Stephanie describing Philip making a beeline for brocante treasures "And he's off like a ferret up a drain pipe" 😂😂😂 Stéphanie, you really crack me up !
Europe has so many antique shops with beautiful things. My hear starts to beat faster when you enter the store so I can just imagine how you and Philip feel. Can't wipe the smile off of his face lol
The dog in the painting is a phalene, the Royal breed of Louis XIV of France, the sun king. He loved them so much that he declared that all phalenes born in France were his and it was for him to decide who would be the masters of the new puppies...Louis XV had them and Marie-Antoinette had one that followed the Queen to her last prison on Ile de la cite and sat outside her window until it's demise, never realizing that she had died, much like all the dogs around the world that sit by their masters grave.
I had so much fun looking at the Murano chandeliers in the first shop you visited. My husband watches sports while i watch your vlog on my computer with headphones. When you first walked into the shop I actually shouted out "BUY IT!" And, then I saw chandelier after chandelier and thought "If I only had one I could afford I absolutely couldn't make up my mind. Each is more beautiful than the next." Nick's wife is so charming and if I remember correctly you mentioned that she is brilliant and has a high level job. Would you be able to do an interview with her some day if she would be comfortable? Yet another city to explore-Istanbul, now Brussels.
Lovely to see the beautiful Marie & tag along with you to all the shops in Brussels. Loved the 💗Pink Limoge dish set, but €650 is a bit dear for me😳. Like Philip, I adore dishes. He's blessed to have found Stephanie❣️ They suit each other so well. ⚜️Château LaLande gives him a canvas to showcase his passion for fine things & entertaining too🥂. The first time I went to Australia🇦🇺 on holiday, I was shocked😵 at the high cost of antiques as well as used books📚. It convinced me that vintage was more my speed. 😬My nostalgia for mass produced items of the 20th Century might be a reflection of my lowly birth, but I make no apologies for my sentimentality. I'd happily take the 🤎brown & white🤍 toile dish sets they used to give away at the grocery store w/purchase during my childhood. They'd be pretty on a 🍂Fall table. Let alone ❤cranberry & white🤍 toile that you can find at the local superstore nowadays. They would be special on a Christmas🎄table. 🔨Actually, I'd rather hang up porcelain toile plates & platters to enjoy as art 🖼. 🍽More of a minimalist when it comes to pattern for my actual plates & bowls. 🤫Let the food be the 👁👁focus. Serving pieces & linens can have more ✨️personality✨️. 🤔Hmm. Are we going to see Kat & Dan in London? Michael Petherick? Oliver? Selmar? Pavlina? What's the old saying? Curiosity killed the cat🙀, but satisfaction brought it back😺. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Philip, I purchased a wonderful little carved cork fantasy scene a few years ago. Everyone one who sees, it loves it. They're just so intricate and delicate. The Murano chandeliers are wonderful. Poor Marie. She was wise to escape early. Wise choice on the cache pot. It wasn't amazing and was too expensive. The poodle painting should have been €15. I didn't realize the Europeans were into uranium glass too. It was popular here in the US. It is a lovely shade of green. The Cristal d'Arc is a great buy. Years ago I purchased loads of it at Target. It was pretty reasonable and practical for crystal of that quality. Wise buy. The pink Limoges porcelain was a good sized set, but it wasn't amazing. Too high for Evesham. I've collected the pattern for 30 years. You were wise to pass. You understate what an absolute monster Leopold was. Great day out in Brussels. ❤ from TX!
I’m really into to using smaller wine glasses these days and love the antique glasses just because of how they look and the fact you end up with a smaller amount of wine. If you’re pacing yourself, you can always refill.
I love Brussels. I was in chandelier heaven and the market was incredible. I admire your will power as I could've purchased so many items. The chocolate & waffles are the best.❤🍫
Oh yumm, just love battered fish and chips. My son in law goes fishing, Monday night we had fresh caught fish (Pearl Perch and Red Throat Emperor) and squid all battered with some chips. It was super delicious. Oh I’m in Australia…
Wow, that was quite the outing! I saw so many things and once again, my taste was too expensive for my wallet. That 13 thousand green China cabinet was my most favorite, but I would like it better without the flowers. Great score on the glasses. That fish and chips looked to die for! Oh well, I will just have to settle for my spinach salad. Cheers to you all.❤
Philip could never own a bracante, he would never want to let anything go! Its lovely seeing all the beautiful things , I can understand Philip lusting over them!
I disagree. Philip is a designer. He would find places/homes for the treasures. Some one can love it as well as you! He has a great influence on people in regard to setting a gracious table or designing a room. He does and would with his own business. After a time, you can only collect so much! He would be wonderful finding things for others and sharing his love of design. Did you know he has a shop at the chateau?
Yes Stephanie, it is overwhelming. So many items! The prices are the only thing that can keep someone from buy everytthing there is in the fleemarket. ❤
I went to Bruxelles years ago but didn't know there were such amazing flea markets and antiques stores! WOW! What a fun place to treasure hunt. Plus it's always so lovely to see Marie, Nick and famille 🥰🤗😘
I love the videos of you two shopping! As I don't get to do much of that myself, it's fun to see it through your eyes and see your happiness at all the purchases you find. Please more like this! 💙
I think that the lovely Jelly Fish Chandelier would look fabulous in the beach house in So. Africa with Mummy and Percy. Not sure if they would think so but ahhhhh! ❤
So enjoying our trip to the markets today, if I went to the Antique shop I would be there for hours, the chandeliers were stunning. Bargain on the glasses. Lunch looked delicious! X Anna
Omg Stephanie and PHILLIP U SURE FEASTED UR EYES ON EXTRAVAGANT CHANDELIERS 😂 JUST TOO MUCH €€€€😮 ???the fleamarket was great but too much too much to see on even one table. Alot of WOW ITEMS. SOME FAR TOO EXPRNSIVE. I THINK U COULD GET NEGOTIATIONS OR BARTER PRICES. NEXT TIME PHILLIP CAN BRING A BACKPACK AND A LITTLE CART AND HE CAN FILL IT....HE HAS VERY EXCELLENT TASTE. IN HIS TABLE WARE SETUP DESIGNS. GLAD U LIKED MASTRICHT IN NL. I NEVER GOT TO THAT CITY OR BRAYBANDT WHERE THE BIG GOTHIC CATHEDRAL IS. I WAS IN A HUGE CATHEDRAL IN BRUSSELS. AND HOUSES IF PARLIAMENT AND SAT IN A SENATORS CHAIR 😂😊
Oh la la la la la la la la la that was some Chocolate eggs, for easter? That antiques shop looks as if it has magnificent items and I love that mirror with the swallows on the telephone wire. Thise Murano chandeliers are also quite splendid looking. I love the dolphin one
Good to see your joy visiting the market ! And also being engage is such a positive feeling (I remember mine) 😅. At the market it is difficult to resist to such beautiful things...This market is very expensive I know but it needs a visit. I wish you a good rest in London and a good return to Lalande ❤
Stephanie and Philip, your Winter of Culture keeps going from strength to strength. This was my favourite trip thus far. Nothing can be better than brocanting with Philip. I'm sure you could have indulged him a little more with that lovely crystal set. ❤❤❤ Your embrace of beauty and style really inspires me. And what is better than fresh flowers in one's room, even for a very brief stay. They enliven the whole space. Tomorrow I am off to the store for the same!!! 🤍🌻🤍🌷🤍🌻🤍
It was good Stephanie, that You stoppede Philli, when he said, he was temted to Buy that pink plateset with 140 pices 😂🤣 He is like a kid in a candy shop. I loved All those Italien Chamdalere soo beautiful. ❤❤❤
I could not believe that i was at all of those exact places when i went to visit my parents in oct! I saw the chandeliers in the shop and thought that you would love them and here you are a few months later! Amazing
The cross looking zebra reminded me of Scotman, and I hope you have time to see Kat in England. What luck that the flea market was held that w/end. Or did they know Phillip was coming? Commendably restrained purchasing. Well done.
I remember the times when Isabelle had to stop Stephanie from shopping, now Stephanie has to stop Philip. I wonder if Isabelle is relieved or twice as worried watching 😂 having access to all of these beautiful things i would need someone stopping me 😊

