eden mountain), breaks off into 4 separate streams to bring life to the nations, meaning it is the purpose of the people of Yahweh to take His Word to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the utter parts of the world. Thank you for all of the resources and depth you provide that make these moments possible.
I like this mountain explanation. Well done. Another mountain story is The Good Samaritan. The road from Jerusalem to Jericho is between two extreme elevations. Jerusalem is thousands of feet high, a suitable place for the Temple. Jericho is by the Dead Sea at minus 900 feet. So the story has it that the Rabbi was going DOWN the road to Jericho. In other words, not going towards God. Likewise the Priest was going down the road. Whereas the Samaritan was going up the road. He was living out his faith life whereas the ordained guys outwardly appeared to be God focused, they were not. The road from Jerusalem to Bethlehem, up to a point, is the same road. Bethlehem is at the same elevation as Jerusalem. One cannot judge from appearances whether they are on the road down or up. Only the intentionality of the traveler determines which road they are on, we can't judge others. Just because a person is a member of a Christian religion does not mean they are on the road up, just like the Rabbi and the priest in the Good Samaritan story.
I love your explanation, it reminds me of the Book of Jonah. In the NASB version, which has most of the original Hebrew literary elements, Jonah goes down in elevation each time he disobeys God. He goes DOWN from his home city to the port city of Joppa. He goes down from The port into the ship's lower quarters. And finally he gies down from the ship into the depth of the sea in the fish. After he repents, he get vomitted UP onto the shore, then goes up to Nineveh, wjich was on a hill. It's nice to see the parallels of elevation and God's glory.
2 bits of feedback: But first, I love the Bible project and have watched every video, listened to every podcast episode and completed a few of the classes, (also a monthly supporter ☺️) thank you for everything you have done and are doing! 1. I found the mountain video narration to be very toddler book esque. If that was the intention then great! 🙂 Personally I prefer the Tim/John dialogue approach to talking through a theme video. It also came across quite poetry like and lacked explanation for things like why Adam and Eve were on a mountain, which I can imagine will be quite jarring for those that haven’t been exposed to that idea over the years through the podcast. However it could lend itself to spark curiosity in the viewer leading them to the guides and further exploration/study, so that’s something that may be worth trying to measure 🤔😄 2. The behind the scenes piece was excellent! The hosts did an awesome job and it was really engaging, would love this to be a regular thing! ❤️☺️ Thanks again for everything you are doing, I have learned so much from you and used your resources a lot over the years to support with teaching people about Jesus! 👌
@ it’s certainly not immediately obvious, but Genesis 2 talks about Eden being the place where rivers start, which geographically speaking tend to start on mountains. Also Ezekiel 28:13-14 talks about Eden being on a mountain. Those are a couple of the arguments anyway 👍🙂
I love everything the Bible project puts out. I try to share it with everyone that I know or is willing to listen. Thank you so much and I look forward to more information

Hello, how do you achieve such success? I’m a Christian ✝️ and sometimes feel discouraged because of financial struggles, but I continue to trust in God. ❤️
I’m desperate to turn my finances around. Working three jobs just to pay off debt has been exhausting. Can someone share her contact details or guidance?
I searched “The Mountain” on your app and 15 podcast episodes came up, the 3 outside this Mountain Series are, the Mountain Garden and The Human Ideal (Metaphor E2), Tale of Two Mountains (Hebrews Study E8), and lastly Exile from the Cosmic Mountain (Exile E3) Thought that might be helpful to someone :)
Thank you "bible project" your channel inspired me to go to theological school and create a channel like the bible project, now after I graduated I created a Christian channel for my country. thank you God bless this channel... Lot of love from Indonesia
"The way back to the mountain is to lose what we call life and receive back the true life that God offers." We need to trust God so we can sacrifice our lives for him. It may seem like the life you have right now is the perfect life for you, but what he has in store for you is greater.
I can't stop the echoes of verses like Ephesians 1:10 says that God's plan is to unite all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. Revelation 21:2-3: Describes how heaven and earth will become one, with no wall of separation Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus states that he has all authority in heaven and on earth Revelation 21:18: Describes the new heaven and new earth, with a wall made of jasper and a city made of pure gold. Thank your for making this content Bible Project team ❤
God did not say 'It is good' on the second day of creation when He divided the waters and created the heavens. But on the third day He said 'It is good' twice, one after dividing the waters and creating the earth, and the other after the vegetation appeared. Meaning heaven and earth are meant to be a pair!
I was also thinking about how many Bible characters had significant encounters with mountains 🏔️these past few days. The way how God lead us is beautiful. God bless❤💜😎
Just love your channel and the drawings that go with all your videos. It's just awesome and looking forward to watching the coming episodes on "The Mountain". Congrats once again for all your endeavours!

