    Excellent video! Took the mystery out of adjusting the clutch on my Sport Glide.

    Great instructional video! You explained it so even a guy like myself would have the confidence to do this type service if I owned this style of bike. I know that many riders could benefit from your video and save some major money over dealers service prices! As always stay safe and keep it sleezy!

      Thanks for the feedback! I always try to make it easy for the viewer since some steps can get confusing in the service manual. Visuals always make it better, I believe.

    Very good video well explained and great coverage. Made me feel confident to carry out the adjustment

    That's different. So all the adjustment is now done from the primary, and the cable is automatically committed. Never seen that before. On all the bikes I've had, you pretty much do the same procedure in the primary and then manually adjust the tension at the cable with a couple of 1/2 to 9/16 wrenches. Interesting. Great tutorial. I learned something new.

    Great video. What are your thoughts on HD Syn3 20w50 in the primary?

    • @DCyclemoto
      @DCyclemoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never use the HD stuff. It’s been labeled by many as a cheap oil. Lately I’ve been using the Lucas 20w50 non synthetic moto oil in the crack case. Works great!

    I watched almost every video about adjusting clutch on m8.
    Everybody suggest to turn back 3/4 turn, what's the difference between one half or one turn?

    • @DCyclemoto
      @DCyclemoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly haven’t tried both so I can’t tell you but I imaging the feel would be minimal. As long as you are in that neighborhood, you should be fine. 7 months later, I am happy with the adjustment still.

    Damn D these service vids are great. I want a SG just so I have a good instructor for my own service. Really Brother great work.

    Followed these instructions to a T.. I went for the 1/2 turn instead of 3/4 or 1 full. My issue is that my clutch cable free play at the lever keeps loosening and makes my clutch feel spongy… I go from about 1/8th it an inch of play when I pull on the cable away from the housing to almost 3/8 of an inch. Any ideas? The red buttons threads aren’t stripped out so I don’t think it’s that.. but I’m lost now as to what could be wrong

    • @DCyclemoto
      @DCyclemoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try the 3/4 turn and see if you get better results.

      @@DCyclemoto it happens after a ride, I have done it twice now and I still get way more slack after the ride.. clutch feels good but the handle keeps walking out, should I re adjust the tension on the handle? Without messing with the basket?

    Very good. So one question remains, how do you adjust the friction point (before the clutch start to grab) at the clutch lever?

  • @Moose32890
    @Moose32890 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have an aftermarket clutch cable on mine. Despite loosening it as much as I can, I still have very slight movement at the primary when squeezing the lever. And I think the guy that installed it over torqued the jam nut because I can’t even undo it without the entire assembly starting to move. I think he adjusted it wrong because I can’t find neutral when it’s running anymore 🤦🏻‍♂️

    I've been hearing a slight buzzing sound at specific rpm's. It's coming from the riders left. I think it's this.
