That’s why many of us work overseas to save and generate more money and help our family then ended up moving back to the Pinas for this reason… more fun in the Philippines
I had fun last time I was there… but certain areas I find it a little more expensive… some items when we were in the mall, even more expensive.. street food yah still good.. if you shop in Lazada which my relatives did for me .. way cheaper ..
Got a place private gated subdivision with armed guards at entrance and roving. On a hill top area with views of the city and ocean. W/ Subdivision pool, church, rec center, weight room, multipurpose room, tennis court, basketball court, kids play ground, kids pool, small store and green spaces. House is a 2 story 3 bed room 2 bath. On a small lot. For around 50-54k usd.
Love it here, my phone in the US last April at AT&T for a month $85, here less than $6, 2 of us at a Korean restaurant in Glendale CA $140, here less than $11 per person at my favorite jaunt.
Most of this was spot on, except gas prices. In my experience, gas is more expensive in the Philippines. I also love that when you go to a movie in the Philippines, you can take in whatever food from wherever you want. You can pack your dinner to go and take it to the theater with you
New York and California are huge difference from the rest of the United States so that's not saying anything. Go to Cebu To the Amara subdivision Where they have 400 and $500,000 homes
Local food is cheaper but Western food is expensive. Imported foods & items are double or triple the price. Simple illness is cheap but major surgery will cost you over a million pesos. If you're a senior & have multiple health issues, it will be expensive. Then there's a horrible traffic, hot weather, government red tapes, trash everywhere, beggars all over, typhoons, flood & more. So many cons than pros.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You make some great points about the challenges, especially with healthcare and costs. It’s definitely a mix of pros and cons. Appreciate you stopping by and adding your perspective!
You cannot buy land in philippines😅 foreigners are prohibited, unless you get married to a filipina or filipino but the name of the land must be in the name of your partner filo. But you will be lucky if your partner already owns a land and a house. Only spending with ur kids and etc. but if you want to live in PH just buy a condo, foreigners can own a condo in the city. But in provinces😂 nada, boring, peaceful yet affordable.😅 better stay in your country, dont make any stupid moves😂 stay put😂
i want to invest here in philippines and hire some of my close trustworthy friend that i know that i already have a previous business and live in spain or italy my dream country
living and earning a lot in other counrty is good and retire here in philippines u can have a good house and bussiness i wish i can earn money here in japan so i can retire good if i go back to my homeland philippines
major flaw with this analysis is that its not an apples to apples comparison. The housing is lower quality in the philipines the same foods cost about the same in many cases, and the movies are not the same.
Not true. I'm a Filipino who used to live in California and I still find way cheaper in the Philippines... If you're connected with the locals you'll get to know places that are cheaper..not the one catered for expats where they bumped the price...
Live the good life for less-consider the Philippines?
Yup! Pretty soon ..I'll be there again Philippines!
as filipino i agree with all your statement

It is cheap for a reason.

Work overseas to earn money and then retire in the Philippines...or invest in the Philippines....

My 2 cents worth. We cannot compare a 1st world country with a developing country. Obviously in developed countries, cost and salary and tax are high.
So many of these prices are more than stated. While cheaper, it is not as cheap as shown.
living and earning a lot in other counrty is good and retire here in philippines u can have a good house and bussiness i wish i can earn money here in japan so i can retire good if i go back to my homeland philippines
You get what you pay for. Remember my words in a few years, or less.
i want to work in america earn money and retire here in philippines with investment and house land lot
All my friends n the Philippines are leaving because its gotten bad. And nothing they tell me was included in this video. Wonder why....
major flaw with this analysis is that its not an apples to apples comparison. The housing is lower quality in the philipines the same foods cost about the same in many cases, and the movies are not the same.
Not true..... I'm a American living in the Philippines and the cost is way more than prices given here