I love the banter between Phillip and Stephanie; they compliment each other so easily ❤

Thank you, I learned something today. Knowing this context the painting was worth the 300e!
Thank you for sharing such an interesting part of history!
Thanks a lot for this amazing explanation.
Interesting I wonder if they would have bought the painting having known the history ✨
@@gailbrandwood9134 I would have bought the painting even without knowing the history. The fun looking at this dog is worth the¨price!
I love when you shop together - not only to see the beautiful items, but your conversation is always delightful
Good to see Marie again!
Marie is so sweet, and she has such a lovely laugh! xo
It is good to see you two so happy❣Marie is such a wonderful person. 💕
This was a treat! Shopping, eating, antiques, architecture, cute Pupette, and friends.
Marie really loves her dog. She always has him wherever she goes. You can just sense Marie truly a sincere and genuine person.
The shopping trip was hilarious. It reminds me of my outings with my husband and hearing him say “step away from the crystal”.
Heehee....when the clock chimed Stephanie said everyone was humming Figaro....I was humming Three Blind Mice 🙃
Me, too!

"70's cheese and pineapple on sticks" made me giggle!
🎉thank you for taking us with you❤
Thank you for including us in the trip ❤😊❤😊
I think Phillip qualifies as highly marriageable just because he is such a terrifically wonderful shopper! Such a treat in a man!
Whenever you go to flea markets or antique shows, I pick put things I would buy. It's so fun.
love antiquing ❤
Those shop are to die for
You brought me back to the times when I had spent hours and hours walking through this market. It seems nothing has changed.
It’s really wonderful seeing the world through your videos, thank you so much 😊🐨🦘🇦🇺❤️
Even if you do not buy, we like to look too!
" a thimble of wine...".LOL Thank you.
I love Marie’s laugh ❤and I love this channel ❤❤
Fun to watch you exploring, and I would be overwhelmed too. I loved the consistent "we don't need it."
Loved Brussels with you all...the food looked yummy, the brocante was breathtaking...thanks so much...
Thank you for showing all these beautiful things!
Always lovely to see Marie! The Murano was breathtaking and such a pleasure to see the market through eyes and with your combined knowledge.
Nic will be looking for an old brown bag, no doubt.
Yeah what is the bag all about?
