You do a great job of explaining these types of things to people like me who never played football IRL. This is the first year I’ve ever learned to read a defense, and it’s because of videos like this. Thank you!
Also, a lot of these “in heat” moments are from nickel blitzes in 3-4 disguises or your qb just rolls out and gets eaten by a DE ( this happens all the time in college football)
You pretty much just took us through a simulated version of Routes on Air! And as a upcoming coach the reason to why we do that drill is more understandable now!!
These reads are so different from madden reads and I’m so happy you dropped this I have been struggling with RTG because I’m reading CFB plays like madden plays
I love these videos! More concept style and how to read the defense please. I’m actually learning football now and not just trying to find plays the exploit the CPU.
You're amazing Kurt! I'm tired of these cheesy plays that become ineffective after updates. However, that was the only method I was familiar with before subscribing. Playing Madden has now become a more enjoyable experience, and I have gained a new enthusiasm for learning the game.
Thank you Kurt! Love these videos and I learn so much. Each time I watch one I can’t wait to turn the game on and try it out myself. I would love to see one that incorporates a mobile QB with RPOs, reads, PAs as I enjoy running the ball too
Kurt, when is the Dime Lab dropping " The Film Room? " where you can teach more about what you have learned and how we can apply it in game to madden/CFB. You would have my subscription! TAKE MY MONEY LOL 😂😂
Man I’ve been holding out on a paid community because I know what commitment it would be, but I’ve also been asked a ton to start it so people can get more. I think down the line when I get some of these projects I’m on a little further off the ground I will 🤝
I feel like that’s my only flaw I feel like I don’t have time to make all my progressions before I’m getting chased by 3 big back linemen . and then throwing randomly bad passes
Yeah a big thing I've learned from watching KB is to use motion and also just reading the alignment pre-snap to know what shell you're throwing into so you what concept to read and how. I just play Franchise against the CPU tho, so I dunno how that would translate to playing online.
@@reydemagival online is easier the human can’t play all 11-12 guys on the field like the CPU can which is kinda realistic I guess but the thing with the cpu is they are overly super human and honestly I need concepts to beat the CPU more than the human
Your videos are so good -- have you broken down the Veer and Shoot playbook at all yet? Would love to see it if you feel up to it-- I think I'm going to be switching to it next season -- and am trying to suck up all the content I can on it. LOL Thanks for all you do!
This was awesome! 👌🏾 Shallow/Drive and verts are the concepts i run the most. Glad you sprinkled Y-cross in there. I'm sure you could cook up two separate videos just on Y-cross and Mesh. Could you go over shotgun runs? There's several videos on how to stop the run and 3 actual teaching videos on inside zone from the gun. One of them is from Madden 20 SMH.
Would like to see a video where you have some audibles and show how to use them based on what you see in the defense. For me its a bit much to call all those play changes, but perhaps 2 plays for man and 2 for zone or somthing
WE ARE PENN STATE ( So ironic ur using them after how to make reads vid u had on madden I’m looking lol beast just beat Oregon In a close H2H game cause of u) 😊
Great video, i think it’s not that your oline can’t block but rather you should have been running the ball in between the tackles in those scenarios, I saw many early downs and the defense dropping into deep zone coverage. Every unstoppable offense has balance!
Great video cause I never have a system when I play I just chuck it into double coverage and hope i get a great wr animation lol but imma start being more systematic about it...thanks
Hey Kurt! So, sorry if this sounds stupid, but I’m not really knowledgeable about football and was wondering what all the ‘Wing X Off’, ‘Dueuce Close’ and ‘Normal Flex Close’ stuff at the top of the plays meant? Or even the ‘Gun Doubles All Go’ you picked. Like, is there some special reason for all those names? To make them stick in the heads of players so they immediately know ‘Oh! We’re doing THAT play!’. Sorry for such a long comment/stupid questions, but maybe this could lead to a ‘Football for Dummies’ type series for people like me that are just like ‘Football season’s on. I should watch some to sound knowledgeable to my family and friends.’
those names are essentially the formation. For example, Gun Doubles usually means that you are in shotgun(QB back about 5-7 yards from the line of scrimmage, with or without a runningback), and theres receivers and a TE running a route, RB and either pass block or run a route.
Can you do protections next? Idk if the game makes it hard to replicate. If you could note the differences of QBs calling vs the center. I feel like some QBs benefit from having that guy vs doing it themselves(Hurts)
Pro Tip : Put the video speed on 0.75x - You will get used to the slightly slower voice but the tempo makes it easier to follow along and also to read the defense a bit easier as the tempo is lowered! To Kurt : Love that you have started using “replays” to show why you made the reads you did! Don’t be sad that I gave the “slow the video speed” tip, we get to enjoy your Non-Auto tuned voice more 😂 ❤
question when your done explaining these with just the offense can you play with the defense on the field so we can see how it would look and see why you choose to throw to who you threw too?
Idk if I missed an update, or if there was ever even an update on the D-line? It’s crazy how easy they get through the line. It makes it unbearable to play more than 2 games before I just need a break 😂 tell me how the hell is a big ass defensive lineman gonna outrun my QB lmao
@ did not know I had to explain sarcasm…. Basically that means he was not a former NFL qb. Do you understand, or do i need to simplify it more for you?

Can you do a video tutorial on QB passing? When you should lead a receiver. When you shouldn’t. And so on.🙏🏽
I could use more videos like this. High/low basic concept and when reading defense. My issues is the trash o-line and the disguise blitz.
Kurt in a separate video can you explain defenders being inside leverage and the difficulty trying to throw a inside route against inside leverage
Kurt. You’re the man bro.
