I would say - it's the best for cakes, making your own alcohol, cleaning house and cleaning wounds, if no other stuff is available. It's way too dangerous for casual drinking though.
Now and then it can be used for drinking... if you're in a hurry and can't wait until normal vodka bangs you in your head. As a Pole I must say though, we rarely do it... I used to drink it a couple of times only, usually from those brown Arcoroc glasses, you know, the ones that can't be broken. The shots you have are too small and are just a waste of time and energy
Ive had that 95% liquor before, but we played it smart (we thought) by buying a bunch of empty gelcaps from the healthfood store and filling those, swallowing them like pills. With a full breath of air in my lungs, I immediately pour the entire contents of the glass down my throat. 7. I drink a cool Pepsi or Coke. And now the results. I didn't have a hangover after that. You drink with awareness and suddenly turn off your brain and fall asleep :) The downside is that in the morning after getting up you are still drunk and it's hard to stand up :)

Ciara looked at Dermot after that Spirytus like she was thinking: "For you, this is the strongest shot you've ever had, but for me... it was a Tuesday".
Actually mostly we use it in Poland to make "nalewki" putting forrest fruilts like raspberries and sugar in it. Pure ethanol takes way more flavour from them than lover voltage.
Watching Gráinne go from this seemingly prim and proper Irish lady from her first videos to what a super fun young woman she is now has been one of the best things I've seen on Try.
I'd chalk it up to possibly not knowing everyone and being a bit reserved because of it. You can tell she is much more comfortable with the other Try'ers now.
YES YES YES! Dermot and Ciara were paired together. I have been wanting them to be paired for such a long time, especially in an alcohol tasting video. Made my day.
Łomża is a regular Polish beer, nothing special. The 9% Karpackie would be considered mostly a drink for alcoholics/students who drink for cheap. Wyborowa is one of the better regular price vodkas. And Spirytus' main usage is in the production of homemade fruit (mostly, other flavors do exist) liqueurs called Nalewkas. Not drank straight that often by most people.
Yup, Poland definitely has tons (hectoliters?) of beers which are far better than Łomża or Karpackie to offer. Pinta Atak Chmielu, Kormoran Świeże or Jagiełło Pilsner are just my few random picks that you may want to try if you happen to see them. Most baltic porters produced in Poland are great too (with Żywiec Porter being the absolute timeless classic which you NEED to try). As for Wyborowa straight - it's my poison of choice for a long time when it comes to vodkas, so Dermot's reaction brought a smile to my face and awakened some sense of national pride in my soul :) Job well done, Poland ;) Soplica is yet another very good choice with quite similar taste profile. Both are great when taken straight out of freezer, poured on some ice and/or mixed with coffee liqueur and cream ("white russian"). Drinking shots of 95% spirit is rather something you do once or twice in your lifetime and normally you don't make that mistake anymore ;) Cheers!
What about sobeski I think its called I used to drink it polish guys said the export stuff in ireland was better than the home grade stuff I likes it and finlandia (I know its Finnish but the polish guys I knew liked it)
I think I finally figured it out. Ciara is, in fact, the avatar of Dionysus, Greek god of wine. This explains why booze has absolutely *zero* effect on her. All of these libations have been distilled directly from her essence, and so when she drinks, she's merely reabsorbing the part of herself that she's loaned to the manufacturer.
Dreamt pouring the vodka on his crotch and Ciara saying" already tried that, didn't work..." that was hilarious as Dermot had that shocked look with him laughing.🤣🤣🤣 That's our gal!
Funny story. My great grandparents on my mother's side came to the US right from Poland. Like most then they came over on a boat through NY bring everything with them, include many plants from their gardens. One plant was simply known as "Grandpa's Tea". For years they would take the leaves off the plant and make a tea for grandpa when he had too much vodka to drink to help prevent a hangover. Fast forward a few years. My mother was in school learning about "illegal drugs". After class ended my mother ran home to tell grandma and grandpa that they had a bad plant in the garden and they had to get rid of it. The plant was marijuana that they had brought with them from Poland and was only ever used as an old "hangover" remedy for Grandpa when he had drank too much vodka. Another reason to love Poland!
I thought it was opium or something lol. The best hangover cure I’ve ever experienced was a tablet of morphine from a surgery I had years ago. Obviously not really safe or wise but it did work.
It was a known plant for polish nobility, called "głupawka" which means something that makes you act or a state of acting ridiculous and laugh. It was common to give it even to little children for better sleep
Amazing grouping of the Tryers in this episode! Dermot and Ciara are amazing together, but Callyanne and Jamie are awesome as is Sean and Graine. Great episode!!!
The look that Dermot got from Ciara, when he said he has never been to mainland Europe, is the same look I get from people when I say I have never been to Mexico, having grown up in Southern California.
Best thing you ever did was not crossing the border. That's how I got myself one effed up ex-wife and a bunch of s*** head brother-in-laws. Thankfully I'm not in good health so I'm too afraid to hit on my widowed ex-sister-in-law... I'd get buried for sure. Time to move to Ireland finish my retirement there