The story of “the sacrifice of Isaac” is one of my favorites. First, ironic title. But so much more… The parallels of a father sacrificing his son, the son willingly carrying the wood on which he was to be sacrificed, the 3 day journey, Abraham’s prophecy that “the Lord will provide a lamb”, the mountain symbolism you’re referencing and so much more. Gods ability to weave His will throughout history among His free-willed creation is awesome, in the most literal meaning of the word.
This ministry is amazing; the videos sweep you up into the big story of the Bible whilst unveiling the details we need in a way that is soo beautiful! Thank you!

Jesus grant me strength. Just last week I was telling a friend how God had invited ALL of Israel up the mountain, but they were afraid so Moses went alone (and that I don't want to be afraid to go up the mountain to meet with God)...love seeing that as well as God's presence coming down represented visually!
Hi guys, Thanks for that beautiful video. I'm studying at Western Seminary (Tim, you inspired me to go there), and today, I explained in a class forum about the word "mountain" as an image of the place where the gods dwell. (Yeah, I listen to your podcast and read Heiser.) What a great coincidence to stumble upon this video now, which you just uploaded yesterday. Love your work. You are doing a great ministry for the kingdom. Ben
I remember being part of your journey since 2021 wherein I am still starting my own clothing brand years after I'm still here and my business is slowly going International! Glory to the Most High God Jesus Christ! Thank you The Bible Project Team for being an Instrument to our King. Have a great week you guys
Such an amazing video as always, an eye opener. I do have to add that the bonus content made me realize how one can use the awesomes skills (like programming, video/sound editing, etc) for ministry. It is now my life ambition to do the same, so thank you guys so much for all that you do!
Hello BibleProject, I follow your posts and have downloaded pretty much all the videos for my use here in Lusaka, Zambia. I'm a pastor, and teaching is my passion. The resources you produce are very insightful for me and truly useful. Do you have notes on this Mountain Symbolism?
Love the video and breakdowns as always! Have you guys considered doing wallpapers based on the videos? The artwork is so beautiful it would be great to be able to have it in a shareable format
I was about to contribute money to The Bible Project but I am startled by the lack of diversity behind the scenes. I will pray for the Lord to make me rich so I can fund a Bible Project that reflects the ENTIRE CHURCH.
Ideal presentation about True Life! I feel glad, and ongoing appreciation , towards the crew who participates their talents for clearly expressing Living knowledge. Cheerfully supporting all good works BPissues!!!

Looking forward to this. Glory to God. Jesus our dear Lord is the better Moses. A better Elijah. He is that Lamb of God that was sacrificed on that same Mnt where Abraham was told God will provide a lamb. As Moses went to Mnt Sinai for the Law from God so to Jesus brings a new way of life, on the Mnt of Olives. The up-sided down Kingdom
I would not call Jesus a better Elijah. They are different categories. I think of Elijah as an Old Testament precursor to John the Baptist. Jesus came to save and fulfill the promise, and Elijah came to prophesy and and prepare.

Their work environment is so bright and full of energy ❤ and puppy too? Goal!!!!

Truly amazing. God bless you guys
😂😂 love you guys! You really make us feel like part of the team
I was about to contribute money to The Bible Project but I am startled by the lack of diversity behind the scenes. I will pray for the Lord to make me rich so I can fund a Bible Project that reflects the ENTIRE CHURCH.
Their voices calming ❤
The illustration interesting ❤
THANK YOU BIBLE PROJECT 🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰

Hi Beth Good morning. I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌺🌺🌺
This is fantastic. Also loved the question time at the end, it was super fun to see behind then scenes a bit more.
PRAISE THE LORD❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would not call Jesus a better Elijah. They are different categories. I think of Elijah as an Old Testament precursor to John the Baptist. Jesus came to save and fulfill the promise, and Elijah came to prophesy and and prepare.
@@BrianOxleyTexan Amen and Glory to God. God bless you brother.
