Another rousing fighting match of Combo Montage: The Video Game
I won't lie, but I enjoy watching SSB64 more than any SSB games.
as an extreme melee fanboy, something about this game is super satisfying to watch
For me it's the sound effects. Whenever someone lands a hit it's epic
This is also one of my favorite games to watch. I love the combos and sound effects. They're so great
i watched most of the ssb64 from ssc, and i thought exactly the same lol
Black Wolfie 64 proves that smash games don't need things added to them to make them better. No airdodge/spotdodge, Only 5 or 6 viable characters, one legal stage. Still a great game 👍
Watching this reminded me of how upset I still am that they nerfed Kirby so bad after 64 that he never recovered...T^T
He never will be the same as 64 unless they buffed things about Kirby that have stayed constant over every game, like his shitty air mobility. They're never giving something as disjointed as his U-Tilt back ever again.
*Cough* *Cough* Jigglypuff Back Aerial in Melee, Snake's Up Tilt in Brawl, Corrin F-Smash in Tr4sh.
But yeah, they will never beat Kirby's Up Tilt in terms of usefulness, spamability/unpunishability and versatility, not even Puff's Bair.
Is smash 64 the most balanced smash game?
it's pretty balanced for the most part, but most Smash 4 players would think differently
Smash 4 players thinking otherwise are neither entirely wrong nor entirely right.
I think Smash 64 as a whole is more balanced, but the bottom characters can REALLY suffer. However, Smash 4 takes the rock-paper-scissors matchup chart between 64's Pikachu, Kirby, and Falcon, and expands it to some extent across all characters on the roster, or at least a vast majority of them. It's what makes Smash 4 unique: the game is less about placement on tier lists as in other games, and more about the individual matchups and how they play out. (technically you could argue that's how Brawl is, but that's only because the tier list only directly applies when facing Meta Knight, since that entire list revolved around him (and slightly Ice Climbers))
if you play kirby yoshi or pickachu sure. the other characters tho... gl.
Between both versions, japanese and american... yeah, it's the most balanced game, only suffering with luigi and dk in both versions. Link, Samus and Ness perform noticeably better in J version.
brawl is actually pretty balanced without metaknight, every character has a losing matchup including icies.
