If you like Asian cabbage-based food (a national food in Korea: Kimchi) you should visit the restaurant Han-Mi in Hamburg (Reeperbahn/Kleine Seilerstraße). Many delicious Korean specialities like Kimchi-pancakes and exotic desserts like green-tea-ice.

After having lived in Japan for 4 years, this video makes me so damn happy, guys :D Let me add my five cents?
If you want to have the authentic Okonomiyaki experience, go to Osaka or even better, Hiroshima. They know their stuff! Hiroshima especially is proud of this local specialty. Also, since you liked it so much, may I recommend Tonpeiyaki, which is basically very similar to Okonomiyaki, but the main ingredient is lean bacon or other pork meat instead of cabbage! Soo good!
The Takoyaki looked absolutely like the authentic experience! Of course, the greasy, yet fishy octopus flavor isn't for everybody. This dish survives or dies based on what kind of sauces are drizzled on top. Of course there are many varities and flavors, but for the real deal, Kewpie Mayonnaise and Otafuku BBQ sauce are used.
Yum, that Karaage looks amazing... although the chunks are usually much smaller in Japan and typically bite-sized. The standard batter is based on garlic, ginger and soy sauce, and if you ask me, Karaage is unlike anything Germans know in fried chicken. Insanely tasty! Better than KFC? You can't really compare it, KFC goes in a completely different direction in terms of flavor. Glad Phil liked it too!
The Yakitori did not look like it's served in Japan. First, Kropoek (Crab Chips)? Those are Malay, not Japanese! Second, Deana got it absolutely right! Either you eat Yakitori on a stick (ideally freshly grilled at an Izakaya with a cold drink) or on a bed of rice! In fact, Yakitori is so popular in Japan, you find it freshly made daily in literally every Supermarket in Japan, along with other favorites like Menchikatsu (Basically a thick, round mince meat burger, that's been breaded like a Katsu - juicy, crispy, to die for!).
The Katsusando looked alright. Wrong kind of breading, though. And, Deana, Katsu means cutlet, not chicken, so it's a general term! Katsu can be pork or many other meats, too. It's basically Japanese Schnitzel, although it's typically a much thicker cut than Vienna Schnitzel. I'm actually not a huge fan of Pork Katsu, because it tends to be dry and is often eaten with cabbage and rice, but no sauce. Glad you enjoyed the Chicken Version!!
Sushi... I'll skip it. I don't like that very much😂
Kakigori... So yum! Perfect cold treat in Summer - much lighter than German Ice Cream, neither milk ice nor sherbet... I especially like it with fruity flavors and a bit of liquid cream, as that just makes it melt in you mouth even more!
    Hugs from Heidelberg! ❤

Okonomiyaki literally means "whatever you want". It can be made with anything and is traditionally used to utilize any leftovers you have in the house. Only Hiroshima Okonomiyaki has distinct recipes. I hope your dream of visiting Japan comes true one day, the (food) culture is out of this world.

Go to the Okinomiyakimura (okonomiyaki village) in downtown Hiroshima. You pick what you want in your okonomiyaki and it is prepared in front of you on the grill. Add a beer (ippon biiru, onegai shimasu).

That okonomiyaki looked reeeal weird. I've absolutely never seen it folded like this in Japan. It looked like it was attempting to be a Hiroshima style (which kind of has stacked layers, rather than being totally mixed), but it wasn't quite there. The takoyaki looked pretty good- though I'd say that "doughy" texture you were describing is pretty normal for what you can find in Japan.

I noticed the Israeli TH-camrs are proud to show off famiky, friends and people in the strrets. More interesting than just the good and walks. 🍺🐞

I lived in Japan for several years. The batter is not tempura. Okonomiyaki batter is flour and corn starch and egg and water. Takoyaki batter is also not tempura batter. I love your videos but you might want to correct that. Tempura batter is soda water with a splash of alcohol and flour. Very different.
