Of course another awesome video. I do see a few ironies with closing KMarts The hiring signs. TO work just a few weeks before being laid off? The Christmas music playing as employees try to keep their spirits up with this being their last holiday season. Thank you Eddie Lampart for ruining the holidays for thousands. Glad you got the Music and Video sign and other goodies from your buddy. Also a great print would be of you standing in front of the KMart holding up their awesome vintage print of when it opened in 1964. Ha it's even older than me!!!!! You are a special gift Wallie with your video art and real fun perspective on life.
Too bad so sad. Will definitely miss this store chain. When my parents immigrated to the US, Kmart came to the rescue with their layaway plans. That's all they could afford. You came through, Kmart. We'll miss you.
I used to shop at the Bridgeville PA K-mart every week as we sold at Trader Jack's Flea Market and I would shop at the Giant Eagle as well. I miss Giant Eagle a lot.
Love the classic looking Kmart facade. Sad to see childhood experiences go down. I loved me a burger and fries from the classic cafeteria. The brownish looking cafes, not the "Newer ones". Chicago area, well Illinois for that matter will have only 2 left and 8 Sears stores. Did anyone read that Eddie fartfurt is putting in a bid to buy Sears holdings. If the judge is sane, he wouldn't allow it. Eddie killed the stores. He doesn't care now, what makes a person think that he will care when he owns them.
Mall aholic This makes me sad still watching this because remember I told you my stepmom worked at Kmart she worked at this exact location is my childhood Kmart newkensington Pennsylvania, currently it’s demolished and aldi is moving from lower burrel to newkensington, and giant eagle is next door to this normally during my childhood I would go to either Kmart or giant eagle next door. This Kmart did pretty well I don’t know what happened with stupid Eddie.
Only 9 Kmarts in this area..Wow. I thought there were MORE. When I was a kid (1960's-70's) most of everything I've had came from Murphy's or KMart. LOL!
I hate seeing Kmart go out of business. Eddie Lampert totally screwed the pooch and put many people out of work and I don't get why they keep the damn shopping carts.
The vintage photo of the store opening is cool! Kmart was your "go to" place when I was growing up. You always saw someone you knew while shopping at Kmart. Now they are disappearing right and left but fortunately, the Kmart in my home town seems like it will be around for while as least for now. The parking lot is only minimally occupied, though, even during the holiday season.
Thanks for this video. This was my store and I really miss it. I grew up right up the hill from here and I even remember being there on opening day with my mom. This was our store and we spent lots of happy hours shopping here and eating in the cafeteria. Now I drive past it every day and it still really irks me that it’s closed.
Dang, that was more depressing to watch than I originally thought it would be. You always think "that's not going to happen to MY store" until it does...
Congrats on purchasing a print of the store's 1964 grand opening day, nice find. The store looks the same except it has more windows along the front, also like the old time cars in the parking lot too :)
Since the company is obviously going to fail why don't they just close all of the stores at once and call it a day? ( I got some good deals at the North Versailles Kmart last week!)
I dunno what Eddie’s endgame is but him and another hedge fund are going to put in a bid to buy 504 of the stores to keep them open in about two weeks. If the court accepts it I expect this slow process liquidation to continue.
Dusk Raccoon it’s like their beating an already dead horse and we the former customers have moved on in America from Kmart and Sears. Eddie Lampert is losing a lost cause and I don’t think Sears and Kmart will come back. Eddie Lampert is just a total dumbass.
This store has the same exact layout as the former Corunna Michigan and South Cedar location in Lansing MI. Both stores also rocked that early 90's Kmart signage this one in the video has. There was a very small Kmart in Flint that had the original vintage signage and was an extremely busy store and somehow survived a round of store closings even though it was on the list of stores but held on for another three by some miracle.
We still have a Kmart in Holyoke, MA and there is another in Palmer, MA, though I've never been to that location. There used to be one in the Springfield Plaza on the border between Chicopee and Springfield but, that appears to have closed down. I have a lot of memories from when I was a kid from the mid-90s to the mid-2000s of the one in Holyoke which is still open. They used to have a restaurant attached to the store where you could go to have breakfast in the morning which was very nice but that part of the store as long since closed and is now used for storage or something. I recently went back a few months ago for the first time since the mid-2000s and it still looks very similar though there are some differences, mainly in products being sold, obviously. It's kind of like a time capsule back to the mid-90s to the mid-2000s because there haven't been any updates to the cash registers and refrigerators in the food section since then.
