This is by far the best explanation of this board! We have the same board for our church and honestly love it but you gave a great overview and i sent this over to our sound tech for her to watch. Thanks Again
Excellent explanation Thanks!. If possible, I want to ask you how you manage to monitor (PFL) when you operate remotely with a tablet, how do you connect your headphones to monitor sound at the sound check and during the show when you use the mixer as a stage box? Thank you so much
Hi, Thank you so much for making a video. I have one question. Can we save the scene? For example, we have one mic for the pastor, and during praise and worship, I want to make the volume equal to the choir. Then, during the sermon, I would like to mute all the choir and have only the pastor's mic on with a slightly higher volume. Is there any way to do this?
Hello brother, first of all, thank you for a very thorough run down of the Soundcraft Ui24R digital mixer. I just picked up this mixer for smaller shows and to have the main unit up on stage for tight set ups. I have a question about the side panel view. Mine does not look like yours- what's up with that? Also in the mixer channel strips, what does channels 21-24 assigned to? Thank you in advance!
Excellent Video, I've had this mixer for a while now using it for my Band and running sound at different events. It's so much capabilities I haven't tapped into. It's so much I want to improve on such as setting up proper frequencies on Aux 1 powered subs. And do I really need a DBX Driverack which I use on my passive speakers with analog mixer? I will definitely be following your channel.
You don't really need a DBX DriveRack. We already had one, so I use it primarily just as a crossover, and for a little extra overload protection. But without a DriveRack PA, if you're setting up an Aux channel for a subwoofer, one good way to do it is to make the channel a "MATRIX" send; Then, you can send the MASTER mix to that Matrix send, and roll off all the high frequencies in the multiband EQ on that aux/matrix channel; run THAT aux to your powered subs, and it's sort of a custom crossover.
@@ClosetHymnologist Thank you so much for the info. By changing Aux1 to a Matrix whenever i use the RCA channel for playback music from my laptop the fader for that channel or if I use the Master fader it should control that Matrix channel's volume output which I'm using for the subs correct?
Thank you very much, While I've learnt a lot about the Mixer, I wish to understand the process to connect all channel into my OBS to live Streaming. Please help.
What's the best way to explain to volunteers how to turn up your digital signal from the Soundcraft to OBS when OBS give you the "weak signal" message?

Hello, thanks for the great presentation! In our church, we are looking for a system that would solve the problem of audibility of speakers who speak differently loudly or stand differently away from the microphone. We have quiet and loud individuals (speakers) in the church and it would be very good for everyone to be equally audible. I wonder if the UI24R has a feature to automatically gain the voice of an individual and tune to a preset level. Thank you in advance, Uroš
No mixer can do what you’re asking. Either educated your speakers to use the microphone properly and be more mindful. Or buy a podium mic with a wider polar pattern. Or use headset mics on each individual so the microphone is a set distance from the audio source (their mouths) and will stay consistent. The cheapest option is clearly to teach people how to use the microphone properly in the first place.
I have been considering a pair of these since you can cascade them to make a 40 by 16 setup without the need for an app. I already have a 24 inch touchscreen from Asus which I use with Presonus Universal control and a StudioLive 32R which in my opinion is the worst sounding digital mixer I have ever owned. The 1000 Ohm mic pres are so sterile and dark and the reverbs are terrible they sound like the trails from the inside of a piano being hit with a hammer. But the Ui24R from Soundcraft looks like the perfect setup just plug in a touchscreen and boom you are ready to go. Sadly I need 2 of them in cascade mode since we use up to 30 channels at every gig and I need more than 4 stereo in ear mixes. But my options are a pair of the UI24Rs at $988 or $1978 combined or a X32 at $2099. I just wonder how well the cascading works. I have a 56 channel Soundcraft MH-2 analog console in my studio and my band use to use a 48 channel analog Soundcraft Series 5 before we went digital. Both of those consoles have been spectacular and I have had my MH2 for over 20 years and the Series Five was donated to a church and they still use it to this day without a single issue. So I guess my question is have you had any experience with cascading 2 of these consoles together?
We just bought one of these for our church. I'm trying to figure out the best way to connect the mixer to the sound card on our pc so we can record the sound on the video. Our camera doesn't have a dedicated mic, and we need to pull off the mixer. I'm thinking of dedicating an aux channel as video feed. Do you think an xlr - 3.5mm adapter will achieve this ?
I realize this is an old post so you probably have a solution by now but... An Aux out from the UI24 should be run into a USB audio interface like a Behringer U-Phoria UM2. Then just tell your computer to use that for the livestream sound.
Just curious. VCA is an analog mixer term, meaning Voltage Controlled Amplifier. In digital desks, they typically refer to them as DCAs, or Digitally Controlled Amplifier. They both do the same thing, I was just wondering why they use "VCA" in a digital mixer?
I know this was the intention of this video, but how long have you been using the ui24r? I’m curious to know if any issues have arose over time due to wear. Has it been reliable week after week? Thanks for the great info in the video :)
Hey man, loved your video. Thinking of purchasing one of these but I've seen people say over time they have issues with feedback. Have you had and such issues?
I own two Ui24R with wedges and LD Maui 11g as Monitors and there ist no problem with feedback, until you really provoke it. For example, cover the microphone with your hand and hold it in the direction of the monitor / PA.
Thanks. I had some connection drops from the mixer in the back room to the back of the sanctuary, about 90 ft away. But then I added a simple WiFi extender on a 10ft cable so that I could get the antenna to a place with line of sight to the whole room. I’ve had no problems since.
I had the ui16 since like 2017-2018, I used to have connectivity problems at first but I eventually bought a external router and ever since it worked pretty darn well.

There is an “auto mix” feature on the Ui24R but I haven’t used it myself. Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/ShwXL6JZf00/w-d-xo.html

THE saved presets on ui24r are not loading. Any suggestions?

Hello ! How can you send fx to aux ?
Thanks for your answer
is it possible to do virtual sound check from usb? I mean to record multi track on usb stick and then mix it without the band without a mac DAW?
How to save the mixing? I mean like save and recall the whole setting like on the other mixer.
Thanks!

@@pcpanikMusik thanks for the reply man. Just ordered mine 🙏🏽
@@djshazzy6405 Great choice. It‘s a very good mixer.
Thanks for the video. How far does that wifi signal extend?

Could you restrict the app for musician so that a musician is only allowed to edit his monitor mix but not the FOH / another musicians AUX mix?
I have one. It s great
How can I set it up with 3 monitors
Hi
How can I add sound effects to the voice?
Thanks
Thank you!
You're very welcome!
How reliable are these mixers? I’ve heard terrible stories. Many people talking about problems with them.

👏👏👏
Can I get lock screen passcode please? Thanks
Why is it 24 when it only has 20 inputs plus phono?
20 + 2 RCA + 2 USB playback = 24
