I had kinda different images of old nami and robin... its all bcs the aging effect of few female characters in one piece like tsuru, shinobu, mother carmel, big mom(i mean why not) etc.
It's based on (up to Robin) Oda's drawings of what everyone would look like in a "good timeline" at both ages 40 and 60. But he also did the same ages in a "bad timeline". My favorite was how 60 year old "Good Timeline" Sanji resembled Zeff while 60 year old "Bad Timeline" Sanji resembled Judge.
Yeah in most fanarts where characters are aged up sometimes the age up is too exaggerated to the point where it looks cringy I'm not saying it's all fanart only a few and there are some that are actually pretty amazing

Ageism and youth-obsessed culture make many people think that people in their 30s and 40s look a lot older and uglier than they actually do, whereas many in that range look young and attractive because they are young. People age better nowadays so it's a "rising tides lift all boats" situation where people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s also look better than they used to.

That was a gag in "Film Z" where one of the villains Devil Fruit was to deage things 12 years. She got Chopper, Nami and Robin and it was noticeable (less so with Robin, making her 18, but even still). She also got Brook, who at 78 looked exactly the same.
Nami and Robin are freakin immortal, they look the same even when they are old. Luffy looks alot like Shanks so I strongly approve there. Brook no surprise since he is a skeleton. Everyone else looks amazing when they are older.
Fyi all these old age shp drawings are drawn by Oda himself before on SBS. So we can safely say that indeed those are what they will look like on the future.
I turned 40 last week, so the algorythm is working! I started watching OP 20 years ago around the end of Alabasta. Let me say it really is an adventure following Luffy and co all these years!
Robin seems to get younger as she ages. Pre-timeskip Robin looked a bit older than 28, while post-timeskip Robin looks younger than 30. Not to mention that women in their late 20's/early 30's probably aren't increasing cup sizes every so often.
Why I feel like, when Oda was drawing older Franky he just copy pasted his older brother(I don't remember his name, but I remember that he is director of Galiley La)

The artist obviously decided to go with the "things going totally right" versions, instead of the "going down the wrong path, and NOT aging gracefully" versions Oda drew alongside them. I am happy they included all of the Straw Hats, including Jinbei, and their (temporary?) ally captains Kid and Law. Law is sexy at any age, but I am speaking with a bit of bias since Law is one of my favorite characters. Happy 1000 episodes to the anime, even if the manga made it to the 1000 milestone first in early 2021.
It is so hard to see Luffy turning into a copy of his grandfather decades later, to be honest, And adult Chopper (though he is 17 now) looks like his Long Horn form he got after time skip. 50 years old Nico looks same.
This is the best age up I’ve seen, for sure. A lot of artists make ‘em look too old and washed up when they’re in their 60s or even younger, and, this is One Piece, guys. They are not gonna let themselves go. Rayleigh is literally 78 years old and looks the way he does, same with Shakky, who’s 64. I’m expecting the Strawhats to be lookin’ fine for a while 😂
Zoro looks so much like Dark King Rayleigh. And Luffy looks like Roger damn what a fantastic design. The female character don't really look that different but male characters just look fantastic aging like a fine wine .

I feel like he could’ve made a joke with Chopper as well, showing those deer head decorations some people have in their house for the 60 year lmao
