It gets me out of my head and into my intuition, inner world where I meet with Trinity. I’ve hung out with God on planet Mars, beam of light, Morraccan desert, rivers, nature, on my patio for am tea or coffee.
Hi John, thanks for your vulnerability. I just led our congregation this morning through a guided imaginative prayer time - is there a local church body that would be open to doing imaginative prayer corporately? I would encourage you to go to Brad Jersak's website. He has some great resources to help people walk through the practice.
I don’t know if this will be helpful but I hope so. Maybe you should try focusing on your other senses besides vision. See if you can feel (physically or emotionally) hear, or smell what you are trying to visualize. I was lucky to spend some time with some Tibetan Buddhist teachers that taught many visualization practices. I’m a Christian now but I still use those techniques . They just come kind of naturally now but they surely didn’t at first. Everyone struggled with it some in the beginning but I do remember them frequently telling me to just start small. I could pick just one little detail of the image or scene I was trying to visualize, even just a color, and focus on that until it was more stable, then expand that to include more and more detail. You will get better with practice. I never mastered visualization but my ability to do so definitely improved greatly over time. I’m sure if you stick with it you will too. Take care!
I want to meet with God in my own heart and then meet with God in Their heart. Me in Their heart felt a bit like my ketamine trip. No matter where we meet, the result is peace, joy, belonging, secure attachment.
What do you think of this story and the role of imagination in experiencing God?
It's incredible! Thanks! Brad, and Paul are wonderful!
@@brotherjoeradosti Powerful stuff. It can be a great tool for exploring ourselves as well.

There is a thing called Inner Family Systems that describes her inner family system and how to heal our parts.
Wow,this is so beautiful.
I'm glad to hear this was impactful to you.
Paul & Brad, we have met in the southeast, but I wish I could have this type of experience in meeting Him in my heart. I have no visualizing ability.
