That is easily my favorite pop off in smash 4 because of the emotion behind it, the fact that it's Esam ending the war, the stare at the crowd after, and of course the amazing camera man making it look just like it's an actual movie. Literally replayed it for 3 minutes straight after it happened live.

That's what I'm saying. Upsets are always hype, and it's not like they're so common in Smash 4 that literally anyone can pull one out. Zero's placing this weekend was absolutely unprecedented, and no one who follows Smash 4 would have ever seen it coming. FWIW I like watching and playing both games. I appreciate Melee for its high skill ceiling and fluid movement, but I also appreciate Smash 4 for its larger variety of characters and the fact that I don't have to murder my hands to feel like I'm kind of competent at it. It really bugs me to see people being so negative and salty about either game.
of course melee is more consistent. people forget that the game is old and the meta is barely evolving anymore. Smash 4 is young compared to it and the meta has a lot of room for improvement.
NinjaX SSB Since Smash Con, Fatality has only gotten way better. You can see in his play that he isn't as flashy anymore, and makes better decisions. It is possible to do it again, he did at the most stacked sm4sh major ever

Can we talk about Locus's wins so far? He's beaten, Saj, 9B, Tweek, Mr R, Ally, Samsora, Shuton AND Nairo. I know a lot of people have been doubting that he deserved his spot in the PGR last season, but he's really proven himself. And I think he was also in top 32 at one of the other sagas other than ZeRo saga and Civil war, not sure who he beat there.

Best Link was contested between him and Scizor, with T taking sets regularly off of top Japanese players, like Aba, Ramai, Some, Pichi, Umeki, etc. But scizor plays just as good. After civil war, though, T is undoubtably the best Link, atm.

Maybe we can put that on the nerves. On the other hand, dabuz had like, 1 or 2 mu that were close. MVD and Zack. Both could have pulled off an upset, and Zack almost did, but they didn't. So gg to dabuz for that. I am not saying dabuz is not consistent, I'm not saying he's bad. But I do think he could have had a harder bracket. Dabuz is and will always be a god of smash 4, I am not denying that.

The most hype aspect of this Tournament was not just that so many Low/Mid-tier mains made it into Top 32 and even Top 8, but that they absolutely MURKED so many high ranking PGR players! I was so stoked watching this Tournament! I do have to say, even though I respect how hard Dabuz worked toward winning, I'm sad Fatality lost to him, considering he beat so many top threats, including Nairo, Kirihara, so many in bracket, and even T, who defeated him in Winners, went on to 3-0 him in Losers Finals!! I really hope Fatality keeps up this amazing hard work, I would love to see him win a large event like this!

I've always thought Link was underrated, he's slow but makes up for it with huge zoning, option coverage, combos, range, kill power, and nice weight to boot. He'd actually be broken if they made him faster. Also starting to think Zer0 isn't as good as people give him credit for, he just earned the reputation using Diddy when he was OP, and Diddy's still top tier after some nerfs.