She's a stunner who can hold her liquor- I wonder how many men have set out to get her drunk only to find themselves under the table. Might be an idea for a new video - Irish Men Try To Get Ciara Drunk.
I love how they enjoy the beers which even homeless polish people are having trouble drinking. The Karpackie 9% tastes like pure alcohol with some hop. If you want to try some really good polish beverages i'd recommend "Soplica o smaku orzecha w czekoladzie" , "Pan Tadeusz" , "Żołądkowa Gorzka miętowa" and "Ogiński". I'm looking forward to see next part.
On my wedding we had this amazing forest style table with a wooden roof. it was all covered with kielbasa and polish ham and we had amazing bimber (85 perc) and beautifull tasty alcohol 70 perc with a 4 different flavours. You guys need to meet some nice polish people and go to the polish wedding. best time ever
Dermot being pwned by the ghost of the forest and Ciara playing along to not make him feel bad is the content none of us knew we needed. The way she so obviously mirrors his movements and posture is *chef's kiss* comedy gold.
I feel that Ciara has an older brother or two that would endlessly challenge her to do things they'd find funny when she couldn't keep up. But the joke was on them because anything they could do she could do better! That's my theory.
Something about these pairings is amazing. Dermot and Ciara both waiting for a negative reaction that never happens and generally just enjoying anything in front of them. Gráinne and Seán trying to keep it intellectual. Callyann and Jamie talking each drink up. Lovely! "I've never been to mainland Europe" .. right out of the gate with that one! "it tastes like beer!" so many lagers and Pilsner tasting starts with that. "*BURP* oh Jesus I'm sorry!" obligatory burp .. thanks Gráinne! Watching Dermot and Ciara talk about the Vodka was just pure fun. WHAAAAT??? One day I'll be in under 100 for Thumbs-up, heh. Today is NOT that day. Loveliy video folks!
it's great to be a work study at school because I can randomly watch ya'll and laugh out loud. If my co workers only knew what I was watching. Thanks for making me laugh.
Ciara, I was expecting another "Ohhh, What's this font?" on the 95%. Were you having first Try shoot flashbacks when you drank the shot? It was a lot of fun to watch Ciara and Dermot together. Those 2 seem natural when it comes to fine liquors or just a great tasting drink on the palate. Great Shoot Tryers!!!!

After telling us the topic was Polish liquor they switched to you and Jamie. I was immediately struck with the idea that you remind me of every Polish woman I have ever met. Yes on Martin. No on Leather Jacket. I've said it many times before... if the channel hasn't paired them by now, they know something we don't. Admittedly I don't think she's been paired with Martin either yet, but he's been with this group a lot less time than FACTS channel alum LJG. I choose to trust them on this.
@@Michelle-1 Compare to Dermot. Off-the-channel I don't see him and Ciara being the type to hang out together. But Dermot KNOWS he's kind of a ridiculous person and plays into it. He's got a sense of humor, so the pairing on-screen is great. I'm not sure if LJG has the same level of humility to allow himself to be the butt of jokes about how much tougher/Macho Ciara is than him. :-)
This spirit is usually used as an additive to tinctures and other products. For example, it is used as an additive in cakes. We do not drink it from glasses unless there is some complete drunken pathology. However, bimber is quite popular, which is usually about 70%. It's kind of like cognac, whiskey. I assure you that after drinking a few glasses most of you would be under the table. Especially those rural products. I am not a supporter of alcohol but I like the reaction to our Wyborowa.