It looks like the Kmart store in my state here in good California. We lost are main store back in the 1990s and the one for my city and neighboring city is closing now this year.
They have a stack behind the customer service desk with a sign next to them saying they're $12. Just have to ask an employee at the service desk for one when you walk in.
Hi new subscriber hear So sad to see these kmarts and Sears closing all my local kmarts closed up a few years ago in Panama city florida and now that hurricane Michael hit 2 months ago ours Sears closed too without a liquidation sale 😟
one of my uncles doesnt live to far from there. my uncle is in tarentum, pa just a few miles down the road from there. sadly there wont be any kmart stores around. oh sure there are a few sears stores around but what they will be selling is anyones guess. i know for sure they wont be selling electronics and craftsman tools are made by stanley now and they did drop one appliance brand sadly. lots of people had memories of the old sears stores having video games and that was the first thing they dropped and then the electronics sadly.
They're not closing 200, it's "approximately" 200, because the first round was 142, the second round was exactly 40, that's 182, not too (those 18 stores really can make a difference).
Very Sad. Now this might seem like a stupid question. Being from the UK, are Kmarts department stores in a supermarket format? Do they sell food like Asda/Walmart? Love all your vids . Thank you.
They had Kmart Super Centers which basically had a full grocery store inside but they're now gone and just a typical department store with very little grocery compared to years past.
Didn't you see him in the glass reflection, he was just holding it. No need to conceal anything. Watch it again. Nobody suspects anyone just holding their phone and walking.
I would to know how you disguise your camera phone when you on these Kmart/Sears locations that are severely liquidated and you think you would encounter more security escorting you out? However you are right about the now former head of Sears Holdings Corporation, R.I.P. Botched merger: 2005-2019
That's how my k cafe looks now to but they still have the fans. I wish you the very last Christmas I wish you the very last Christmas I wish you the very last Christmas and the last ever happy new year. For the very very very very last time at Kmart marry Christmas and happy new year with out Kmart around next year.😞
The Kmart in Central Los Angeles went from 40% at the beginning to 95% in the last weeks. Levi's and designer jeans going for a dollar. You just have to wait for worthwhile discounts or you'll be made a fool.
Kmart was throwing out frozen pizzas past their expiration date rather than make them 50% off months before the expiration date. They deserve bankruptcy
Feel badly for the employees but the company was it's own worst enemy. Didn't invest a dime in infrastructure in 30+ years. Also comical that Eddie Lampert is trying to sell fixtures that predate Three Mile Island AND sell posters of what the store used to look like for $12.
The sad thing about Kmart is they put all the mom and pops out of business and hurt them really bad and now Kmart is hurting people again by putting them on the unemployment so thanks again Kmart I'm guessing all the big shots pocket a lot of money so that will the little guys suffer
KMart (and Sears) employees were vastly superior to whatever "customer service" you get (IF you CAN get any "service"..) at Wally World. I will go out of my way to patronize a store where I've been treated well. I prefer to buy at a "brick and mortar" store, But if I can't have a good experience at a store, I'll shop online. (Although this violates my NEED for instant gratification!). Some places "get it", For example "Best Buy" stepped up their game recently - I go there often now. (a few years ago,not so much),"Petco" and "Staples" also provide decent service (to me). KMart (For a discount store) was a pleasant experience, Sears, would bend over backwards for the customer. (Over compensated me several times on Craftsman tools that I broke through MY incompetence!). Today people want JUST LOW PRICE and NOTHING more.... Well I guess you don't need humans to achive THAT. Really miss the Cafeterias at KMart - Having a coffee and a smoke while Mum shopped, Miss the 1970's!
This was my childhood Kmart :( if it weren’t for Eddie this Kmart would Still be open and Aldi wouldn’t be here as this was one of the most performing ones I been to.
So what? Stores always sucked anyway. Products were shit, employees were shit, locations were shit and you just have to get rid of shit. The same people that want to hang on to the shit are the same idiots who resist change and progress.
@6:52 , great selfie with the ‘Thank You For Shopping Big K’ sign! 😀
Because it was a big Kmart from 1990s till the early 2010s then they took it out this was my childhood Kmart and the one my stepmom worked at :(.
Sad this is my local store. It’s been open for as long as I can remember
I can cry watching this is there still a Kmart near u
Sad to see it go, good video
Wow man. That kmart pic at the end sorta made me wanna cry.
Much love from New Brunswick Canada!
Of course another awesome video. I do see a few ironies with closing KMarts

