For the issue stated at 1:13 i'm pretty sure it could be fixed by tying an invisible rope between the two player characters and making them have the minimum length of the logs length and also a max of maybe 3-4 studs longer, then make the log be in the middle of said rope, so it would be just a visual. But i'm not experienced in rope mechanics cause i never tried them out but i think it could work.
To fix the log I think maybe making the log get attached to 2 wires (from each side) that are connected to the player, every player will have their own movement.