Another reason to love Poland!
Marijauna tea for a hangover. Well talk about health benefits
In Poland is very similiar plant but IT is not maijuana.
I thought it was opium or something lol. The best hangover cure I’ve ever experienced was a tablet of morphine from a surgery I had years ago. Obviously not really safe or wise but it did work.
@@PR_nick in some parts of Poland there is canabis sativa growing as common weed in literal meaning of its word. That could be it
It was a known plant for polish nobility, called "głupawka" which means something that makes you act or a state of acting ridiculous and laugh.
For the sake of argument, mainland Europe is not run by drug cartels.
It's run by banks.
Same here.....lol Been AT the border, but never crossed it......been to Canada tho......
@@mrgabest Somehow, that's better and worse at the same time.
Best thing you ever did was not crossing the border. That's how I got myself one effed up ex-wife and a bunch of s*** head brother-in-laws. Thankfully I'm not in good health so I'm too afraid to hit on my widowed ex-sister-in-law... I'd get buried for sure. Time to move to Ireland finish my retirement there
@@mrgabest So... basically the same thing.
Am I the only one that thinks Jamie and Callyann had in this video AMAZING chemistry?
Their humor and sweetness mix nicely. 😊
I think they both tend to bring out the best in people and pairing them off was just a brilliant idea!
That's how alcohol works.
Craicity craic craic! This gets my award for greatest craic per minute of any episode so far. Holy ho ho! I feel a bit drunk myself! All star comments by every single one of you! Thanks for the joy humor and innuendo!
Ciara is painfully beautiful, her invulnerability to everything is the cherry on top.
God really broke the mold with her, such a masterpiece!💯🔥👑 Muuaah! (chef's kiss)
I agree wholeheartedly. That’s why I call her Cyborg
Irish Wonder Woman
8:45 She tried to hide it, but she had the slightest reaction to the last one. It's not very noticeable, but it's there.
She's a stunner who can hold her liquor- I wonder how many men have set out to get her drunk only to find themselves under the table. Might be an idea for a new video - Irish Men Try To Get Ciara Drunk.
When Ciara said, with no pause, "I've tried it. It doesn't work." I WAS ROLLING!
They should try Polish mead, ciders and some of our "nalewka" liqueurs
got any good polish cider recommendations?
@@littlelogan I can recommend Cydr Lubelski. It has few different variants. My favourite is honey cider.
instant like for ciara singing in the outro.
Yes, I second this statement.
I'm looking forward to see next part.
co ty gadasz, ogiński to paździerz jest
Też zastanawiałem się, kto podrzucił im te szczyny xd
@@Znajomy_Krolika Van Pur głównie exportuje. Nawet takie marki które w Polsce są niemal niedostępne
tu bardziej chodzi o to, że my pijemy w miarę dobre piwa i przez to, jak walniemy takie mocne karpackie to smakuje nam jak gówno. i drink soplica sliwkowa and it gets me, as we say, napierdolony nad ranem
As someone from Poland, you have my stamp of approval. Good work
Jamie's right Callyann's energy is awesome and infectious.
I commented too early, clearly. Jamie's fake drunk at the end was great and Ciara's Gaelic song .. c'mon! upvotes folks!
I'm imagining Martin taking that last shot and then just sagely nodding as his only reaction before saying, "10 out of 10."
As a Pole…. It was fun to watch you guys drink our alcohols 😂 we have many more 🤣🤣 and we have amazing ciders as well
"There's people I need to apologize to"...classic
I love Grainne's reactions! She's such a pleasant and smart young woman, and when she has a response it's very believable! Sla'inte, Grainne!
Jamie and Callyann had some crazy chemistry
And so many great ideas after a few shots!!
What a treat - love it when Ciara sings because she knows all the best drinking songs! Well done!
"I have the spirit of a burp that wants to come out, but I don't trust." -> story of my life
At least it wasn't a fart. THOSE are the sneaky little bastards you can't trust!
Dermot being pwned by the ghost of the forest and Ciara playing along to not make him feel bad is the content none of us knew we needed. The way she so obviously mirrors his movements and posture is *chef's kiss* comedy gold.
All the pairings are great!! Well Done. Thanks!!
I lived in Poland for 5 years and I never get across that 95% spirit at any store. My Hat is off for you 😅🤪
because we have special shops where you can find them which called alkohole24