The Kmart in Allegheny Twp. is still open. Over only about 10 miles away.
*Always the now hiring signs in front of these closing stores. Sad to see.*
These stores look sorta comfy, sad to see them go. Also, what song is that at the end?
This store is a very comfy store. Tired... but comfy. The song at the end is Waterfront Dining - A Tall Glass.
@@WallieB26 thanks dude, i really enjoy your content. Keep it up!
There's definitely something comfortable about these old stores..I guess something new generations will not understand.
Pittsburgh is getting hit hard with the Sears Holdings closures. 😔
Wow that store front changed a lot since 1964, looks like a late 1970s upgrade then another upgrade later on, an awesome video as always. :)
Too bad so sad. Will definitely miss this store chain. When my parents immigrated to the US, Kmart came to the rescue with their layaway plans. That's all they could afford. You came through, Kmart. We'll miss you.
I watched our K Mart close, little by little. Was a sad time for a small town.
That giant snowman is so cool
I used to shop at the Bridgeville PA K-mart every week as we sold at Trader Jack's Flea Market and I would shop at the Giant Eagle as well. I miss Giant Eagle a lot.
Great photo Wallie! I miss my Warren, Ohio Super Kmart during this Holiday Season it's the first one since closing in April
Love the classic looking Kmart facade. Sad to see childhood experiences go down. I loved me a burger and fries from the classic cafeteria. The brownish looking cafes, not the "Newer ones". Mall Aholic At this point, he just sees them as his personal piggy banks, gutting them part and parcel and lining his pockets with the proceeds.
This was my childhood sears especially it was one of the first 100 Kmarts to open it was the 54th to open in the chain.
Only 9 Kmarts in this area..Wow. I thought there were MORE. When I was a kid (1960's-70's) most of everything I've had came from Murphy's or KMart. LOL!