Ciara, I was expecting another "Ohhh, What's this font?" on the 95%. Were you having first Try shoot flashbacks when you drank the shot? It was a lot of fun to watch Ciara and Dermot together. Those 2 seem natural when it comes to fine liquors or just a great tasting drink on the palate. Great Shoot Tryers!!!!
2:38 Jamie ❤️s CallyAnn 😁 (and honestly, no one could blame him)
I absolutely love seeing Ciara and Dermot drinking together!❤
I have to say, Jamie is just always delightful. Kind of person I'd be excited to see walk in the door at a party.
Yes!! And Dermot's reaction to the shot and he looks at Ceira and says 'and this one, nothing!!' 🤣😅😁😂
"I've tried it, it doesn't work...." I died..... frigging brilliant 👏 👏
I absolutely love it when Miss Ciara sings. There's something about it that just makes me happy.
As a Polish I am proud you actually drink spiritus. I wouldn't do that I think I will already puke everywhere because of this strongest and warm hell in the throat.

After telling us the topic was Polish liquor they switched to you and Jamie. I was immediately struck with the idea that you remind me of every Polish woman I have ever met. Part of the resemblance is your blonde hair. (I just realized that I am aware of Polish women with brown hair, but my stereotype of a Polish women is a blonde.) Is your hair naturally blonde or is my subconscious just teasing me?
Loved your choice of outfit for this shoot.

Ciara and Dermot drink together, check, now we need Martin and Leather Jacket Guy to drink with Ciara.
@@Wiley_Coyote I agree, I don't even think they would get along and it would seem forced.
@@Wiley_Coyote Yep. LJG is an over-the-top ham and I don't believe she would care for that type of person.
We got Martin today!
Love from a Polish-American. Vodka in the jar-o! 🇵🇱🇺🇸
"You ever been to Poland?"
"I've literally never left this room."
You had me when you put Dermot and Ciara in the thumbnail
This spirit is usually used as an additive to tinctures and other products. For example, it is used as an additive in cakes. We do not drink it from glasses unless there is some complete drunken pathology. However, bimber is quite popular, which is usually about 70%. It's kind of like cognac, whiskey. I assure you that after drinking a few glasses most of you would be under the table. Especially those rural products. I am not a supporter of alcohol but I like the reaction to our Wyborowa.
Each of these pairings were excellent, but Callyann & Jamie were adorable!
Love the energy. Everyone was top class. I’m inspired now. Gotta go get me some polish alcohol.
just be careful you get it in the right order, bc alcohol polish might kill ya, you know ;)
In Poland we have a saying that any vodka if it’s cold is good 👍
Not Krupnik or most cheap wedding vodkas. But in general - F Krupnik.
Vodka ALWAYS has to be straight out of the freezer
I like my Zubrowka room temp... brings out the flavors... 🤣
Poland absolutely loves you guys!
ALWAYS put Jamie and Callyann together! Who would've thought they'll become my favorite pair of this channel!
Edit: Hahahahahhaa that reaction @8:40 had me rolling!
Once again, Ciara proves herself to be an extreme alcohol goddess. Not even a hint of discomfort after the 190 proof spirit.
🤜💥🤛💪
Lol put down a crash pad because Ciara tackles people while drunk.
Dermot knows the risks.
"I've got a burp wanting to get out, that I don't trust"

Yeah it's kind of like the fart that wants to come out you don't trust and next thing you know it's a shart 🤣🤣

As a polish person I just want to say you don't need to drink our strongest stuff for us to love you, we love you anyway because you guys seems fun to talk to but you drinking our strongest stuff and not falling to bits makes us respect the hell out of you. We use spirytus to add to other drinks we rarely drink it straight and you guys drank it straight so we definitely respect for that, because only our uncles and grandfathers who remember the cold war drink it straight.
I am so grateful for everything you guys post. So good to see Grainne...
As much as this channel trys strong and unusual alcohols it would be interesting to see a world cup of the strongest alcohols. A battle of the boozes. Which country has the strongest? The most flavorful? The most fume-y? And can our brave tryers cope? Could be spread over a mini series with a grand finale at the end.
The most you can get with distilling is 96%. Poland has plenty 96% bottles, the one they happened to have was 95%
I'm Polish. I've never seen anyone drink 95° alcohol without a Coke afterwards. Congratulations!