Since my Butler Kmart closed, this one has been my go-to!! I’m so sad...
I wish we could rescue this store. :( and other ones too. :o
Update for you Wallie the grandmother who works new Kensington Kmart got a farewell speech. You saw on kdka tv.
My aunt worked at kmart in New Kensington for 30 years I miss kmart I used to shop there all the time the one in New Kensington thanks for the video
There are a few bare spots, but for the most part it still seems to be well stocked.
Like for K Mart
Wow, only going to be 1 left in Pittsburgh. Amazingly there's still going to be 5 Kmarts staying open within 20 miles of me around Akron/Canton
Jim E write the addresses please so I can go to them?

WAIT! "No Half-Dead Skeleton" In The Snow!, Step it up, New Ken!
I visited this Kmart today. Nice to see what it looked like inside
The Kmart in New Castle is still open (for now).
Dang, that was more depressing to watch than I originally thought it would be. You always think "that's not going to happen to MY store" until it does...

Just went by this store today heading into the city, and it was about 1/2 demolished.

I work for Kmart in Puerto Rico. San Germán we are closing .the store closes January 31 ,2019.Estoy triste me quedo sin trabajo después de 21 años.
Where exactly did you find that awesome picture? Did you have to ask for one to buy or was there a stack somewhere for you to take one
They have a stack behind the customer service desk with a sign next to them saying they're $12. Just have to ask an employee at the service desk for one when you walk in.
WallieB26 thanks!!
Hi new subscriber hear So sad to see these kmarts and Sears closing all my local kmarts closed up a few years ago in Panama city florida and now that hurricane Michael hit 2 months ago ours Sears closed too without a liquidation sale 😟
Aww I want a copy too!
I wonder if you could still shop kmart online?
chris johnson I’m sure you can.
one of my uncles doesnt live to far from there. my uncle is in tarentum, pa just a few miles down the road from there. sadly there wont be any kmart stores around. oh sure there are a few sears stores around but what they will be selling is anyones guess. i know for sure they wont be selling electronics and craftsman tools are made by stanley now and they did drop one appliance brand sadly. lots of people had memories of the old sears stores having video games and that was the first thing they dropped and then the electronics sadly.
You should get that picture framed
I lamented the closing of Ames Montgomery ward gottschalks and bradlees but am glad to see kmart. Close.
Great video wallie 👍❤️💕💕
Minor suggestion: Find a way to attach your phone to a CART, to really get a "Shopper's view", LOL.
They're not closing 200, it's "approximately" 200, because the first round was 142, the second round was exactly 40, that's 182, not too (those 18 stores really can make a difference).
I got a kmart shopping cart sign i wanted a kmart sign but the people work their took them already
Last full Super Kmart was in Ohio and closed earlier this year.
Wallie, how do you conceal your camera/phone when filming in the main part of the store? Great video. Keep up the good work.
Some stores don't even seem to care
I was able to get a bit of footage of my Sears yesterday
Had my phone in plain view too, no issues
It's a secret. 😉
I would love to tell but I would give it away and it could make it harder for me to film in the future.
I take photo sets as opposed to videos no one has ever questioned a thing and it’s probably more obvious I’m doing it than filming would be
Didn't you see him in the glass reflection, he was just holding it. No need to conceal anything. Watch it again. Nobody suspects anyone just holding their phone and walking.
Whenever I go to places like this I don't hide it. They don't seem to care. Just stay out of people's way and you should be fine.
there's a leechburg pa KMART too :()
Save the kmarts. :(
I subscribed to you. Nice video!
Where were you the day kmart closed
Wallie what happened to your live chat and I love all your videos
favorite is Ames and Hill's
I would to know how you disguise your camera phone when you on these Kmart/Sears locations that are severely liquidated and you think you would encounter more security escorting you out? However you are right about the now former head of Sears Holdings Corporation, R.I.P.

Let me back up. Lmaooooo 🤣❤️
So sad😂 nice video
Sad there going
Luckily my Kmart for now isn’t closing
Sad sight to see
Good bye kmart
That's how my k cafe looks now to but they still have the fans. I wish you the very last Christmas I wish you the very last Christmas I wish you the very last Christmas and the last ever happy new year. For the very very very very last time at Kmart marry Christmas and happy new year with out Kmart around next year.😞
25% is not a bankruptcy level discount. Needs to be 75% or why bother to buy? So much stock and nobody buying.
It’s cheaper to buy at a non closing Sears or Kmart with the sales and the SYW points.
The Kmart in Central Los Angeles went from 40% at the beginning to 95% in the last weeks. Levi's and designer jeans going for a dollar. You just have to wait for worthwhile discounts or you'll be made a fool.
I’ve still got oil filters I bought for $.09 during the original bankruptcy closures
Kmart was throwing out frozen pizzas past their expiration date rather than make them 50% off months before the expiration date. They deserve bankruptcy
F'N 1ST GODDAMN IT !!!!!# 🆒 WALLIE!!

can you take video of the blockbuster 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
